She's always played mostly the same. The difference has always been the knockback. She can launch enemies more easily now than she could in Brawl, but still not nearly as well as in Melee. In that sense, she got buffed a lot, but not enough to place her in a high tier. Just enough to make her actually viable.

Play carefully if my opponent seems to be gong right after him and then punish him for going after him and not me. Also staying close to a edge so you dont have to watch one side of yourself minimizes the chance of Luma killed I find because most people will rush you and you can keep him close.

Protip: Most of those people probably don't even know they're doing it. We're in the modern age of wireless internet. I was amazed to discover I that having your internet hard wired into your console with all other connections severed wasn't "normal". You just have to psych him out, use only Ness' ( pretty good ) basic attacks to go hand to hand, then maybe mix it up with a side-b into a grab every so often when he doesn't expect it.

If you open up with B attacks, of course he's going to get into the habit of soaking them. You have to catch him off-guard, and don't develop an easily-read pattern.

Mac is the type of fighting game character I like to refer to as a "Amateur Wall", in that amateur players will have a hard time dealing with his nuts power, range, and BnB combos, but players who'll git gud at the game will eventually get over the wall and start realizing the better characters to Mac.

Let's take Marvel 3 and P4AU examples, as they're fairly recent, or in Marvel's case, relevant. Marvel 3 featured Wesker, who has stupid good range, damage, combos, etc., making him one of the most used characters and the Wall of the game, but if any player were to pass through Ranked high enough, they'd start to see that Wesker was less prevalent and more players were using characters like Zero, Frank, and Magneto, who are way better at doing shit but requiring more execution. P4AU is going through a similar phase now with Adachi, who has Ziodyne as a D attack with ridiculous range and power, but it's got shit startup time, so players will eventually work around it.

Smash 4 is still very new, so you really can't bank on which characters are the best yet, I for one think Shulk is slept on hard. Even then, don't rely 100% on tier lists, any character can be good so long as the person puts effort into how they work, I mean shit, I've seen some bretty gud Hakan players at EVO, and he's supposed to be the objective worst character.

Absolutely. TF2 is a good example of how balance at low level play differs from high level play. In low level TF2 the Pyro can obliterate teams because nobody is competent enough to play against his strengths, whereas in high level play he's considered useless.

In Smash Bros Rosalina would probably be mid tier at low level play because nobody knows how to use the Luma, but in high level play she moves significantly up.

smash on the 3ds has made me relaliz how much this game simply isn't made for a handheld.
