It blew up too quickly and we had rock band and guitar hero #63 competing for our money every 5 months people just lost interest.
I like the genre too it's unfortunate really I suspect it will rebound.
But this was just released two weeks ago.
We're going to get a new Rhythm Heaven sooner or later, the last one was only a few years ago. Lately, the team made Game and Wario (which is FULL of Rhythm Heaven shit) and Tomodachi Life.
Ouendan is dead though, but because iNiS is dead.
There's a full arcade rip of IIDX Tricoro up on Blackcats. It's ready to go and even supports proper IIDX controllers
Sorry, not here anon. Do you have GGn?
It's pretty hypocritical for you to call Mario a rehash franchise when you want more collectathons, which were the epitome of rehashes. You're so fucking unbelievably dense, why do you think collectathons went stale and died?
Because nobody outside of Japan asked for rhythm games that you just pressed a button on a controller with. Rock Band Guitar Hero were successful because it used an guitar/drum/microphone for rhythm input, so it was actually entertaining, just like DDR is entertaining because you're actually mimicking the action in the game. How someone can find a game that you just sit on a couch and press face buttons on a controller for rhythm entertaining is beyond me
So if I don't buy Simon: Anime Edition™ I must be a cawadooty player?
Not many companies can kill an IP like that so quickly and then just shrug it off like nothing.
My brother and I fucking loved the GH series when it first came out. I remember playing the first one at my cousins house then getting it and the second one shortly after for my birthday with two guitars. Played up to 3 then got into RB cause dem drums man.
I remember being able to port RB1 songs to RB2, are there any more iterations of RB other than the spinoffs? I'm thinking of getting back into them since I sold the games and the instruments a couple years ago.
