ITT: God-tier intros & opening clips in vidya
Starting with Shogun 2. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_EQWcB1vXXg
>tfw want to get into tws2
>enjoying the tutorials, liking everything
>can't into battle tactics
>get my retarded ass rekt everytime i do anything but autosim battles
Silent Hill 4 intro should have been one of the first responses you weiner eaters.
I'm sure there's resources available that educate on warfare. You can even read Art Of War and try to implement it to the game, hah.
Never played it.Looks eerie as fuck though.
It wasn't even just the Cinematic Trailer, everything about the entire opening sequence of the game, right to those fucking opening credits. From the presentation to the Music, it was fucking stellar.
It's rare for the opening of a game to completely suck me in to the point where I would have played the rest even if it went to complete shit, and Human Revolution had that feeling (Although thankfully it didn't go to shit).
LADS PLEASE GUIDE ME
IS ROME TOTAL WAR WORTH BUYING (FIRST ONE)
IM DOING THIS IN CAPS CAUSE I KEEP GETTING IGNORED
ROME TOTAL WAR OR MEDIEVAL TOTAL WAR 2? WHICH ONE LADS
I bought Napoleon just because I fucking love the Napoleonic wars and WW1 (There is a WW1 mod) and I had a little left over money for either one or the other. Which one? Rome scored 92/100 on metacritic? Are they just another whore critic company looking for money?
You knew Rome 2 was going to be garbage when it didn't have the same quality intros as the previous games.
Haha I read that but no, shes getting better but can only use the British and American decks, her favourite tactic is to spam Challeger 2 with Marksmen and SAS everywhere.
She just can't into micro because she was never a gamer until we started dating
>Start playing Nappy
>Try to be peaceful and only go after minor nations while attempting to become friends with the larger nations
>Everyone hates my guts on each side of the conflict
>Have to fight a bunch of wars I didn't start and didn't want to fight
>Every time I get peace with one nation or outright beat them, more declare war on me because of my "war mongering".
It's the true Napoleon experience.
>Imblying rome trailer wasnt goat
Its got that European ancient Hellinic feel to it, that music, those Germanic tribes
I think it looks pretty good. In Shogun 2 all the soldiers look like they so plastic and oily.
>mfw imagining in one hundred years there will be VR technology that allows you to walk into a room, put on a headset, and have an in depth samurai fight where your entire body is the controller and you could do anything you could do in real life
I just hope I live to see the day.
>not just taking a scene from Ran
I wish I fucking could. I've been having problems lately where I have had like 10 wet dreams over the past 3 months. Shit is annoying as fuck. It was cool the first time because it literally had never happened to me before, but it is getting annoying changing the sheets over and over again. I'm too old to be having this fucking problem.
>tfw I'll never be 8 again playing AoE and not having to do anything
>I hear so many good things about this game
>Have specs for it
>Install on an empty harddrive
>Decide to get i a few months ago
>Everytime i try to lauch it it just crash on the splash screen
>CA Refuses to answer my Threads or mails
>Every sulotion on the internet dosen't fucking work
>Fuck Warscape engine
I'd slap all of you if I could. No game will ever have a 7 minutes nightmarish cinematic intro.
>Liked fallout/elder scrolls, decide to get bethesda new release 'rage'
>Curious at first, then silent
>5 min more of silence
>Quit game and replay intro
>proceed to replay intro 20-30 times over next few days
>game is 6/10
Best watched - Full screen, high volume
>tfw can lucid dream
This is the best discovery I have ever made.
Game is mediocre, but that fucking opening
My lucid dreams only last for a few seconds because I can't figure out what is happening and why it is.
I usually start the dream with me in it, then I just realize it is a dream, like a natural feeling.
Almost naturally I put my hands forward and start flying like Superman would, and then my eyelids a few seconds later start to droop down and I can't do anything about it. When my eyes close I wake up. I'm not sure if I am just having dreams about having lucid dreams or if there is a way to fix my eyelids being weighed down.
it's so fucking awesome... I still remember the hype when I saw for the first time
>Big slow picture crawl with text
I'm so hyped now i guess...
I'm surprised noone posted what can
i do for you?
total war series always did the best intro in vidya:
>link related: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o06fUJSw3mQ
to be honest i don't expect much...
tw series were my favorite series of all time in any platform, but after rome 2 i kind lost most of my confidence on the series as a whole.
and they're using the same broken engine to develop that standalone expansion.
i hope if follows the path of the fall of the samurai dlc but i'm not sure they will deliver
Rome 2 is pretty great now though. The release almost gave me ptsd but now it's my favourite. I do agree that CA really desperately need to switch to 64 bit.
Also FOTS is standalone
>mfw loading up Shogun 2 for the first time
consider getting darthmod after completing the vanilla campaign - it overhauls most of the game without going too far
unlike most "realistic" mods in which you'll have 300 men shooting other 300 men at 60 paces and kill 1 or 2 guys after delivering a mass voley
also, lower the grass detail/unit detail/shadows to get a huge fps boost.
i'm trying to enjoy it but i simply can't... the battles are still weak for a tw game, the graphics (specially on the campaign map) are ps2tier but run like shit
they fixed the fps on the battles but the battles aren't just fun so far, but i haven't played more than 50 turns; i have to assume i hope they get better but i'm not betting on it
I re-installed it again for the Emperor edition, played it for about an hour and then uninstalled it again. It wasn't like it felt shit, it just didn't grab me and didn't feel like anything drastic had changed, whereas if I start playing a campaign of Medieval 2 I won't stop until the next day
>the battles are still weak for a tw game
Really, what tw game has better?
>Line of sight
>By far the most competent ai
>muh naval landings
>Best unit controls
All it's missing is muh thunka.
Fuck I wish we got some fresh thunka.
Well such is life. Enjoyment is subjective after all.
>SONS OF THE CIPHER, FOR THE EMPEROR!
My personal favorite
>Didn't go to shit
>Press button, receive ending
>Not going to shit
If they had actually finished the game instead of having been rushed to market it would have been good through and through,.
>doing a meticulous playthrough of not killing anyone
>always a good guy
>barely using my abilities because I thought it had an effect on your ending
>day later I here it's literally choose your ending
>literally choose your ending
I lost the urge to play quickly. My autism.
Mainly thanks to Cristopher Tin's music.
"On December 5, 2010, it was reported that "Baba Yetu" was nominated for the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards in the 'Best Instrumental Arrangement Accompanying Vocalist(s)' category, making it the first video game theme nominated for a Grammy Award."
The units just don't hold formation properly, they blob. Rome 1 and Medieval 2 still have by far the most tight battle mechanics of the series.
I also hate the province and building system in R2 with a burning passion.
Both taken a few seconds after they charge into one another.
Medieval 2 units don't hold formation properly either unless you charge both units directly into each other like >>265711508
If one unit is charging another that's stationary (because it's already in combat) they do a retarded thing where all the soldiers stop 5 feet in front of the enemy. Then like 10 guys walk out and engage in 1v1 fighting until they die, more soldiers step forward as they die, etc.
