That's not a lego 2, it didn't release as a replacement for lego, it was nothing more than a spinoff and was never expected to be more successful than lego itself which it never did OBVIOUSLY.

I buy Microsoft licenses for my company's clients all the time. This shit is mad expensive and they buy a LOT of them.

Well, you do have alternatives now. Especially the clone, known as Minetest. I would wager that modders and competent developers could probably go farther faster with Minetest as it is free, and the source code is out in the open.
I'm still bitter because I bought a 360 for that game and WarTech. It easily stood with their Nintendo era products. And everyone who parrots off "HURR MS KILLED RARE" seems to never played it (Most likely because they were playing Gears at the time)

I never considered Minecraft to be shit. It gets boring real quick though. You play it in seasons, pick it up for a little while then never touch it again for a few months. It could have been better, but I still love creating stuff, also, there have been fun adventures and maps that have come out over the years.
Survival was fun when I first started out after buying the alpha. All in all it was well worth the price I paid for it ($15?). It played nice and I had fun much longer than many full priced games.
Still a shame it had to turn out like this. It could become better, but I figure this is less likely than Microsoft going for full control and literally strangling all mods and community content in favor for pricey dlc and control over monetization of videos.

In that case, there are alternatives, some honest alternatives by decent and struggling devs who are pretty much doing it on their own more-so than notch did. Games like VOX. You also have Minetest, a clone with it's source code open to all, and it runs objectively better than Minecraft to boot.
If you are a skill dev and you liked Minecraft, you can basically design your own vision through and through. No waiting for the de-obfuscation of the code. If Minecrosoft takes a big sloppy shit on the community and content-creators, you can go to Minetest with the added bonus that not even a cent would go to MS.

Not really. Nobody buys Minecraft for the graphics, which is the first thing they'll improve in the sequel. Most people do it for the mods or for the online coop and pvp, which are all mostly free. So M$ will immediately turn off a lot of people with their paid online and their huge amounts of DLC that won't ever be as good as any mod.

This is a massive IP Microsoft now has their hands on.
