Can we get a mother fucking golden sun thread going??
Favorite character? class? summon?
This is my favorite turn based rpg besides maybe mario rpg with they had made some more never played the ds one but might give it a shot
Play this game.
Mario RPG is my favorite game of all time and the GS series remain in my top 5 of all time
I'm stuck in both the original and The Lost Age.
I can't figure out the puzzles. In the original I'm stuck on a giant tree near a town full of people who were turned into mini trees.
In the second game I can't figure out how to progress through the desert.
It has some unique shit, like being able to use psynergy outside of battle to do shit like read people's minds. Switching character classes using Djinn is also fun.
>tfw GS: TLA is miles ahead of the other 2
>tfw felix is the true hero
>tfw isaac and mathew will get ahead of him in smash
Dark Dawn was disappointing, but it's exaggerated how bad it is. You should mainly play GS for the dungeons and battle system anyway, and even if both are inferior because they're too easy, I still managed to enjoy the game.
>psynergy outside of battle to do shit like read people's minds
Kinda neat, I'll give you that, but I think the environmental puzzles were quite average.
>Switching character classes using Djinn is also fun
Kinda neat too, except for the system being completely unexplained, so you're just left to fuck around until you stumble upon something that works.
Characters and story are uninspired shit.
>mfw like both xenoblade and GS
>mfw like xenoblade and shulk more
>mfw I watch people bicker
isaac is getting a character slot anyway, his trophy is missing from the 3ds version of smash
>one big introduction
That's fucking accurate. I got to the end of the game and my first thought was "Sweet, end of part 1, now the game REALLY starts".
Then the credits rolled.
I'm on Tret Tree right now. Is that not the right place?
Ofcourse not. Why would they make a sequel to a game everyone hates?
>Hurr durr light and dark psynergy
>THIS ALEX GUY IS TOTALLY NOT ALEX!
>Black holes that aren't relevant 5 minutes into the game and then suddenly pop up as cliff hanger.
Man, fuck dark dawn. Golden sun was awesome until then.
>I think the environmental puzzles were quite average.
Some of the dungeons were pretty good though, and they had great atmosphere. I really liked Venus Lighthouse and Ankohl Ruins.
You have to drop down from the top to bottom. Drop down the correct hole and beat Tret. I hope you beat the lighthouse already otherwise you need to return to the forest again.
I really fucking wish I could have visited all places from the old game to see them now that they're alchemically-powered.
That's the one thing Symphonia 2 did reasonably well, allowing you to see how your actions from the last game changed the world.
The only good thing would be more of Isaac's sweet beard
I LOVE YOU OP
I HAVE TO DO PROGRAMMING HOMEWORK BUT I WILL BE BACK
Every golden sun had such awesome music and art. Battle system was amazing as well.
DD was shit because you couldn't backtrack. Not because it was easier.
You don't think they play other RPGs?
I mean, I never had SNES, so GBA was the first time I started playing RPGs for a long time, and enjoyed GS. Which definitely has a lot to do with my affection for it.
But I play plenty of other series afterwards, and now.
That was also shit, yes, but overall bosses and dungeons felt easier. I liked Apollo Sanctum and Berlinsk castle but most of the dungeons felt less creative, there were also a lot more dumb field psynergy like insight and track.
The storytelling was poop. Dark clan? Hiding? New parts of the earth? Apollo Lens why?
More fusion at the end to ride off the first two game's success?
Nigga we saw the whole earth and the edge of the world.
the first two games were amazing because the bad guys and good guys were not black and white good/evil, but the third game was basically HERE IS THE BAD GUY IN A BIG AND OBVIOUS METAL AIRSHIP, GO FIGHT EM KIDS
Such a lazy attempt at a story.
Thats nice but pretty irrelevant, stir shit elsewhere.
The class system is really good in golden sun, and in tla it rightfully shines. What's the class that gives wish? Such a useful psynergy. That would be my favorite class.
Not him but the characters are flat and the story is pretty standard JRPG stuff. Mind you, I liked both in the two first games, but DD was just a big sidequest and had characters like Himi just tacked on in the end.
>Brawl modders in charge of showing more love to Golden Sun than Sakurai
I'm starting to hate that chingchong
Thats not true. The new Djinn designs were great.
>You couldn't backtrack.
>You could lose djinss permanently due to this.
>The game was MUCH more easy than LA, even Dullahan is a cakewalk.
>New ACIENT civilizations appear in the land that you already explored in the 1st GS, ok one or two I could believe because earthquakes during the Golden Sun but EVERY FUCKING NEW TOWN?
>Cliffanger ending.(Whit no sequel in sight because the game bombed of how bad it was).
>The story is shit.
>The game is short.
>Seriously dark/light psienergy now, what is this FF.
>The characters are terrible, so bland water dissolves them.
>Furries were they shouldnt be, because lol we wanted to include them but we didnt want to include the territory they were in in LS.
I would buy a Wii U in 1 fucking second to if it got a Golden Sun 4.
I love one, 2 is great, 3 is ok and could have been better but I still liked it just as much.
I would kill for a fourth game.
He's just kind of there being mysterious.
Undoubtedly he'd be revealed to be evil all along and probably taking over the world from the shadows in the sequel but GUESS WHAT NIGGER.
So what you're saying is you don't see a problem with a story that could have been avoided entirely with the same happy outcome if the main characters just stayed home and did nothing? A story that builds up plot points like Babi, Sheba and the shaman's rod and then does exactly nothing with them? A story that is interrupted by incredibly obtuse detours through multiple dungeons and mini-storylines that have no bearing on the heroes' main goal just to get around a fallen tree? A story that ends with everyone having the same motivation to accomplish the same thing but still fighting each other for no reason other than "because"?
Not many people actually like it for the characters, but the setting was cool, it had a nice plot twist and the gameplay, music and graphics were amazing.
Who actually typed in the fuck-long 6 pages long password?
I did, it didn't help my handwriting sucked
I liked that the games put a lot of info and details in the background you have to talk/mind read NPCs to figure out, things that doesn't impact the main plot. Stuff like Sheba being from the moon, details about Ivan's family in Contiago, Amiti being Alex's kid and so on. Granted Dark Dawn was a lot less subtle about that stuff and outright stated a bunch of things, I'd honestly think it would've been better if they made Amiti's relation to Alex less obvious.
Golden Sun actually has alot of great fanart relative to its fanbase.
>Liking DD just as much as the first two
Also, does anyone else feel that Bravely Default was a lot like Golden Sun?
I think that's why I enjoyed it so much. I mean, both BD and GS are great games, but I had no clue I would love BD so damn much. Nice story, amazing characters, very fun battle system, great artstyle, etc. Even if BD did do that wacky shit after chp4..
I can't wait for Bravely 2nd.
I also can't wait for a GS4...
>New ACIENT civilizations appear in the land that you already explored in the 1st GS, ok one or two I could believe because earthquakes during the Golden Sun but EVERY FUCKING NEW TOWN?
And none of the old towns remained except for one or two. Seriously, what was up with that?
>liking TLA more than GS1
It's the same game except with all sense of direction and purpose removed and no apparent motivation is given for the guys you are controlling until halfway through the plot. And Air's Rock.
I liked Bravely a lot, especially style, soundtrack and battle system, but the dungeon design was pretty boring and repetitive. They also had one dungeon theme they kept reusing that got really old after a while. I really appreciated being able to adjust the encounter rate though.
I actually looked through the manual to see the developers, and make sure that they were not the same people, because no way could the people who made the 1st two games turn the third into such garbage, right?
Basically all the devs were the same.
Liking TLA is understandable. It introduced alot of new classes, summons, bigger world and other neat little mechanics like the blacksmith.
I personally like the original more just because I liked the areas and context more.
>beat DD, #rekt all super bosses
>decide to do a no-random-encounter run
>stop 2/3 of the way through because it was still too easy
Only person here shitposting is you bud.
Just because I like an admittedly not-so-great game doesn't mean I don't like the others just as much or more and don't have anything to contribute.
But TLA was GS just bigger and better. I actually liked the fact that you didn't know what these people were up to for a while because last you knew was that both your waifu and this kidnapped unrelated girl were in this against their will, suddenly they're very eager to help your traitorous not-dead friend in doing the stuff you were trying to prevent.
In their defense
>tla released in 2003
>dd released in 2010
>oh shit guys, we got a new game
>what the fuck do we do, i cant remember why it was good
>fuck it, rehash the last game. shit will sell
It's one of my favorite JRPGs too, but I've never fully replayed it since beating it as a kid when it came out. Reason being that every time I try to pick it back up I give up after a few hours from the sheer frustration of not being able to take 5 steps without getting sucked into yet another battle. The repel spells and items don't even help, they just reduce the frequency from every 5 steps to every 8 steps.
TLA was still a great game. It had a lot of cool new areas and psynergies, and everyone wanted to see Felix and Cast. I loved the new tribal areas they got to explore.
It is the one game that made me not angry that the protags were changing
I mean it's by no means perfect, but I would love either a remake or another game set in the same universe. I haven't played a turn based RPG with a blissful mix between dungeon puzzles and combat in a really long while.
That doesn't mean things can't change.
I'm not trying to defend the game, or not very well atleast, but to just be like "THERE IS NO EXPLANATION FOR THIS SHIT" is just wrong of you.
>the mention Biblin became a big city and is governed by a real bitch of a governess.
>can't go there
>You kind of go to Izumo, but it was wrecked and rebuilt because of the tidal waves generated by the world regeneration
>you DON'T get the couple's awesome son (who left to go with Felix and Sheba, but you never meet them anyway) and instead get their autistic daughter
>the only town you revisit is Champa and it's ruined
>have to tell Obaba her grandson (son?) died protecting your worthless asses
Really, one thing sequels with time jumps always do is explore the changed world. Xillia 2, FFX-2 and a few others do this with only a year or two difference. Golden Sun here has about 20 and a flourishing world with alchemy becoming widespread.
...and they don't do it. And now it's unlikely Golden Sun 4 will happen to put the whole series out of its misery. Damn it, Camelot/Nintendo.
>14yrs old (or so)
>At the last boss of TLA
>Got this far on my friday night after school, had been playing TLA and GS for fucking months doing everything like all quests, all djinn, the password system, all extra bosses, etc
>My world literally revolved around GS at this point
>At The Doom Dragon, everyone is dead except Issac, no summons, no items, no PP for healing, etc
>Think to myself, "I'll just give it one last attack, I know I won't win, but there's no reason to turn back now"
>Set up the attack
>'Issac's sword let out a howl!'
>Watch as Issac jumps into fucking space and cuts down the literal golden sun into the earth to crash it into the Doom Dragon
>As it hits him and Issac lands, the doom dragon disintegrates and dies
I felt like such a fucking hero, I literally jumped for joy and was freaking out the entire time. It was one of the best things to ever happen to me in gaming; no game has ever made me feel so good.
Holy shit this
>"Obtained the Sol Blade!"
>what is this it looks neat
>equip to Felix
>fight the chaos dragon
>do the normal attack
>do it again
>it's raining stars
>stars for everyone
>the fucker can't stop
>WHY CAN'T I HOLD ALL THESE SUNS
>Isaac sitting in a corner spending PP on Odyssey because he didn't get the weapon
>"it's ok boy I'll lend you the sword when this ends"
>tfw the entire world is destroyed because he couldn't stop unleashing the sol blade
>saying they had more important things to do
LIKE GOING TO A FUCKING SUNKEN CONTINENT FOR NO OTHER REASON THAN SATISFYING YOUR STUPID CURIOSITY WHEN YOU SHOULD BE OUT SAVING THE WORLD TO THE POINT WHERE YOUR EMPLOYER SENDS FUCKING MERCENARIES ON YOUR ASS BECAUSE YOU ARE BEING TOO FUCKING SLOW AND NOT DOING YOUR JOB?
Kraden says a lot of shit, but he does make reference to a lot of changes in the world.
>Going to Lemuria
>No other reason than satisfying his curiousity
Did you even pay attention to the game?
>Spend ages writing down the gold password
>Spend ages inputting the gold password
>End up fucking up somewhere
>Don't know if you wrote it down wrong or not
Thank goodness the second time I played through I just borrowed my friends GBA and transfer cable.
Excalibur is a shitty sword in LS.
The fursed sword is stronger than Sol but because of the same especial as excalibur is worse than the Orichalcum forged sword (so many restarts).
>Golden Sun thread
You better remember me
>Best and only good part about DD
Cannot be debated
Excalibur's finisher is the one that shoots a random number of swords ranging from 1 to 3.
The cursed sword is the one that shoots out a recolor of the Gaia Blade special.
>has second highest attack stat in game and a powerful super almost as good as MEgiddo
No. Fuck you. Dullahan was a bitch to fight, and those skills did NOT help at all.
I still had a blast fighting him though
Guys, guys, what if-
Kraden is the bad guy He has the trust of the heroes, and they often turn to him for advice. What if he actually manipulates the heroes into achieving his own sinister plans since the very beginning???? You get the choice not to kill Alex in GS4 after fighting him. If you choose to spare him he joins the party and you eventually learn the truth about Kraden. If you don't, you get a bad end.
I'm not kidding, they love golf. They made Everyone's Golf for Sony, Mario Golf for Nintendo, and then We Love Golf for Capcom. I think they've only got two modes now, sports games and Shining games.
Mia is my #1, but I can definitely respect Jenna. I was so sad when she had to leave the party.
Dang, now I'm thinking back to all her great dialogue and how much I cared about her in game 1.
I"m becoming a Jennafag
feels good man
This so fucking much, when I finally got the McGuffin or whatever the fuck you had to go around the world to get I thought that finally the filler side quest used to introduce characters was over and the real story would really start, especially since Golden Suns never had points of no return before and I still couldn't go back to some towns and areas.
Then I saw the credits rolling.
It defined her personality well, nothing wrong with that.
The whole point of the extra party in TLA was that both of their adventures came together in one big crescendo during the final act.
It felt unnecessary and phoned-in in DD. The characters for the 3rd party either felt rushed or didn't live up to expectations. If the game was better paced and kept the story coherent
"hey kids, you broke our flying machine, go fix it" became "YOU MUST SAVE THE WORLD FROM DARK AND EDGY FURRY ANNIHILATION" without any mention of the broken flying machine thereafter.it would have been a better game, perhaps even split into two, like its predecessors.
It does. Let the qt 3.14 flow through you.
I totally forgot about karst
I don't like girls with short hair usually
Same here. I got ~1/2 way through and just wanted it to end.
>Kraden is a physical tool for the Wise One since he ''Cannot interfere with the actions of man''
>Wise One is still a huge asshole even though Papa Isaac keeps sucking his dick
>Save Papa Isaac from its evil clutches
>Kill the Wise One with help of
>Kraden then becomes the new Wise One
Camelot' shitty writing gets redeemed as I try to contain all the tweests
I had never played Golden Sun because RPGs weren't my deal back in the day, but I went in a GBA appreciation stint a few years back and played them both. They were a lot of fun. Notably flawed and needed some streamlining, but the whole Djinn summoning mechanic was unique and interesting, and all the overworld puzzles were neat. I'd really like to see this series revived with a better focus, it's got potential to be something far greater than your average JRPG
And I pretty much cry myself to sleep at night because Isaac has some of the best raw material to work with for a smash bros. moveset, but we got Shulk and Robin instead.
Getting Eoleo in DD was such a disappointment. Raised by a pirate father for the sea, I was confused why he couldn't be a water adept but fine whatever. The fact that he couldn't use axes despite being a big guy just added to his problem.
Not quite. The lore and setting were fucked.
Even in 30 years WITH alchemy, the world should not have changed that much. Enitre civilizations that seem hundreds of years old should not pop up like that (the new asian cities and furryville), same with the Sol Sanctum and the fucking great wall of china.
>was thinking about Golden Sun earlier today
>see this thread
I remember reading about that somewhere before, something to do with the GBA's hardware limitations.
It also got me thinking. Isn't there a romhack out there that combines the first 2 games so that everything flows as a single game as was originally intended? If not, then it can't be that hard to do. After all, when Isaac's party joins yours in the Lost Age, they have everything they had at the end of the first game, Djinni and equips. Plus, the region where the first game took place is in the second just with all the towns and shit removed (I think it was possible to glitch your way there after getting the flying upgrade for your ship). At the very least, it would save players a lot of time from not having to deal with a fuckhuge password or link cable for physical copies.
I fucking loved GS's class customization, it was always fun to duel a friend with different setups and strategies. Shame they're not a little better balanced and the mechanics are more deep, but the elemental mechanics were great.
I used to run 3x Chaos Lords since they hit like a truck (Second only to Ronin I believe) and revive fully heals a dead target. You were pretty vulnerable to buffs/debuffs, but as long as you ended the fight quick, it wasn't a big deal.
>tfw had golden sun 2 since release but never finished it because it's too fucking long and if you put the game down for a week and try to come back there's no way to tell what the fuck you were doing
Apollo Sanctum is a passable new discovery, considering that it's on top of Weyard's Mt. Everest and could have re-emerged when Alchemy returned. I agree with you entirely regarding the Great Wall of Not-China, Ayylmao-thay and Furryville
She's basically mine too, but I just became a Jennafag.
She's still A+ tier, but I discovered repressed feelings I had for Jenna
You have a good waifu, anon
>miafags all over the thread
Get out of the way.
I don't know, remember how everyone in TLA said they weren't entirely sure if lighting the lighthouses would save the world and could instead end up destroying it? Well you could do that, show how Prox instead of being saved ended being blown the fuck out and start from there.
I'm in love with this bitch whose name I don't remember because Dark Dawn was shit.
The first two Golden Sun games had some really great music for being on the GBA.
And I always loved that jingle that played whenever you found an item.
I'd expand on lore from the previous game instead of coming up with all this new stuff, actually go to Bilibin, see how Prox has changed after no longer being on the brink of destruction and finally see Anemos.
Sheba was great. This game made amazing characters.
That being said...
this makes me happy and mad at the same time
Yeah, even though you go through Bilibin quite a bit, you never see it truly change that whole time, and Prox barely had any time at all, though it still payed it's part great. I would love to see it return.
10 years passed.
Earthquakes are starting to brak the earth and uncovering new ruins around the world.
From these ruins monsters are starting to pour terrorizing the population.
Play as Isaac as he travels around the WORLD looking for an ending to this and asking his old friends for help (they may not come with him cause reasons, so new people).
At the end of the game you seal all four ruins, but then a new BIGGER One opens were mount Aleph was, wich is were the Old one lives.
You figth him, but when hes killed he says hes been corupted, and [email protected] need to go down Alephs crater to find the sorce.
Cue clifanger Dark Sun, the inverted earth with no light.
Eoleo had to compete with Isaac/Felix 2.0, Garet 2.0 and the OP furry. He'd always be disappointing.
It also didn't help that he couldn't even get to abuse his stats and class spread like Jenna did.
And don't get me wrong, I'd love the idea of them and the areas from a design standpoint and when shit got real in fur town were nice, but as I said, overall execution in relation to the setting.
Didn't even hate the animals since they reminded me of the animal people from dragonball and animal crossing.
>earth adepts used to be important
>you get this character almost at the end of the game, with no actual development, just "here this is your second earth adept now go away"
We all miss her, we all miss her, anon
>beat the entire game several time as a kid
>get stuck several times when emulating it as an adult
have I gotten dumber?
Piers shorts are comfy and too easy to KO.
man i remember in the second game getting to the werewolf village. man that music still haunts me
>Golden Sun thread
Holy fuck, my niggas!
> Favorite character
Mother fucking Isaac. Of all the silent protags in rpgs his character design really resonated with me. All the kids are pretty adorable though. Game is charming as fuck.
Ninja is love. Ninja is life.
Lighting the lighthouses reverses the decay of the world, starts to cause a lot of creatures to be able to use psyenergy. Creatures outside of towns start getting a lot more dangerous as a result, and suddenly lots of humans have access to relatively strong weapons (psyenergy) from what they have. Societies flourish, and wars wind up being fought.
The journey becomes about finding a balance in alchemy in the world, as the lighthouse's force is wild and untamed.
what parties did everyone use?
I always stuck with felix-jenna-piers-sheba as my main crew and rolled with isaac-garret-mia-ivan as the backup
>mfw using those codes to get the second crew at a higher level than you'd normally get
>tfw remember grinding in fiji islands (I think?) fighting against those blue phoenix's that gave a lot of exp
In terms of character requests, he's typically the number 3 most requested character after ridley and k.rool
Which means if we ever had a competent developer in charge of smash we might get some of that stuff. Even the fucking Japanese are getting tired of the Sakurai bias
I mainly kept them in their respective parties, although sometimes I let Jenna in to party one since she had more ties with Isaac and Garret.
People used to fighting/traveling together should stay together.
Isaac, Felix, Jenna and Piers.
I forget why but Venus Adepts were always head and shoulders above the rest of them and Jenna was only a bit worse than the Venus bros. Piers was a necromage because call Dullahan was worked crazy with his high strength gain.
Do you think Jenna would of fought Isaac or kissed him long enough for them to throw the star in?
Pardon my lewdness.
Why the fuck does everyone think Alex is a bad guy?
>"Betrays" the Mercury Clan by helping to open up the Lighthouse
>Except oops, turns out you need to open the lighthouses to save the world, and literally talking to Saturos and Menardi for 10 seconds would have explained this
>Saves Jenna right in the opening
>Never stands in the party's way at all
>Absorbs some of the Golden Sun at the end but who says he was ever going to use it for bad stuff
>Still has superpowers from the Golden Sun
>DOES NOT destroy the world
>Has a kid (Amiti) who seems reasonably well-adjusted
>Backstabs Team Evil
Remind me why Alex is "the villain".
Meanwhile, in Wise One town
>"The Elemental Djinn have been released." Implies this is a bad thing. First playthrough, I thought the Djinn were going to be bosses based on how Wise One talked about them
>Sends Isaac and Garet to stop the people who are trying to save the world
>TURNS YOUR PARENTS INTO A DRAGON AND MAKES YOU FIGHT THEM in an attempt to keep you from saving the world
>Tapes Alex (whom we have established is not actually a villain) to a mountain and drops him into magma
>Doesn't do shit
THE WISE ONE HAS BEEN THE VILLAIN ALL ALONG.
ALEX IS TRYING TO FIGHT THE VILLAIN.
>Absorbs some of the Golden Sun at the end but who says he was ever going to use it for bad stuff
Literally he first thing he tried to do with his new powers was to wipe out the nearest village. I do agree it'd be more interesting if The Wise One went all all HAL 9000 on you though.
>mfw the Shining series is the better RPG series Camelot worked on and Golden Sun is more mediocre than Beyond the Beyond
Are we seriously bring fucked up gods into this? because a have one
By the time I finished the game I was using Felix-Isaac-Garet-Jenna simply because their quest was somewhat personal with the kidnapped people from Vale and all that stuff. Just felt more satisfying to kill the dragon.
Golden Sun might not have the best writing (despite the awesome tweest on the second game) and it might be on the easy side when it comes to difficulty, but it was so fun to play anyway. The puzzles were many and diverse, and the class system is implemented is so good. The summonings have great animations too. And the sountrack... I listen to music so often I usually end up not giving two shits for game soundtracks, but in this case it really hit the nail on the head. On TLA, the animal quests were cute as fuck, and the towns all around always had a charm to them, but the action was badass in the best sense of the word (again, the soundtrack helped a bunch, not to mention the battle animations).
Good memories man.
Wait, do people not like Air's Rock? I love that bit!
Too much backtracking, too long, the music gets grating, there's a big section of climbing that slows everything down and you're mostly running around a maze in the desert.
Easily worst rock.
>The summonings have great animations too.
Damn straight. I remember gasping in amazement as a child when I discovered summoning. Golden Sun looked amazing back in the day.
>ALEX DID NOTHING WRONG
>HE A GOOD BOY
Alex-fags pls go.
Alright, what city is best city? I can't decide between Lemuria and Tolbi. Comes down to melancholy feels and dat theme vs COLOSSO and gambling your underage ass off.
Isaac will be in Smash
I've never cared about Smash bros since the N64 days, but if Isaac is in I might just have to pick up a WiiU just to main the little mother fucker.
Ok pals. What went wrong?
It hurts today. Damn I waited like 7 years for this piece of shit.
That first city with the bandits felt pretty alive.
Revisiting Vale in the first game because feelings
The werewolf place
Mia's hometown was top tier though
Also, the place cursed by trees
Ugh, I need to replay these and remember the names. Man, best city is hard to decide.
fuck you why. mathematically speaking it's much better to have a weaker weapon than to MISS A TURN.
basically made the plunders from the secret island a waste
Awww sheeit. I just remembered the Imil theme. Comfy as fuck. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IsOfq-v5kKo
Yup. His wise ass dialogue was great too. I kinda want fanart of him with a cigar and top hat.
I liked Alfahara for some reason, it was a big city but the place was a mess, had pirates in the backyard and a douchebag mayor. I remember I found Briggs hard when I fought him the first time too.
Also, its bullshit how you don't get to see all the others involved in the first two games during DD. Would have liked to see older versions of everyone else, as well as their kids. Also, its been a while, but what the fuck happened to Lemuria in DD?
>Implying he isn't the face of the series
>Implying that scarf isn't swag as fuck
>Implying earth adepts aren't best adepts
>Implying using MOVE to ring out niggas wouldn't be a giggle
>Implying he wouldn't Ragnarok every fucker off the map
>Multiple points of no return
>Completely inconsistent geography and history
>Building up to a sequel that will never happen
Basically all the flaws of the originals except worse.
>Jugdment or Catastrophe as final smash
Too many furries
No explanation why all this shizz appeared on the earth suddenly
The enemy was too obvious and black and white bad, compared to morally gray enemies in the originals.
Great wall of china
game was too easy, and when you finished it you only thought you you had finished the first half
Not being able to travel to earlier parts of the world after beating their dungeons
Giant metal airship with a new clan in it. F that
Final boss battle riding off the pattern of the first two
Not seeing the adult versions of Jenna, Mia, and Sheba
>mfw after 10 freaking years I learned about "elite" classes and just how much better they were than actual summons
I steamrolled that boss once I realized burst damage wasn't worth losing plywell for 5 turns
>Be on holiday in Spain as a kid
>Lose my copy of GS which I've played in pretty much every country across the world
>Dad buys me a new copy
>It's in Spanish
>Doesn't even matter because I know half the dialogue off by heart
Man you just brought back some good memories.
>Hama tells you Felix's life is gonna be shit
>Almost gets crushed to death by boulder
>Travels around with assholes holding his entire family hostage
>Jumps from a fucking lighthouse, still doesn't die
>Has to save the world since everyone else who tried dies
I always wondered what happened to Felix in the third game, did Hama mean his life was going to become even more shit or was she referring to the stuff that happened in the games.
Beat GS, realized I was missing a djinn and didn't beat the secret dungeon and purposely lost so I could 100% it. Now this thread is pushing me to climb through the entire last dungeon again and beat them so I can move on to the sequel.
>Isaac's mom saying "No, you can't be my son. Isaac would never come back until he completed his mission."
what the fuck. that was scarring as a youngin.
it's me mom ;_;
Play in order, don't play Dark Dawn when you finish the first two if you don't want to be disappointed and most importantly: Do all you need to do in the first game (collect Djinns, good equipment and level your party to at least 34-36) because you have to import some information in The Lost Age to fight a side boss there. The levels are necessary so they can be on par to your other party by the time they join too.
fuck I sold it
Posting some remixes because why the fuck not? Also there isn't enough art in this thread.
Agreed, I like him a lot more than Isaac. Also, he actually has a single line of text in the game. I went back through the instructions on that trial thing just to make sure it was actually him that said something.
I recall some dialogue saying that upon lighting the lighthouse (forgot which one) the sea level increased momentarily or something like that so they fell in the water anyway.
Nerd overreaction and muh slippery slope
Best JRPG on the 3DS
Oh, that is true.
I still loved that he went out of his way to do that for love.
It would have had to have been higher, otherwise the fall would kill him and her.
Maybe Alex saved them?
>inb4 alex did nothing wrong fags
I don't support censorship. It doesn't even matter if I care what was censored. I'll just play the game when I can pirate it if I want to play it so bad.
>muh slippery slope
If it's allowed once then there's no reason not to do it again. You decide what's okay with your wallet.
Well I suppose I can give Lunar a shot.
I don't remember the reason, did they speculate that lightening the lighthouse cased the seas to move? Or was it Sheba being good at falling from heights or Felix being plain lucky?
What psynergy does their child use?
That's more an expresion than dialogue.
Alright kids, let's talk about summons.
Did you prefer the versions in the originals or DD, like how they changed Boreas from a giant ice rock arm shredder into a horse train thing?
We can all admit the combat system for DD was beautiful looking
Yep, all he says is "Why?" It was during that trial thing you have to do for the hover stone
>my soul when Sakurai announces that Isaac is in
as a Robin clone.
>That makeshift circle they draw on the floor to have Isaac stand on since he was a last minute entry.
>You're practically cheating to win.
>No one questions all this psynergy bullshit.
>Those assmad contestants you beat show up if you linked your game and won.
>"Lel it was his warrior skill."
I bet that nobody but me is hurt by the fact that SE played with our feelings in this way
That was the funniest shit ever.
>mfw recruiting just woman to row
Doom Dragon used Djinn Storm! Doom Dragon used Cruel Ruin!
>Please Isaac, I'm pregnant. I ca-
>Please child... I am 86 years-
>I'M HEARING A LOT OF WHINING BUT I'M NOT HEATING ANY ROWING
>Ack! My back, please I can't-
>HOW BOUT YOU GO UPSTAIRS AND FIGHT THE MONSTERS AND I'LL ROW? HUH? IS THAT WHAT YOU WANT?
>THEN FUCKING ROW. FUCK.
>yfw Djinn Storm + two Cruel Ruins in a row
>Final Boss is harder than the bonus bosses
Fuck you doom dragon.
No, its legit. Its not making the women row but if you pick a specific order of rowers then they would row so poorly that you would end up at crossbone island.
All I can remember of it is that the old man was the third one.
Taken from the wiki
>"If the four selected rowers have been specifically selected properly so that the strongest rowers are on the left and the weakest are on the right (1st the Swordsman, 2nd the Balding Man, 3rd the Chef, and the 4th the Elderly Man is one of the possible valid setups), the ship will sail off-course northward and it will land on Crossbone Isle."
Been a while, but didn't you have to put strong rowers on one side of the boat and weak rowers on the other side, to make the boat turn?
