>being an autistic weeaboo
Don't you have your highschool slice of life shows to watch and pretend you had a Japanese high school life instead of being bullied in high school for being a jaded social outcast?
just look at the user reviews, amazon right now has an average rating of 2 and a half out of five stars
So you should have known to not get it like I did.
The game obviously targets a difference audience.
Many of the complaints are "why wasn't the game like this?" which I call entitlement.
Sim city was the warning sign for me.
>weeb gets told this hard that he has to reply with a shitty rehashed comeback
>implying all anime is based off of high school life.
While lots of animes are based in high schools, not a lot use this as part of the main plot. Its mainly just a tool to get the characters to meet each other.
>MFW people who dont play games say the exact same shit about gaming but you defend vidya
Who said I got it?
>Many of the complaints are "why wasn't the game like this?" which I call entitlement.
yes you're right, it is entitlement to expect basic features from previous games to be included in the latest
A franchise shouldn't target a different audience if it isn't a spin-off. Franchises exist because a game is made and is thought to be good enough that people want to see more of the same stuff with new aspects. They failed their audience.
sometimes previous games in a series are better
The main thing I think is odd is sims 4 probably doesn't deserve such bad reviews, but many fans over excited themselves for something they should have known was going to be a turd.
There is that word again.
what sort of delusional hypocrite would defend the sims of all things in the same breath he complains about slice of life shows?
they're both shitty
and here's a random anime pic cause that seems to piss you off
The graphics are the only thing that has been improved.
Logically, a sequel would take existing concepts and include them into a base game. EA takes those existing features and just re-releases the same damn expansions over again.
>a person who is playing a life simulator thinks he can make fun of someone who watches SoL
What the fuck?
>I'm smarter than everyone else and knew it was going to be a turd from the start, so everyone else that doesn't like it is entitled
This is what you sound like and probably have no friends cause you make them feel inferior to you
>implying I even know what my reaction pics are from
see, this is the kind of reaction that makes you look fucking retarded.
Did you buy your gf Sims 4 or did you explain to her what is wrong with EA?
I explained it in another thread:
It's pretty bare, which is expected of a base Sims game at this point, but they scaled back some stuff from Sims 3. "No pools" is only a small part of the story. There's no pools because there's no terraforming. You have a little square of land you can build a two-story house on and that's that.
The town is barren. It has no places of employment, no hospital, etc. All there is is a strip of four business along the bottom (museum, nightclub, gym, library) and a park across the street. Both towns are basically the same.
And you can't even travel freely through this tiny, hyper-efficient town. Absolutely anywhere you want to go, you have to go through a loading screen. Even in the little box of four lots you can scroll around at a time, if you click on your neighbors house and select "Visit residence," it will just go through a loading screen.
And everywhere you go, you just teleport. So long, immersion. You come and go in a big poof cloud. When you go to work you literally just poof out of existence for a few hours.
And those constant loading screens? You better keep your fingers crossed and your asshole clenched that the game doesn't crash during one, because it likes to do that.
Plus, if you have more than one person in your household, you can still only control one section of the map at a time. So you send one Sim to the park and now you're just controlling that Sim until he/she goes home. Meanwhile, time passes with your Sim(s) at home outside of your control.
The moods can also get annoying. No one needs to hear sad music play that sounds like someone died every time a Sim has to use to the bathroom or gets tired.
>people complaining that the game is less like sims 3 and more like 1 & 2
>thinking this is a negative aspect
I guess sims 4 isn't bad as much as "go replay sims 2 instead of paying for this game"
babies are just an object
babies are real characters
babies are real characters
babies are just an object
>complaining and not being on topic
Why don't you fuck off?
>he sound of another IP being murdered by modern EA
The only Sims game that was ever good was Sims 1. It felt like a Maxis game and not an EA game. Everything afterwords was prissy tween bullshit designed to milk to the franchise rather then to actually innovate it.
I love all the shounen shows that show the characters in school like once in every ten episodes. Im always like "don't these niggas ever go to school or are they too busy punching demons and shit?"
Holy shit, really? I never noticed it because I just repair things myself, but that seems to run alongside the teleportation as my basic problem with the game. Sims 4 is not an immersive world. It is just an emotions simulator.
sims 4 is exactly the same shit they did with 2 and 3 shit because it doesnt have 6 years of expansion packs that the previous had. But 2 hid it with the graphical improvements and 3 hid it with the big pointless open world that made the game run like shit.
4s big feature isnt as noticable to cover it up
>Did you buy your gf Sims 4 or did you explain to her what is wrong with EA?
My sister bought all Sims 2 & Sims 3 expansions. She plans to buy Sims 4. She's married, 30 years old, and has a masters degree. I am disappointed of her casual ways.
Give up on EA.
They killed Origin. They killed Maxis the same way.
Of course Sims 4 was gonna suck. It was intended as an online game and it's literally a regression back towards the first game. Sims 2 is a better game because it redefined the series and it expanded what it was already good at.
>Why? This is the perfect girl game and still better than Zynga and facebook games.
Oh no I was just stating that she is the primary audience. People who don't know better.
>Perfect girl game
Remember when Sims 1 was targeted to everyone like every Maxis game before it?
>tfw all you wanna do is play The Sims 2 but your computer won't let you
Yes and it was fun but most of the userbase was female. I remember this was the first time my old best buddies two sisters played a PC game. Even his older sister was hooked on it.
How time flies by.
>Why are you fags saying 2 was the best? 3 is better, it's 2 with extra shit.
It's because of nostalgia. The game is now TEN years old.
8 year olds are now 18.
That said Sims 1 was the best before EA kikery.
Um... have any of you... actually played this game or are you parroting what you heard about it?
Sigh.. why are you being so mean about this game then?
>tfw bought the Sims and an expansion at goodwill for $4
>tfw windows 8 outright doesn't launch the setup
I meant no I'm not parroting what I heard of it.
>never modded the shit out TS1
I never played the game like it was "meant" to be played. You can get a lot of fun out of The Sims if you use plugins.
I use to make batshit insane families in early 2000's. One of them was called the Bastards. There were 6 slobbish men, sailor moon, and a bastard child offspring that didn't know who was the real father. So I had it Sailor Moon was killed in a fire and her ghost haunted house. All the bastards lived off welfare so had a moderately large house. The kid was abused for being a nerd and was forced to have gargoyles and rituals with clowns to take place in his room. Oh and prostitutes and drunken gnomes were common place.
THAT'S HOW YOU PLAY A SIMS GAME NIGGA.
thats pretty funny, anon
WHAT SHOULD I PLAY
SIMS 2 WITH ALL DLC
SIMS 3 WITH NO DLC
both was free
Sims has always been enjoyable and charming. The new game is extremely bare bones, though-- they took away most of the features from the other games in the series and they are probably planning on selling it back via expansion packs.
The Sims 2 had more initial content than The Sims 1-- it borrowed stuff from expansion packs and gave the players a more complete package right out of the box. The same goes for The Sims 3, which borrowed from some of The Sims 2's expansion features and made them into standard features.
The Sims 4 has even fewer features than the core game of The Sims 1. It's a joke. EA is killing The Sims just like they killed Sim City, all in the name of greed and laziness. This isn't even stuff that just hardcore fans get mad about, either-- tell anyone that The Sims 4 doesn't have pools, and their faces will grimace. Read the list of shit from past games that EA has cut out, and they will probably say "I am not buying it. I'll stick with Sims 3." The Sims was one of EA's major cash cow and if they somehow manage to alienate their mainstream customers, then there's no knowing how far they can sink.
But there was.
Also muff. It was better than that damn Playboy game.
Whoa, I just read that there's no story progression beyond aging anymore, without player intervention. This must mean that if you play long enough and only have kids within your household, your household will be the only one alive in the entire world, and will eventually inevitably die out too because inbreeding is not allowed. What the fuck were they thinking?
>The Sims 2 had more initial content than The Sims 1-- it borrowed stuff from expansion packs and gave the players a more complete package right out of the box.
The music and artstyle of the characters just ruined it for me. I couldn't stand that none of the men could be ultra manly. Instead they were metrosexual fuckwads.
There was a server fire right before TS2 was supposed to be released, so they had to quickly recreate all of the models in a very small time frame. That's why the game looks like shit.
>no Sims game will EVER have music this good again
>tfw you get chills every time you hear this
They removed a shitload of content that has always been the norm in the base game for any Sims entry.
They basically focused on the relationships/emotions parts of the game and disregarded everything else.
Anyway, does anyone know if custom content is going to be available when the crack goes off of Origin?
I'd still like to use it.
ALSO, can I buy just the base game but torrent all the expansions? I can understand buying the game at this point if that's possible.
i suppose thats fair
the last 3 games only had the same base features it should have been silly of us to continue to expect the same plus a tiny bit more from EA.
If a Ford dealer told you to wait 3 months on tires to be installed on the car you just bought, thats fair right?
driver entitlement and all that.
>Anyway, does anyone know if custom content is going to be available when the crack goes off of Origin?
>ALSO, can I buy just the base game but torrent all the expansions? I can understand buying the game at this point if that's possible.
I'd like to know these answers too.
>It gives you a lot of freedom to create situations and such.
Please....there is so much potential when it comes to a proper human simulation game yet EA has no intention of ever utilizing it. Instead they reboot the game and add few minor features every 5 years.
TS3 just staring soullessly at you...
Everyone in this thread really likes to parrot what everyone who hasn't played the game says.
It is a pretty decent game, as decent as a Sims game can be. I have been playing it the best two days and I can say, that a lot of the complaints are not as big as you think.
The loading screens between areas are like 10 maybe 15 seconds, not like The Sims 2 where loading screens were fucking minutes long.
It also runs so much better than The Sims 3, it is worth it by itself. Yes, the 10 second loading screens between areas may off-put some from leaving their house, but other than that, it's perfectly fine.
Pools aren't that big of a deal, the only complaint that I have is the 50/50 crashing on loading screens (which I assume only affects the pirated version) and maybe the lack of careers. They left out some of the BASIC shit like Politician, Medical and Business careers.
The game isn't without improvements. There is actually a really fun dating mini-game, where when you ask someone out on a date they give you a couple of goals to accomplish, you get a rank, and then a special item. A lot of people are just spergs who smash Romantic interactions for a day and get married that night though, and wouldn't even find out about this because they're too busy bitching about pools.
Where the fuck did you guys download your games?
How much overall is Sims 3 + all of expansions? In euros, or dollars.
>still downloading it
I bet you used to use Limewire to download horse porn, too.
Who cares how she looks? We're together because I actually enjoy her company. My first girlfriend was horrible. We were together for six years, and she more or less wanted me to give up everything that I enjoyed for her. She was hot as fuck, sure, but she made me absolutely miserable minus the small portion of the day that we spend fucking. That shit isn't worth it.
>Who cares how she looks?
>dating bridge trolls
>paying the troll toll to get into this girl's hole
I can't play it at all and there doesn't seem to be a way around it.
The only reason I'm looking forward to TS4 is because of the eventual storytime threads here.
It'll be much easier too.
Please guys, PLEASE bring the sims story times back to /v/.
I can't handle that shitty general.
i just downloaded a TS3 torrent at just under 30GB.
has all expansions. dont think it has the DLC though.
but i dont want all that shit cluttering up my inventory.
All i want anyway is seasons, university, and ambitions.
>game is actually the best base sims package to date, and will be the best sims overall
>redditors and 4chedditors are doing the typical whiny "but it's EA so I gave it le epic 0 rating XD" shit
>they'll buy it when it's in a GOTY package with 3 expansions anyways
>the ratings will never be repaired because video game ratings are controlled by reddit where the more you pander the more people will click your 0/10 for all EA games articles to give you ad revenue
Stop posting lain pictures, EA shill.
Some of the TS3 torrents don't remove the patches/mac verison of the game. The patches included in each expack/stuff are fucking huge last time I checked. Some of the patches are bigger than the expack data itself.
>people understand that there are 10 minute loading screens for everything in Sims 3
>they don't understand why lots are instanced in Sims 4
>none of the people who think they're entitled to an opinion have ever had Sims 3 take 5 minutes to catch up with itself after every lot has had 10 new memories of someone dying
I bought it, and only had one crash. And that crash was while I was trying out console commands while my sim was trying to fuck a chick.
The loading screens are kind of dumb at times, especially when you get one going from your house to your neighbor's already loaded house, but that will probably be patched out. Even then, it allows people to actually get to your house and from it quickly. That shit never happened in the sims 3.
It's a better game than vanilla 3. everyone seems to forget how stuttery the game was, and how fucking weird the sims acted. Give the game a few expansions, and it'll be the best sims.
Wouldn't be better to get those from
Oh, we had a lot more sex than that, but no amount is worth what I had to put up with from her. When she started talking about marriage and kids, I gave some serious thought to where my life was going. She already had me working more than I wanted, and she would complain if I devoted any time whatsoever to my hobbies. She went an pulled the, "My birth control failed!" stunt with some poor guy a few months after she moved out, and they had twins. The poor bastard was like nineteen, so he was actually stupid enough to marry her after that. I've seen him with her in the store on a couple of occasions, and he looks fucking miserable.
Literally biologically impossible.
There are some medical treatments (mostly untested) that can render sperm sterile temporarily (or it suppresses the hormones so you dont ejaculate it or something), but again you'd have to take those before, not after.

The best thing that any gamer can do if your a Pro gamer like myself or a casual gamer is to walk away from this game."
That is the funniest review because he calls himself a pro gramer.
>moe shit everywhere
>only plays PC and takes shits throughout the day
10/10. That sums up a good chunk of PC master race here; however, the Gundam model is pretty cool, and the models itself are fun to build.
My problem with TS4 is that there is barely any content in the game compared to all the other games in the series when they were launched and it doesn't take a genius to know that this was intentionally done by EA so people would buy DLC
does anyone have that picture about DLC comparing it to a piece of artwork? that is exactly what is going on here
We don't need a pill. What we need is for the law to hold women solely responsible for pregnancies outside of marriage, since modern women are in complete control of whether or not they have a child. Women are truly equal in our society, but the law still treats them like children.
sounds like a plan to me goy! video games are the real evil in america, not the banks or walmart!
I like building houses. The other stuff can be cool, but as you point out it's sort of lacking. After two generations, you're richer than god. Which is really unfortunate. Even with tax mods, then you worry about the rest of the town. You don't pay for most of the stuff you should be paying for - cabs, insurance, gas, utilities, etc.
Nigga I loved the frats in uni, it just seemed to be shit if you wanted too many credits a semester. You couldn't enjoy the frat parties or crazy shit the town had to offer if all of the time was spent studying, sleeping, and attending classes! Playing as a macho frat guy (who eventually got his shit together after uni and joined the military) was one of my best playthroughs.
0/10 reviews can be proper reviews, but they need text to back that score.
A game can have a complete deal breaker that makes it absolutely unplayable for someone.
Sims 4 has several potential deal breakers like that.
