Why the fuck don't they sell Gamecube games on the eshop?
Does nintendo honestly think I'm gonna shell out over 200 dollars on amazon.nigger for a copy of Super mario sunshine? It's not like I have hundred dollar bills sticking out of every crevice in my house.
Seriously, what in the name of my ass
Are you going to pay 15-20 dollars for ISOs of shit you can play on PC already? You know Nintendo's going to fuck your wallet for these things. They charge eight fucking dollars for a super nintendo game. They dump the rom onto the shop, fart in your face, and you pull out your wallet and inhale deeply. Fuck Nintendo, use your brain.
My computer has no trouble running games on Dolphin. Anyone who thinks that Dolphin runs any game anywhere near perfectly are deluded or never owned a Gamecube/Wii.
Honestly I dont even think its debatable every time i actually debate about it Galaxy-fags bring in Metecritic and spout "BLUE COINS LEL"
Sunshine meets a fucking perfect middle between 64 and Galaxy
Nintendo will probably end up re-releasing GCN titles on eShop when they release the controller adapter
Nigga Dolphin is probably one of the most well-built emulators alongside PPSSPP
Playing Fusion right now, in bed with my laptop on a little fold out table and gamepad paused for a shitposting break.
Niggas can't tell me a few bucks is not worth being able to use off-TV play with the glorious clicky Nintendo d-pad and face buttons.
Shit I'd be willing to pay up to $15 for a Gamecube VC game with off-TV play.
Sunshine was so shit that it forced Nintendo into shifting gears and making games like Galaxy.
>giving the Wind Waker HD treatment to Sunshine
There's many things you can say about Sunshine.
Like how it somehow managed to have less levels than Mario64 even though it came after it.
Or how it watered down the platforming by introducing a crutch like the fludd.
Or how missions get recycled.
Or how it introduced Babby Bowser.
Or how the setting is one sided as fuck.
Or how it managed to remove even more powerups than 64 did.
Its shit. Worst Mario.
Worked for me. Just gotta make sure to use WiiU hacking tools.
It doesnt run Gamecube games properly though.
Or at least I didnt get Gamecube games to run properly.
>Still worse retexture than HD on Wii
>No gameplay improvements (Faster animations, new binds/static binds/camera controls)
>Old text font
>Old slow text
>No larger wallet from get go of the game
>No fast sail
>No upgraded* shading
*shading upgrade completely subjective and in eye of the beholder
>crutch like the fludd
Stopped reading there. Just because a mechanic can occasionally be used as a crutch does not mean it did not introduce new and interesting things to the platforming that could not have been done before.
>Does nintendo honestly think I'm gonna shell out over 200 dollars on amazon.nigger for a copy of Super mario sunshine? It's not like I have hundred dollar bills sticking out of every crevice in my house.
what are you talking about? it's $25 on amazon
Turn off Disable Destination Alpha.
You can stretch it to the sides more, and use aspect corrected textures to offset the aspect stretching.
>>Still worse retexture than HD on Wii
There's a retexture that's just like WWHD
>>No gameplay improvements (Faster animations, new binds/static binds/camera controls)
>>Old text font
Can retexture that too.
>>Old slow text
>>No larger wallet from get go of the game
Cheat if you want.
>>No fast sail
>>No upgraded* shading
And it looks like a major downgrade IMO.
>And it looks like a major downgrade IMO.
And cannot read asterisks
I don't understand Nintendo's approach to VC. It was new with the Wii, so I get how the were only releasing games slowly over time instead of just having a giant dump at the beginning.
But that was last gen and the virtual console is no longer new. So why do they need to sit on a pile of ROMs and still only release a handful every week when pretty much all of them have already been available on the Wii's VC? Everything that was on Wii VC should have been available on Wii U's VC day 1.
It just bugs me on principle though. I would never pay for VC games.
Having played WW on release, Dolphin and HD I can reveal that HD is the best version.
Part of the reason for this, other than streamlining gameplay, is the interactivity you have with other people playing the game. Getting a goofy picture in a Tingle bottle is perhaps my favourite change the HD version made.
If you release everything at once, there is no way games like Ice Hockey even get considered. Also Nintendo will want to save the most hype games for later in the gen when more people have the console and can get sucked in with release hype.
>tfw you realize gamecube and other standard-def games actually look really good if played on SD CRTs.
I actually prefer this to dolphin, even if it upscales and adds antialiasing. on old TVs its low res but the analogue signal blurs things together and you don't actually see jaggies at all. And while dolphin emulation is decent, it's not without its problems and even very common games have tons of glitches, ESPECIALLY when it comes to sound.
Anyone who says "why bother owning a Wii/GC when you can just emulate on PC" probably doesn't have all that much experience with dolphin
Nintendo kinda has strict quality control that the virtual console works really close to original.
On actual Wii even the analog signal is very close to original console and so on.
One other thing is that they want the game have zero hiccups to be a product to be sold. They have come out with stuff like Collector's Disc for gamecube with running N64 games, and the ambadassor GBA games for 3DS, they are kinda free extras because they have(?) imprerfections, so nintendo is OK giving them away in promotion but not as widespread product to be sold.
Especially if you have RGB cables and good CRT it looks really fucking fine.
And You sound like rationilizing for "I DO NOT NEEEED TO BUY STUFF IT IS BETTER IF I PIRATE IT ANYWAY" - but I did not need to pull that card first it seems.
>a crutch isnt a crutch lalalala I cant hear you and I will ignore the rest of the post
Yes. What a great debater you are.
Its everybody else who cant bring up any proper points.
Middleground between 64 and Galaxy my ass.
Sunshine was 64 in worse.
Galaxy might be the middleground between 64 and 3D World but Sunshine is just the ugly forgotten stepchild.
eternal reminder that nintendo will never ever add a game to virtual console that allows you to play an even older nintendo game within it. That means no Zero Mission, Animal Crossing, SM All Stars, etc on VC ever.
You are the fucking stupid one. If it's a TUBE it isn't a flat screen.
"Flat screen" doesn't mean no curvature in the screen. It means the TV doesn't have a cathode ray tube sticking out the back of it.
True, but I just hate how many games have fucked up sound and random framerate spikes. It works great most of the time, but the couple times it borks out on me just makes me wish I played my original cube to begin with
They have to program new emulators for every system they bring out.
Those same emulators need to be adjusted for every game they put up.
Its the same with the PS1 emulator in the PSP.
Not all games work by default.
The screen surface is flat.
The SCREEN is flat.
That is the term that is used about flat screened CRT's late in CRT market's lifetime.
It is FLAT SCREEN, not Flat TV. That is why LCD TV's are called LCD's or whatever.
There also was flat profile CRT's too. VERY late as well but, those exists.
Also 720p compatible CRT's exist albeit more common in murrica and not so much in europe.
Prolly because they haven't perfected teh gamecube emulator they want.
It's the number 1 reason they don't make N64 VCs and are instead shifting focus to handhelds on the WiiU. because tehy're relatively easy to emulate on the hardware.
Somewhat older though it has gamemode which I feel to work adequately well.
I had photo of the model number because I upgraded the software which my friend never did
I am actually so poor that I had to buy my first HDTV/wiiU used from friend and I am effectively still paying them.
Incorrect. Screen refers to the unit itself, not just the actual front panel.
CRTs and flat screens are two completely different types of TV. The whole point of the T in CRT means that you have a huge backend on the TV, ie it isn't flat.
you don't know shit. Wii U has the hardware to natively play gamecube, since it has the Wii's hardware and the Wii's hardware is the same as GC's.
Things like vWii aren't using emulation to run GC games on Wii U
>3DS isn't getting GBA
>3DS isn't getting GBA
>Advanced handheld isn't getting easily emulated handheld games
Nothing is good anymore.
I don't understand why gamecube games are so pricey to begin with. Or third party games on the gamecube for another thing.
I can get a complete copy of Timesplitters Future Perfect on the PS2 for 10 bucks. Why the hell is it 40 on the cube?
speaking as Nintendo/PC player, Nintendo makes some really terrible business decisions
they could easily set up a virtual link cable between nearby 3ds' and push ROMs of Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow for $4.99 each
same with GSC
plenty of other games they could release as well
>And wii mode is part of Wii U, you stupid fuck
In order for the WiiU to enter Wii mode it essentially has to underclock itself until it reaches the same specs as the Wii hardware. The same way the GBA "VCs" work on 3DS.
The entire reason they don't mass release the GBA VCs is because how low quality they are in comparison to the other VCs.
If they ONLY consider what you propose then were never getting GC VCs until maybe next gen Nintendo console.
There I spoonfed you you retarded faggot.
No, you're thinking of the term flat panel. Flat screen means exactly what it sounds like. The screen is flat. The two terms have been conflated by retards so I completely understand why you're confused.
No they don't.
From Alphaomegasin to anyone else they refer to their CRT's as "flatscreen CRT" - And even with that shitheads weird unit thing, there exists flat CRT units, they are not anything as flat as CRT's TFT's or LEDs but still flat in relation.
The CRT quality may not be fucking trinitron though but There is like two good reasons why it isn't only me calling him an idiot.
They make their money by selling new Pokemon games.
And where do you live that you could find multiple people with 3DS systems that want to play oldass Gameboy games together when newer alternatives exist?
Not him but the only loader I know of for GC is Devolution and that requires you to have the original GC disc in the drive before loading an ISO. Unless you know of some that DO let you use straight iso's, which I would much appreciate because I would love to run GC iso's on my Wii
No you are still confused. The screen end of the CRT is always curved, that's how it has to be for it to work.
What you think is "flat" is just the glass screen between you and the tube.
You don't seem to understand what rear projection means either.
Rear projection and LCD are two different type of TVs. I do not even know how you could confuse the two, you must be thinking of the LCD backlight which has nothing to do with the image.
Please just google this and save yourself further embarassment from being schooled.
>Or how it watered down the platforming by introducing a crutch like the fludd.
There is several people, even AVGN refers to his newer TV in the room as "flatscreen TV" at one point - he does not even say CRT but that is what he is talking about.
It is not seriously me who is misinformed here.
>Or how missions get recycled.
I prefer few but memorable levels than a fuckload of forgettable levels, like Galaxy
Again, incorrect. You've seen "LCD" somewhere in relation to the technology behind a type of rear projection and assumed it to be the same as that used in typical LCD TVs. It's not.
Like I said, you could avoid this embarrassment of showing yourself to be entirely ignorant of this topic if you just did a little research.
you really think some people ("retro gamers") wouldn't hop on that train right away?
wireless "retro" pokemon trades/battles
add support to pokemon bank for transferring between VC savedgames and that's another $4.99
Fludd allows these sick skips.
Shit you couldn't do by simple platforming.
If you are unwilling to accept that RP and LCD are two entirely different types of television then clearly it is you that has the problem.
Am I getting trolled here or are you genuinely upset about being wrong?
So you're going to avoid the question and avoid doing any research of your own and simply spout ad hominem?
I will restate: RP and LCD are both types of TV. They are not the same.
How is it wrong when there is even a fucking article explaining what is difference between flatscreen CRT to conventional CRT.
We can keep at this but thus far you have not backed up your claim, not from conventional language standpoint and not even external sources that your use of terminology is somewhat right and my assertions or back ups are wrong in anyway, other than anon in anonymous board said it is wrong so THAT MUST MAKE IT WRONG THEN I GUESS - because you proven to be such an great authority on the subject.
Yes. Avoiding the whole level is really based.
You Sunshine fans are fucking retarded.
Anybody who played world acknowledges that the cape is ridiculous but you faggots cant stop praising that shitty fludd.
This is where you are wrong. RP is a type of television. You can do a quick google search to confirm this and yet you are so unwilling.
Allow me to fill you in on a little history:
CRTs were the first and most abundant, but later RP was introduced as it allowed larger screen sizes but the overall image quality was poorer.
RP was replaced by LCD and plasma screens.
You could literally find this out by googling.
Even wikipedia proves you wrong there:
Talking about Flat screen
When differiniating between TFT/CRT you are talking about flat PANEL vs. CRT panel.
This is where you are confused. RP uses the same technology as CRT, LCD and DLP but in a different way to those televisions.
There are 6 categories of TV: CRT, RP, DLP, LCD, LED and Plasma.
It's all on the wiki.
He is saying that the term is wrong.
That saying "flatscreen" means the whole TV is not flat and not just screen surface.
he is this fucking retarded especially when it was followed by photo of flat screen CRT
oh look he's too young to remember when tube TVs had curved glass
This is where you are confused again. CRT is a tube, it isn't a panel at all. If you actually looked at the image in your link you would see that CRTs are not at all flat, but in fact quite thick and curved.
>If you actually looked at the image in your link you would see that CRTs are not at all flat, but in fact quite thick and curved.
>"What happened? Did the perpetrator get away?"
>"That is Pinna Island. The villain's secret hideout must be there!"
>"A strange old man...in a white coat...?"
>"It appears to be heading towards Corona Mountain!"
>"Mario, was I...of...assis...tance?"
>"The vacation starts now!"
When talking about fucking panel difference
Holy shit how many times you need to tell us you are fucking retard and cannot even present arguments or even break an argument apart than just quit and maybe show us you are not completely syndrome of the down by admitting you were not right here.
This was not even posted that fucking long time ago.
"Flat and Thin"
"Flat CRTs are considerably thinner than earlier CRTs, although still not as thin as flat panel displays. By the way, LCD and plasma displays are also called "flat screens." See flat panel display and flat panel TV."
>Avoiding the whole level is really based.
It actually is, and it feels remarkably satisfying, especially if it takes platforming skill and knowledge of the level layoff to pull off.
Of course, a person with autism such as yourself is probably bothered when people try to find faster, more innovative ways to complete game objectives.
Look at the right image. That is what you think flat means.
Do you know why you haven't posted anything that shows a "flat" CRT?
Because it doesn't exist. You've allowed yourself to become backed so far into a corner that now you're just arguing to save face.
>Do you know why you haven't posted anything that shows a "flat" CRT?
Because I'm not doing your fucking homework for you. You need to read up, I already pointed you in the right direction now get to it.
You seem like one of those bitchy girls with a a-cup boob size trying to convince the world you aren't flat. That tv is flat enough on the right for me to consider flat. So stop it, nigger
Lets see what the 1990's called "flatscreens."
>Play any and every GC game you can get your hands on
That is false though, with dios mios at least,
Some games have music issues
Some games just generally have issues. I cannot get skies of arcadia work right for life of me.
>Hurr durr flat screens only refers to thin displays..
