What is the single greatest boss fight in the history of video games?
towards the end of Shin's arc his own men rebel against him thinking he's crazy, he fucks up the conspirators but it was too late and the entire city just descended into chaos and mayhem. When Kenshiro gets there the next day it's a ghost city.
Basically how every fucking strategy game I play ends up for me.
>that moment when she first opens her mouth
Bloodwing from Borderlands 2
>all those elements
>not allowed to just M1 you way through the fight
>Jack taunting you over the radio
>trying to keep bloodwing alive
>Mordecai's reaction at the end.
One of the few things I really liked about that game.
I want to watch Hokuto no Ken again, did it ever come out on a better format than the old (I assume) DVD rips?
You know what would've been a thousand fucking times better?
>Free Bloodwing in the compound
>She's normal-sized and will rest on a player when they stop moving
>No "HOLY SHIT EVERY ELEMENT" boss fight
>Jack taunts you as you get locked in the Observation deck
>Starts launching shit at you from fucking space
>Waves of Loaders
>Something dark approaching through the wave event
>Before the event ends, Jack reveals it's a nuke set to your location
>Bloodwing takes off
>Mordecai cuts in, yelling for her to come to him
>The nuke goes off and Bloodwing is gone
Mordecai still gets to be pissed at Jack, so everything remains the same in the end. It's just less forced than "Your bird is huge now, so shoot it!"
zoe2 had a good end boss but i had a big problem with it because you had to fight anubis and super anubis on the same life, and you pretty much had to spam the super weapon that you get at the end to win
I've fought much harder and "epic" bosses since then, but I don't think anything has trumped that feeling I had as a kid when this screen popped up playing through Crystal. Fighting yourself from the previous game was so mindblowing to me.
yeah during anubis final form, i just spamed that attack, i hated that move where he throws a bunch of energy at you and you can't escape made me rage so hard, on another note the game was to short i wish it was longer.
>Well this boss room looks a decent size for a human bos-
>NOPE YOU'RE STUCK IN THAT CORNER FAGGOT
Don't you dare rob the old man of the last fight of his life, the sniper duel he's always wanted and the fitting death to his fellow protege of The Boss. And, in a more meta way, don't rob YOURSELF of one of the best bossfights in videogames.
Shame no one actually played this on Wii or PS3.
One of the best fights of the game.
Solo Wing Pixy
>Those Burst Missiles
>That spanish guitar
Vergil 2 from DMC3
3 was good but the area you fight him in was a weird shape and size and I personally think he goes DT way too often as opposed to 2 where everything is perfect (besides not having access to Beowulf first time around)
Nethack gets some points for "OH FUCK SHIT JUST GOT REAL" with the three horsemen.
Death's a bitch.
the fist fight with ocelot at the end of MGS4
the ray vs rex fight in MGS4
final boss (bogey 1 & 2) in vanquish
the bear from metro last light
the giant dragon jet mech thing from ACV/verdict day (i cant remember which)
lake monster from RE4
that's all i can think of right now.
Kenshiro faggot here.
Ya, there is a remastered dvd with redone subtitles out. Volumes are also at a pretty reasonable price for a long series.
I actually ordered the PS3 version just now. I have both of them for Wii, but the first one is censored in Europe (where I live) and the PS3 version is not. Looking forward to it.
I don't have Playstation Move though, so I'm not sure how it will play without it.
>he didn't track his parrot or follow his footsteps
Discotek is pretty bro. They release a lot of old and obscure Japanese video which would never get an English releases otherwise. They also do a good job with their subtitles and don't charge ridiculous prices.
I guess. It just sucks that peoples limbs get cut off, but there's no blood. Who the hell thought censoring NMH 1 was a good idea?
My personal favorites are:
Henry Cooldown (NMH)
Psycho Mantis (MGS1)
The Fury (MGS3)
Senator Armstrong (MGR:R)
I've played both versions, though I'm in the US so neither is censored.
PS3 version plays fine, and has much better graphics, but the framerate is just fucking terrible, and there's more pop-in and graphical glitches in general. The controls are also less responsive, for whatever reason.
It's still a blast on any system, I wish more people appreciated how good NMH was.
Suda needs to make 3 pronto.
Just fucking terrible at times* such as when you're fighting a mob of like 7 enemies or during a heated boss fight.
It's never unplayable or anything, so, don't worry too much.
Mr. Icebox from Arkham City.
The series had many forgettable bosses but this one was good
Alright. I'm kinda worried how it will play without the motion controls, never thought I'd say that. I tried the demo and it felt kinda off to me, like not doing the motion when you're finishing off an enemy. Maybe I just have to get used to it
>tfw most chicks who are sincerly into vidya and animu are fat
i guess i'll never have tomoko has my gf, but i can drean
>tfw you realise your numbers meaning nothing before him
>buff men posing in stripper outfits
Don't mind me, just best boss of all time coming through.
I found them at Amazon. They're honestly quite pricey especially since I never buy anime. I find it hard to believe nobody ripped these superior quality episodes. Also the covers, why are they so awful? They look like Beavis and Butthead.
Collect all Emeralds
Beat Final Boss, put controller down expecting credits
Music starts: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7FAffWEmB3I
At least for me it always will be, not a difficult boss but damn was it memorable.
I didn't even know people had crazy long epic boss fights with him until i started going on 4chan
I just ran up to him and shot him and thought that it was an ok boss fight
It didn't even take long
Doesn't every single Platinum have at least one HnK reference?
And I’m not talking about Edo Tensei Madara. I’m talking about Rinne Tensei Madara Uchiha with the Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan and Rinnegan and with rikidou techniques, his Gunbai, a Perfect Susano’o and control of the juubi and Gedou Mazou, with Hashirama Senju’s DNA implanted in him so he also has mokuton kekkei genkai and yin-yang release ninjutsu.
>not Liquid Ocelot
I can NOT fucking believe you passed this one up.
I met Jon and Ego at a con a while ago, I went with my girlfriend. When we approached them Jon looked at me then at my girlfriend and said "The fuck you doing with this stupid cunt? Get with this dick or get raped you whore.", I was completely shocked and didn't know if he was joking so I stood in silence just not sure of what to say. Then a voice was heard from behind him "Oh Jon you found another goofball?", "Yeah Ego, this one looks like a complete dick head, his girlfriend is pretty banging though, I'd fuck her asshole", "Oh yeah, maybe we should fill his girlfriend ass with goofballs so she'd know how much of a goofball he is". Right at that moment Jon jumped on my girlfriend and pulled her pants down, I tried to stop him but Ego jumped on me and held me down he started whispering in my ear "She's going to get the goofballs and you aint going to do nothing about it!", I watched on in horror as my girlfriend stared at me in the eyes as Jon undressed her and rammed his fingers up her ass, she was trying to scream but Jon just kept pushing her head down. Jon looked at me and mouthed the word "Goofball", It was like a silent movie, I watched as Jon then proceeded to pull out his testicles and forcibly push them into her anus with his hands. Ego who was still holding me down started to squeal into my ear "She's getting the goofballs", he started to twist my nipple as far as it could go, and I could feel blood trickling from it onto my shirt, I felt what I can assume was Egos boner pushing into my back... I blacked out.
Ah ha ha! Ah ha ha! GENOSIDE CUTTAH Ah ha ha! Ah ha ha!
The whole anime series was shit with shitty filler+pacing issues up the ass
I liked the ost and kenshiro's aratata but that's it
The anime is worst than the manga and there is literally no reason to watch it instead of the manga
but Raoh's hair was black in the anime you colossal retard
>not liking the best fight in the series
>Not liking when You wa shock starts playing during the final blow where Kenshiro wrecks that faggot of a character Kaioh
>Not liking the part where Kenshiro's fist IS Hokuto Shinken and the strongest in the World
YOU have obviously autism if you cry because one of your pricious fictional character dies.
Just write a fucking fanfiction where gets resurrected and lives a happy life, holy fuck.
You guys are fucking autistic, worse than bronies or sanic tards
>punching a god so hard, she flow into the sun and dies
>fighting dante in dante must die
shit was almost beyond intense.
Who Goes First... How About Me?
>Music Kicks Up.
>Game is based around QTEs
>Final boss gets his own QTEs
>Starts to fail them
+A great test of your skill, fast and punishing
+No cheap ohko moves, meaning if you die it's your fault
+Most bosses are weak to certain builds, but Manus is all around challenging
+rewards exploring the level beforehand with the Silver Pendant
-Can be hit before the entering the arena, which can make the fight 10x easier
>Firearms are in abundance but very few vehicles are in operation
>Vehicles are in abundance but very few firearms are in operation
It's like poetry
You need the ring that extends bow range, and then just stand on the ledge next to the fog door where you can see his eyes. It's hard to hit him, and any real damage needs lots of arrows, but you can still do it
I'm sorry, but did I already lose? Oh, that's right. The battle isn't even over yet. In fact, this is only my second form. Does not having the lead at during my second form count as a loss? Is that what you're saying? Because if you're saying that I can assure you that you're wrong. Why would you make this topic when the battle is still going on? I'm still standing right now and I have been the biggest threat to humanity for how many years now? I'm battling one of the worst parties in the game who just happen to have a lead because they're feeding off the energy of battling the final boss. But you know what? You still fucking suck. I'm one of the hardest fucking bosses in this game, I even managed to KILL the main character and he would have stayed dead if it wasn't for some stupid magic bullshit. Maybe you should shut the fuck up before you make retarded topics like this. You know why? Because you're going to be embarrassed when I win and someone bumps this topic. Oh look at that, Crono's luminaire attack missed when he really needed it to hit, just like Frog did. Are you a fucking drunk? Are you retarded? Are you autistic? You are a fucking idiot and you should never make a topic on this board again and I'm fucking serious. I almost have a feeling you're the only guy making all these anti-Lavos topics because you're a faggot hater who doesn't like me because I can destroy everything you love. Fuck you, be good at something in YOUR life and then maybe try to troll other bosses on the board, like I give a fuck. It's so easy to spot out your threads now, you're a retard. Always doing stupid shit like this. Why don't you try to be a good poster? Just for once? For once in your fucking life try not to make a topic like this. That's just you, you're always right at getting it wrong. Fuck you. You are nothing.
I was expecting a lot more from "The End" after hearing so much about it.
It isn't hard, it isn't extraordinarily "fun," you're just looking for the guy until you see him and then shoot him, he runs away and you repeat until he's dead.
It's the only boss that utilizes camo and stealth. It makes you feel like you're tracking someone through the jungle. There's also 2 alternate ways to beat him, and one of them is waiting for him to die of old age. It was the second best boss in the game.
It was not a hard fight. The game itself wasn't hard, not by a long shot. But the music that plays and the last line Ayesha says before she fights it,
I don't care! Give me back Nio!was incredibly memorable to me.
Yea, it'd depend. Dio was always curious and generally let other people get close to see their power and then going all-out. If he underestimates Josuke and lets him get one punch in, he'd be fucked. If he knew Josuke's power he'd obviously not wait around to see what it is and just kill him outright.
Final fight in Metal Gear 4:
Combat was extremely shitty. They should have polished and improved it. It showcases how hard of a boner Kojima has for western fight movies, to the point where it copies the worst camera movements for QTEs.
He was fucking fun, but area transition and smide stuff notched it down from 10/10.
Its up there, at the least.
>Dio was always curious and generally let other people get close to see their power and then going all-out
He did the opposite in Part 3. He watched them over the months and studied what they could do. If anything Dio just underestimated Jotaro adapting to THE WORLD.
Daimon boss fight in Dark Arisen, The music, The atmosphere, his moveset, everything
I forgot how fuckin stupid that thing looked.
Kingdom Hearts is one of those games I loved as a kid but I know would be dogshit if I tried to replay it now, therefore I just let it live on in my memory.
no idea about greatest, but this one is pretty neat
Is the Lost Planet series worth playing? I
rentedthe first one back when it first came out but didn't really get into it. Also I don't think i've ever seen it discussed on /v/.
I remember how ridiculously intense and amazing this fight was at the time, what an awesome memory
The entirety of LP2 campaign you can play in multiplayer. /v/ beat it when it was on steam sale couple of months ago.
LP1 has a better single player campaign but if you didn't find tps mixed with mecha fighting appealing at first, it does little to win you over.
>the whole buildup to this fight
>battling 100 of his minions just to get to him
>that final boss kind of feeling
>that interesting battle mechanic
>frog finally getting his justice
>going up against the most badass mage of any 2D jRPG
>all that shit that goes down as a direct result of this fight
forever my favorite. this track alone sends chills up the spine
>Fist of the North Star
See, this is why you nostalgiafags can never be taken seriously.
Hakuto no Ken was entertaining as fuck, but in no way was it objectively "good". It was filled to the brim with reused animation, Ken is the poster boy of moralfag Gary Stus who never gave the impression that he was capable of losing, and a huge part of it was copy/paste villain of the week shit.
Modern anime is much more diverse and has better quality. The problem is since its not mainstream and manly action shows aren't spoonfed to single-minded american shounenfags via cable television anymore, you have to wade through a lot of stuff you don't like to get to the stuff you do, thus this idea that "modern anime is just moeshit and betafags now wah" when in reality you're just lazy and closed-minded.
But seriously, fuck you. It was a shitty bossfight that was just a throwback to the first shitty bossfight in the series.
I liked the last boss of Okami how the whole story folded in on itself and Issun helped you in the end even though he couldn't get on the ship as a celestial envoy.
And yeah, its mirrored in Mother 2 (Which actually did it first) but I think that was special in its own way like praying out into the darkness which was also great.
Okami's version wins out slightly more to me though, I think the characters were just far more likable.
Thanks for supporting the industry!
