Truly this phrase has lost all fucking meaning. It's become a complete non-sequitur, nearly always completely unrelated to the post it's referring to.
>there are people who don't own The Simpsons Seasons 1 - 8 on DVD
>they're acting as though the FXX Marathon will change their lives
Oh shut your fat mouth. It's getting tipped just for you because you're one of those insufferable nerds who think jump scares aren't real scares and they need LE silent hill atmosphere.
It's pretty easy, actually. If a game is designed in such a way as to keep you anxious or on edge all the time, then it'll typically stress out those who play it.
And obviously there's just shit like getting stressed during a difficult segment of a game that you have trouble beating.
I'm not even the poster you were originally talking to, I'm just extremely tired of seeing that damn phrase crop up in the wrong context.
You're also reading way too much into that post. All he said was that it was stressful, not scary. He didn't mention jump scares or Silent Hill. Maybe he's just not scared of animatronics? If something isn't scary to someone, then a horror game featuring that something is probably going to fall flat for them.
>liking zombie seasons
Jump scares are also pretty reliant on the game actually trying to make the player tense and anxious in the first place. Sure, a jump scare that comes out of nowhere when the player is totally calm is shocking, but it probably won't elicit as dramatic of a response as one that pops up when the player is already staring wide-eyed at the screen, heart racing and on the lookout for danger.
In after LEL DAT WAS NOT MEE
Hah not him but thats always the cop out when someone gets BTFO. And whether it was you or not you assumed the tipping had no reason like an idiot when it wasn't even directed to you.
Go back to reddit fag, those games suck.
It wasn't him, it was me.
It wasn't scary because
my PC is shit and the jump scares happened in slow motion with the sound effects long passed
The characters are just goofy looking and the bear is chill as fuck.
The joke is the same, maybe even a little more heavy handed, but I think I prefer this version.
Tomorrow, 10 AM EST.
>It will only be good for about three days
>The Simpsons have been bad longer than good
