It was a decent little game, but it didn't really have that much depth so I grew bored of it myself rather quickly.

If you're just getting into ASSFAGGOTS I would suggest playing HoN since it has fun non-serious modes to learn the heroes before diving into the real game. It's also faster paced and is less carry-centric than Dota 2.

LoL is by far the worst and if you're gonna play a game for casuals you might as well play Strife since it actually makes the mechanics of the game simpler and more enjoyable whereas LoL just neuters them without making the game easier to get into.
