Your brain can fake a lot of things even when you don't have all the physical feedback. Rollercoasters and stuff like this in the DK2 does give me the same sensations as the real deal. I experienced the sensation of falling, albeit a bit reduced. It all depends on the experience.

I haven't tried HL2 yet, I'm waiting for proper integration to the dk2 and the release of the STEM or other VR tracking hardware. But I already know it's gonna be by far the best gaming experience I ever had. Everyone who tried HLVR with the Hydra said the same thing.

And don't underestimate the importance of immersion in porn. Now I do want more, but like I said I can't go back to regular 2d porn. Having the girl right in front of you and her tits bounce 5cm away from your face owns any porn I fapped to until now. You have to try it at least.

DK2 is amazing but there are lots of kinks that need to be fixed right now, before it's ready for even the enthousiast market. Black smearing, judder, ease of use, software integration, needs better lenses, screen door effect is still there (will be gone for CV1 though), and resolution needs to be at least 1440p (it will be).

All this stuff will be fixed when it's released at least a year from now, and it will be worth the wait. Trust me.

Games work best when you have an economy of motion. Big actions are done by small presses, which allows you to play the game without getting tired, and perform feats that would be patently ridiculous in real life. VR controls can't simulate that.

I would have agreed with you before trying ths DK2, but now I understand that VR games and experiences are nothing like 2d monitors, and that it will most likely be a physical experience down the road. I think I'm ready to trade regular games for more physical and engaging games, and HL2 VR should give me a final answer when I will play it.

It is as you must understand a very different notion of fun. It is up to you to decide if it will be your kind of fun or not. But don't knock it before you try it.

The two renders can be done in literally any 3D program, it doesn't require any special programming. Certain shortcuts and render methods might cause things to render incorrectly or at the wrong distances, but this is rarely an issue.

You do not have to "completely redo the camera system," and as stated you can translate the head tracking into traditional inputs.

On top of all that, japanese porn games are often modded to hell and back, it would be trivial to disable the UI or change the UI to fit the rift, assuming any changes are needed at all.
