> LOL Xfats rekt once again.
It's a big deal because games proported to be running on the actual Xbone hardware are running on PCs instead; PCs that might have stronger specs than the console.
It's effectively false advertising, anon.
False advertising is false advertising.
It's also more of a concern when MS does it with the Xbone since they face the harshest criticism for bringing an underpowered system to the table.
I remember that picture, actually. It was from the EA party area in their stupid booth. NFS was on a four-sided station with two other racing games, I think. Most of the stuff in the EA area was running on PC.
I know, anon. I was just throwing the 'might' in there to help the other guy understanding.
Any rational person knows those PCs are tricked out like mad. Wasn't there that photo from the E3 in 2013 with the PC with two SLI'd Titans in it in the MS show space?
>Why would we want to know if we're being lied to.
I bet you bought Colonial Marines and just shrugged it off when it turned out to be complete shit compared to pre-release material
How much is the pay for Sonyshills? I have Nintendo/M$ consoles, but i need the quick change and I'd shitpost for money.
>mfw I have microsoft stocks
i-im just hoping their hyperlapse technology gets put to good use.
It's a fun night on /v/.
How do you feel about your biggest exclusive coming to console?
>gameplay video on the official Xbox channel
>XBone ad edited into the footage
Of course anon, how silly of me to assume MS meant the footage was from their console instead of their direct competitor's.
>Xbone still on "we shipped 5 million units" from 2 months ago
>no games besides 1 remaster and Dragon Donte
>worst multiplats by far
>outsold by the WiiU for 4 months in a row
>day1 edition still available at amazon
Not even the sega saturn had it this bad.
Even MS knows how shit is 8.
Here's where Xfags can go, right where all your precious consoles will be in about a year.
Mustard race here
PCs are better adapted to running for long periods in enclosed spaces
The only game they mention is Ori which is an unfinished product
the article also states Sony has been doing it too.
It had one huge black box covering the buttons, it just happened to go away for half a frame so that anyone could snap it. This video was over a month old, and ONLY an hour after it was posted on /v/ they decided to take it down. They have literally no excuses, they fucked up and wanted to hide it.
>Implying I'd give money to either dying company
I was thinking about getting a PS4 during the holidays, but since every fucking thing is getting a PC release there's no point.
Multiplats killed consoles, and I'm laughing as you babies cry
It's 5M shipped to stores.
They're still probably 4.5M or worse.
And they've been 4.something for months and months.
Meanwhile the PS4 has been gone from 7 to 8.4 to 10 in like 4 months.
Lel i cant believe it. So thats why there have been so many graphic scaledowns. Microsoft are not even trying to metigate the problem by just having less graphics in games. They are still demoing with max pc gaphics even though they cant ever live up to it. That is legit horrible.
PS4 is selling well because Xbone blundered so bad even fratboys saw through it.
The Wii U is selling bad because muh graphics and kiddy games.
Xbone selling worse than the Wii U, I don't care if Wii U has been out one more year, that's just tragic.
Its not false advertising
basically Microsoft makes all their games on PC, ports down to Xbone then if the sales are bad they can release the PC version later and continue to make money
Its not only smart, its an insanely lucrative business position that allows them to take risks.
>Make Banjo Threeie even though no one plays platformers
>Game sells ok on Xbone, but not enough
>Release on PC due to direct X and how an entire game can be ported by 4 people in under a month.
>make fat stacks
its part of their new business plan, and having a failsafe for Xbone
>everyone is okay with false advertisement because it's been going on so long and everyone does it
Complacency is poison
I still thinks there should be a law against it. You're selling me a game to run in a specific hardware, then you better advertise it running in it. If you're running into a PC, then you have to atleast confirm the PC version before showcasing and it should always have a warning stating in what hardware it's running. That's the only consumer friendly way to do it.
>"if the sales are bad they can release the PC version later and continue to make money"
>"release the PC version later and continue to make money"
>"continue to make money"
>show off "next-gen" games on PC
>PC's specs BTFO Xbone and PS4
>final console product is absolute shit by comparison
>getting away with false advertisement
Why is this allowed?
Because games in the past could not actually run on Windows you know?
When developing they connected their PCs with cables to devkits to test it.
Games actually made good use of the target hardware back then, specially when many times consoles where much cheaper than equivalent PC hardware.
But when you have games that run on PCs, probably even with better performance, but you release them as "exclusives" for an inferior system, this is why people should be enraged.
I don't even understand why people don't just boycott Microsoft consoles after this, it is plain lies and greedyness. There is actually no need for an XBox One, since is nothing more than a PC inside a pretty case plus some controllers.
Any game made for XBone (and possibly PS4) can ran on PC, I'm pretty sure that most of them have PC versions already, used during development, but of course, they stay locked with devs.
How is it not false advertising if they're making people think the game will look as good as it does on a powerful PC on their weaker Xbone? It's straight deception.
And Microsoft aren't developing these titles themselves, anon.
Also, a competent PC port usually costs around $1,000,000 and isn't something you slap together in a week.
I really think you don't know what you're talking about. MS' business decision here is pretty transparent.
>we have a weaker machine than the competition
>we get shit on for having games that look and run worse than the competition
>so we can't show a game running on native hardware because it will look shitty
>let's just lie about it and pretend, and by the time someone buys the game and realizes they got hoodwinked, it won't matter
I though people already knew about this...
The Wii U is still using the same architecture as the Wii and GC, but Microsoft and Sony actually went with PCs with a custom OS this gen
Honestly, I'd blame EA more than Sony in this case since BF4 has been plagued with awful issues since it got released.
Not to say Sony is blameless, but I'd expect EA to be scummier faster than Sony.
Random PC footage for a trailer showing 50 games is nothing compared to having physical Xbones at trade shows to pretend it's running on them and have PCs with TITANS under the desks.
This just shows how desperate MS is.
I will never understand why do you hate this so much
I bought xbox one to play at the evening after work. I am not a hardcore player, I am usually playing only trending games 1-2 hours in a day.
I dont fucking care about the fps or resolution, I just want to play games and relax. I bought xone and not ps4 because I had x360 for years before this, and I prefer the controller more from ms.
i love how retards keep saying shit like "LOL xbone uses pcs for demos" "lol ps# uses pcs for demos"
CONSOLES ARE FUCKING PCS YOU IDIOTS. the only difference is that they have extreme restrictions on the software you can use. literally nothing else. the joke isnt that they are using pcs for demos, the joke is the idiots that keep buying proprietary crap, YOU are the joke
Are you retarded, anon? Or just pretending?
The difference between an Xbone and a PC is that the PCs being used to demo these games are appreciably more powerful than the Xbone.
Therefore, it's disingenuous to suggest the images on the screens at these stations are an accurate representation of how it will look/play on the Xbone.
I thought this much was apparent.
>MFW Damage control that Sony would NEVER EVER run demos on PC
He's saying that unlike the previous generation where the core architecture was different, this gen PC/bone isn't. Making changes isn't as difficult as it once was. Pretty much play these exclusive games easily enough in the office with a keyboard and mouse. (during development)
It's a bad business practice. Their job is to convince you that they're selling something worth your while, but shit like this is indicative that they're admitting they're selling you something inferior to other options,
