Because storm king is an elder god tier boss fight. even if easy, it was a fucking experience
Funny way to spell Valley of Defilement
I wonder who could be behind this post?
>finally defeat the Tower Night
>tells me that I have to defeat the final boss of some other stage
>go to the stonefang tunnel
>defeat iron spider
>next boss is the fucking flamelurker
Any tips? I'm thinking I may need a water hose.
Id argue the valley is the best world. Its the only world where I felt a sincere sense of dread. Id argue it was even scarier then latria.
The class that allows you to use the mirdan hammer the fastest. Upgrade it to blessed, grab the regenerator ring, use the adjudicator shield, and always have second chance up
Congratulations, you now have wolverine-tier healing factor
Yeah. Go there, and right before the first fog gate, jump from that extending plank into the leaves. Then pick up the mace and get out. It's even better since skeletons are weak to magic.
I miss when DeS was the only Souls game....such good threads. Not saying the new games such or anything; it was just more civil.
I can't even find people to summon me or invade. Twice since I started playing I've had someone summon me why is game dead? I didn't like Dork Souls when I played is Dork Souls II any better?
Man that's just a shit opinion if I've ever read one. Storm king was barely above dragon God, which is by far the worst boss in any souls game.
What was good about storm king at all, let alone to be so high in your eyes?
depends on you man. It's pretty objective. daS and DeS are amazing to me, but DaS2 was just okay to me. The DLC helped me like it a bit more since the new area was pretty interesting. Sorry about DeS being sorta dead. I got summoned as the old monk boss twice the other day and I got summoned to help someone for the flamelurker too. I was around soul level 70 though so that might be the reason. It hurts me when people didn't get to play DeS in its prime. It was amazing.
I feel sad knowing this awesome game is dying. I see tons of ghost people around but none summon or get invaded when I try. I think I'm SL 37 or 38 now. Might pick up Dork Souls II just because I want the multiplayer experience. Gonna hate being invaded and rekt by hardcore PvP nerds though. Never had any PvP experience in Souls
I used to love to lord it over people that DeS was ps3 only, but nowadays I really do wish anyone could be able to play it. I agree that the new community might not appreciate DeS though.
it is very worth it. DeS has an amazing pve experience that was ENHANCED by the multiplayer aspect.
Fuck that guy that always leaves shitty messages
>First time playing ever
>See blue glowing pit with stuff down there
>Message says fall through
>YOU HAVE DIED
Fucking Demon's Souls
Soul Memory killed Dark Souls 2 for me. In DeS/DaS I had a connection with my characters, but in DaS2 they just feel expendable, and temporary. Once you get into the hell zone there's no escape
unless you backup your saves
I'll post what DeS related shti I have until the thread dies or I run out.
It's a shame Souls PVP is such shit.
forgive the trollface. this was back when it wasn't reddit-tier shit.
Thief, because it's fun as fuck playing with daggers.
it's pretty barren. You might find people to play with at lower levels, but I doubt it. Pvp in 4-1 is kind of active still at SL 120ish.
Also Maiden in Black is the best waifu.
Back when I played DeS I would leave messages on the bodies of dead knights, especially those in the tents in the plague town in valley of defilement.
Things such as:
"This place again..."
I know, autism. Strangely they were always rated very highly. I'm guessing some people liked the idea of feverish poisoned knights spending their last days in that hellhole.
if anything; Marvelous Chester will make an appearance in Bloodborne. He had to have been an easter egg that Miyazaki put into the dlc.
I did I have to admit. It saved me a few times my first playthrough. Put it in front of a boss fog gate and you can get healed a few times.
I fucking hate this shit. Though it's easy to read once you get used to it but really who the fuck thought it would be better to have random symbols rather than dex/str/fire/etc
The Souls community has an insanely elitist attitude at times. We'll ignore the people who are super serious about PvP, because honestly the netcode alone should make most people realize it's a waste of time to try to be "good" at it(it's fun, and sure you can be decent at it, but you have to take it with a grain of salt which a lot of players don't).
That, and there's just a lot of in-fighting. People who claim one game is better than the other. I find all Souls games to be fun in their own ways, and don't really care to argue the point. Another good example comes from all the people who champion having DeS on PS3 and try to hold it over the heads of PC players(as if some of us don't actually fucking own a PS3...). It's just shit like that.
More or less, it's just the usual shit you see in all communities.
he was pretty tough if you were pure melee. Took me 4 tries as a pure melee I think. By that time I learned to just go naked and never get hit. I was using the meat cleaver though.
When will we get DeS 2, instead of more chosen undead bullshit?
CHOSEN OOOOOOOOONE!!!! I'm coming!
CHOSEN OOOOOOOOONE!!!! I'm coming!
CHOSEN OOOOOOOOONE!!!! I'm coming!
CHOSEN OOOOOOOOONE!!!! I'm coming!
CHOSEN OOOOOOOOONE!!!! I'm coming!
CHOSEN OOOOOOOOONE!!!! I'm coming!
>Its the only world where I felt a sincere sense of dread
You didn't feel that in motherfucking Tower of Latria?
beat 1-1 finally
I thought phalanx's blobs respawned so I kept farming the fire stuff
where do I go next? I dont know where the levels are ordered. I went to the castle level with the ninja things and got my shit rekt, so preferably not there
you can go anywhere you want man, but most people usually go to stonefang tunnel or shrine of storms first.
yeah. He is from the distant future after all.
I was invaded once on my first pay through about 4 months ago. He used the dragon bone smasher and all heavy armor. He tried fast rolling and I could tell he had no idea what he was doing (I came from das).
Kinda underwhelming fight. Too easy.
>You will never have a harem with Yuria, Beatrice and Selene from Dragon's Dogma.
There's something about witches that makes me so...
I just feel that way because Patches was in DeS and DaS. Miyazaki likes putting little things like that in I feel.
>"Oh man what a spooky place, I sure hope..."
>PLEASE... HELP ME!
>RING RING RING
>*angry hollow noises*
>RING RING RING
>PLEASE... HELP ME!
Prison of Hope
10/10 atmospheric visuals
2/10 atmospheric audio
not to shit on DaS2, but the Old Iron Kind boss disappointed me pretty badly. When I saw him pop up I thought to myself "THIS IS THE DRAGON GOD BOSS FIGHT WE'VE ALWAYS WANTED!"
>About to insult art
>He actually has 6 fingers
Huh. Never noticed that before.
So who or what is on that crucifix to the right?
Patches was always a douche. Damn him for selling the best shit every game.
I do and they only get recommended overnight when I've already stopped playing. Wake up, +15 ratings like come on I could have used that while doing dumb shit
So it's autism and people unable to accept their favorite thing isn't best thing? I hear online is super laggy for one person most of the time
ok I'm going to post a comic I saved a while ago. about 8 pages. hope the thread lives that long.
>Someone made a joke-a-page comic for DeS like that awesome Windwaker comic
How many of there are these?
about 8 pages. but they're coming up as duplicates for some reason so they're taking a little longer to post.
Eh, I dunno. That could also just mean they don't want Bloodborne's public image to become the "PREPARE TO DIE, MASOCHISTS ONLY, SUPER HARD GAME" that most people see the Souls games as, when that was never the point of the series.
yeah I'm sl 39 on this one
sign is down
Thank you very much for the help dude
>They specifically said they want a wider audience.
That doesn't bother me, really. Souls games are just really fun and interesting, with the difficulty being blown way out of proportion. I had a friend who I showed some Souls games too and he assumed we'd be torturing ourselves with it, but after a while of playing he was just having fun.
If more people buy the game because they think it looks like a cool game, with no preconceptions about its difficulty, that's good in my books.
>Assassin's Creed 2
One of the worst games in a bad series.
Just improved the gameplay, didn't try to reach a wider audience.
>Ratchet and Clank 2 Going Commando
General improvements, didn't really try to reach a wider audience.
The DLC and PC release tried to reach a wider audience and started the whole "so hardcore, prepare to die!" bullshit that led to the decline of the series.
How did this even try to reach a wider audience? It's pokémon, there's some gameplay improvements and new pokémon and that's about it.
Stay wearing fluted armour for the whole game.
Master your positioning and your slow roll. Get enough endurance to run up freaking mountains. Fuck up Flamelurker even though he's several times stronger and faster than you. Get the absolute most out of Demon's Souls' combat in the conditions where it's the absolute best.
Alright. The giant club thing hurts the bugs pretty good but my long sword sucks on the worms maybe I should go club+claymore but then I don't have pierce damage for the weird black rock things
>One of the worst games in a bad series.
Have you even played 3?
>Just improved the gameplay
It was a Big Daddy simulator, if that doesn't scream wider audience I don't know what you think one is
>General improvements, didn't really try to reach a wider audience.
Maybe I should've said Jak 2 instead
>led to the decline of the series
You're exaggerating too much, it's only been one game that is slightly less better than the original but still a very good game
>How did this even try to reach a wider audience
The massive amounts of handholiding
You do realise the valley was a literal shihole long before she came? Thats the whole reason those dudes in the valley love Astrea so much, she was the first person in a long time that cared for them like they were human beings.
Honnestly Allant was right, everthing in the demon souls world is a literal shihole, boletaria was run by slaves who were worked to death, the valley of Defilement was the place were people who were unluck to be born or catch unknown diseases were trown away.
Latria was built with the ideia to imprisioning and torturing people at the drop of a hat if they went against the queen.
The world of demons souls was already a living hell long before the demons came, that why the evil ending is the best one, no one will have to live suffering with the fear that the old will rise agian, because this time everthing will be over.
If you chose the good ending you are just trying to heal a corpse with dirty bandages.
Astrea was the only hero in that story
>Have you even played 3?
Yes and it was even worse. AC was never a good series to begin with.
>It was a Big Daddy simulator, if that doesn't scream wider audience I don't know what you think one is
I don't see how playing as a Big Daddy is synonym with trying to reach a wider audience. Both games are just a worse System Shock anyway.
>Maybe I should've said Jak 2 instead
Jak 2 was worse than the original, it's the perfect example of alienating the older fans to try to reach a wider audience.
>You're exaggerating too much, it's only been one game that is slightly less better than the original but still a very good game
>slightly less better
Not really, but opinions.
Because B/W didn't have handholding too.
If it's huge then it is the boss gate
I just got summoned so i'm placing my sign again
So then what if
because we all know the Old One and God in the DeS world are one in the same, what if the Old One wasn't actually evil? What if he saw the suffering of the world and answered the praters of the people and descended along with the fog/demons to end it all so he could start a new one with less suffering? The lore in this game gives me boners sometimes.
Holy fuck what happened to that. When I took it the picture looked just fine why is it sideways?
Should I just continue on to the boss gate for your sign or are you outside?
They're the in-universe justification for why there's always a light surrounding your character, even when the rest of the area is pitch black.
I wish they hadn't thrown it out in Dark Souls. It was such a cool little add-on, and my face lit up whenever I saw it hanging on my character's hip.
It's needed in Demon's Souls since your character gives off such a harsh light. It's much more subtle in Dark Souls, and an AoG wouldn't work for areas like the TotG. It's a nice touch that I wish they'd kept, but they had a good reason not to use it.
I never even realised that the augite could actually be used. I was just thinking, hey, leave an item in your inventory that the player can't use just to explain this visual effect off your model. It worked much better for me than assuming my body was somehow radiating light.
Alright my sign is down
3 > 4 > 1 > 2 > 5 > Shit >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 5-2
>Not being able to deal with the swamp.
>Not tackling the swamp last because there is literally nothing worth picking up there
>Not getting poison resistance gear and HP recovery gear before you tackle the swamp
If you're not fast rolling remove your equipment and dodge his stomps and strikes, two hand your weapon and attack his feet whenever you feel you can. Trying to block him is pretty much suicide.
You have to pay attention to the arrows more than you do the Tower Knight himself. Sprinting is more economical when it comes to avoiding attacks here, so the idea is that you sprint to avoid slews of arrows, roll to avoid the more accurate ones, and attack the Tower Knight whenever you can.
What about near the end with the shit ton of crossbow fuckers and blue eyed knights? It's either the dragon kills me while I'm taking my time with them or they kill me while I rush away from the dragon
This is one of the only times I've played video games with someone from /v/ and didn't get shit talked, yelled at, or have them troll so hard the game is unplayable. What's up with /v/ and being shitlords online?
Not you, some retard summoned me for the Flamelurker fight and died immediately. Dragon is just timing and running with no equipment on
You can kill him early on with a Claymore if you time your swings right and stand near the first burnt bodies
Been kicking myself for missing this on PS PLUS when it was free.
>Stole friend's copy.
>Told him that I'm never giving it back
>He said, "Okay"
I started as a royal and I got a bow early. You need to go get one. Skeleton world has a powerful compound longbow in the first section.
You can also find a shitty bow somewhere where you are now, or buy one from the goblin or nexus NPCs.
Well thsi thread is on some dead pages so we can get decent discussion.
All the faggots are off shitposting in bloodborne threads about "muh wider audience, silky smooth", mgsv pc threads, and other console wars
I don't want to. I just took it and let him know. He fucked up and let some gimp borrow my Dragon Age disc and he lost it or never returned it. He said he already did everything in it and didn't give a fuck about it anymore anyway.
He's one of those guys that plats everything and rapes the games. He has 239 plats 982 gold 3253 silver 8772 bronze.
The fact that it is an exclusive game allows shitposters to use it to make mustards upset, even if said shitposters can't play it either.
This makes the mustards come up with a million and one reasons why it is shit even if it isn't true or fully explained.
Console wars and the people who feed the flames are killing any and all discussion about it.
Why can't everyone that loves video games just get along? One of my friends friends goes out of her way to shill Xbot shit at me and bash Sony/PC every chance she gets cause she's a GAYMER GURRRRRRRRRRRRRRL with OVER 100 XBOX GAMES. I didn't start shitting on the Xbox in front of her until she shit on everything Sony does. Why are people like this?
I just did it twice with some bro from here. He's fast and his attacks only affect shit in front of him. If you are light armor/no armor just roll behind him and unload when he slams the ground. His back jump does damage don't hit with with that shit
Anyone else thought you could only beat the Adjudicator with magic/projectiles? I had to throw every single shitty projectile/arrow in my inventory at him just to notice I didn't have enough of them, and then I finally lashed out on him with my sword in desperation.. oohhh. So dumb.
He was such a joke in the end, probably the easiest boss in Souls history.
>buy asian demon's souls
>can't connect to asian players for pvp or co-op
>stayed at a low level, around 40
>fat rolling in dark gothic
>no build but still using northern regalia
>never grinded for mats to upgrade gear
>got stuck on maneaters for a month
Inadvertent gimp run.
As much as I love this game, it really sucks how shitty the framerate gets. Makes me really worried about Bloodborne.
I hear there's going to be an option for 60 fps
I hope we don't get bugs like the pc version of DaS2 did with weapon durability.
This current version looks like it runs much better now
Hey, it's the guy who couldn't kill the Tower Knight.
I got him about down to half health before I died. I'm all out of late moon grass and half moon grass. I only have a little bit of cresent moon grass left.
Tower Knight has a very predictable attack pattern. Run under him and attack his shit, when you see him turning to smash you just run clockwise I think? and you'll dodge the shield smash, attack his ankles, he falls down GG
Avoiding damage altogether is better than tanking. This is why you should do a glass cannon build and fuck up niggas with your bow and clever rat ring. Hyper mode is best mode.
Maybe I'm just shit at memorizing attack patterns.
Anyways, I've been walking down the same hallways over and over again for the past 2 hours and it's growing tiresome. I think it's time to play something else
He'll do a weird spin and his huge sword or whatever will cleave shit then if you're close enough he slams his shield into the ground/you. Soon as he spins you can run behind him and wreck his ankles and back off whenever he starts moving cause he's gonna turn and slam you
Switch to a different world. World 2 is the easiest in the game. Tower Knight is not meant to be the second boss you face. He's meant to be the boss that makes you try another level while you level up enough to take him on.
Haven't played DeS yet, but played both Das 1 & 2.First time playing DeS holyshitsogud.jpeg
Now I see see both DaS 1 & 2 as inferior games. Why is does it feel so good to play this game /v/.
Why does DeS have to have such good armor but so little of it? It hurts knowing that even From themselves couldn't get NPCs to properly CosPVP bosses because of how limited they made armor, as evidenced here >>257836591 . I can't get over how AMAZING Fluted looks, both male and female versions. I want to keep doing fashion souls old school style, but DeS is so dead.
What? I beat Tower Knight on my second try. And the first try I only died because I didn't take out the archers first. Anyways,
>all enemies resistant to non-piercing damage and fire
You're full of shit.
Because everything feels fast
Fuck, marry, kill:
Marry the Maiden
I guess hearing how hard this game is before playing made me play real careful and study enemies before fighting so I don't get rekt like a bitch. I dunno most ARPGs critical thinking>skill for boss fights
I don't know why. I can never get out of the way or anything he does.
I also can't one hit the archers, so they always end up falling down instead of dying, so that's a pain in the ass to deal with to
>go to world 2 for the first time
>dude breaks my armor and sword in 3 hits
>have to get over 17k souls to repair everything
wow this is great, just awesome
>tfw doing low level scraping spear invasions
Understand one thing: armor helps you very little in Souls games, unless it's the Gloom Set coupled with the Ring of Poison Resistance and poison moss for 5-2. Mobility is everything.
The best armour in the game will make about a second of difference compared to the worst armour. I find that being quick and avoiding damage altogether is far more efficient. Your shield is the only armour that matters and your stamina is your real health bar.
Another advantage of ignoring armour and HP is that you can add extra points to offense, making you much stronger with no real downside.
>Wanting to play AOE: The Spammening - Smoke Weed Every Day, Stunlock the Monkey Edition™ after playing the superior Dark Souls 1 and even more superior Dark Souls 2
Go eat a gaggle of dicks
>durr the world sucks so we should just end it, everyone is better off dead because I said so
Edgy as fuck.
The only argument for the evil ending being good is that there's nothing in the game pointing towards the Great Old One being evil and there are some hints that it might not be.
I'm both a dodge and a cautious player. You should have your shield raised at all times in DeS. PF shield is great because it blocks all damage and has great damage reduction. I use Adjudicator when in 5-2, though.
No, no, no. Come on... keep at it.
Take out the archers. Be patient, wait for his magic behind the pillars on top of the staircase. Wait for an opening and go down the stairs. Attach his feet and be prepared to get stomped by his shield. Repeat. And don't get behind him when he's about to fall.
I've had Purple Flame for most of the game. Fuck fire damage with that and my flame resist ring
Royal class is literally easy mode you get mana regen and Soul Arrow
Imagine finding yourself in some room in an old house, eyes adjusting to the dim lamp light as you start to see various dust-covered macabre curios lining the shelves. You're sitting on a small couch/lounger, sinking deep into the soft old cushions, almost down to the floor. Your nose is filled with the musky aroma of foreign spices and fragrances, making your head swim. Your vision lands on a woman standing in the shadow of the doorway. Her thin black dress hugs her curves as she slowly walks up to you, almost gliding as she steps your way. A hood covers her eyes, but you can make out her nose and dark lips, curled into a casual smile. She couldn't be older than her thirties judging by her looks, though her true age is concealed through various manners of witchcraft. She slowly glides over to where you're sitting, looking down over you.
>My my, how your body must ache...
She says softly, running a long-nailed finger down your neck and over your shoulder.
>You've had a very nasty fall.
>Uh... who're... where? I was... uh...
You half-coherently mumble, enjoying the warm candlelight, soft cushions, and head-swimming aromas too much to even remember the last thing you were doing before waking up here.
>I just HAD to take you in and make sure you were alright...
She says, leaning in until her mouth is almost touching your ear, your vision filled with her cleavage.
>What kind of neighbor would I be if I just left you there...?
She coos into your ear. The sound of her sultry voice and the feel of her warm breath on your ear cause your heart rate to increase and raises the hair on your neck. You're far too lost in this strange moment to even respond beyond a simple "Uhhh". She stands back up and continues...
>Now, let's get you out of those -dirty- clothes...
A classic scenario in DnD (can end many ways) and much of ancient folklore too. Witches have always carried an air of dark sexuality, mystery, and exoticism.
Modern games aren't really challenging. They're just something to do when you're bored. This is what happened when you take "appeal to a wider audience" too far. At least non-US game developers still know how to make games
Bumping the thread with some delicious MiB.
>probably put 30 hours into it before I gave up
>got up to 1-3 and 2-3
>got completely stuck on 3-2
>Shrine of Storms was 2diffuclt getting past that narrow ledge
>the Swamp was 2tedious
Maybe I'm a pleb. Should I just go back to it and start a new game? I pretty much put everything into strength on that character.
Will any game ever do atmosphere this well again?
In classic folklore, witches also had this sexuality expressed in their spells. Some of these rituals had to be done whilst "skyclad," meaning completely naked in a place where you can clearly see the sky with no obstructions whatsoever, like a field.
>tfw no dev will make the most powerful magic in the game require strange and easily dangerous rituals in order to perform
>you will never come across a nude witch on a grassy plain under downpour, tearing the skies asunder with real magic, not pansy blue balls of shit
>you will never be so scared of a naked female in a video game after she fucking melts you and your party with lightning strikes
>Party emerges from woods
>Faintly hear shouting in the distance
>Crazy naked witch far away in the middle of a huge open field
>Have to cross field
>Cohort thinks he's got this
>You've seen him dodge arrows before
>Takes three steps into the field
>Instantly rendered a pile of ash by a bolt of lightning on a clear day
>This might take some consideration...
If anyone needs any help I can throw a sign down most likely. Though I never really went past sl40 on any characters so that might be a problem.
Getting the three-pointed hat is always nice, though it's kinda a bitch if you are inexperienced with the game. The binded set is good, plus looks pretty decent. Fluted looks wonderful too.
Nope, you find yuria's set in 1-1, except her hat which is in 3-1 but only on PWWT. And the dull gold set is in a lone slug in 5-2 on an island, make sure you have the carry weight to pick it up though or you risk losing the set forever.
