>I listen exclusively to video game music and anime soundtracks
>pcch, i only listen to REAL music, you shut-ins
>video game soundtracks use nearly all the music style that can exist and are composed exactly like music sold in the commerce
>but since it's from video game it's somehow bad and for autist kids
Listening to video game/anime soundtracks isn't a bad thing, and many people openly admit to doing so. Good music is good music regardless of what it's from or what it was intended for.
However, by listening exclusively to soundtracks from video games and anime, you're limiting yourself from discovering the true potential of whatever genres of music you're interested in.
>I listen to modern music and the latest artists
>I only listen to what the majority says is good
/mu/ has an excellent wiki with a lot of charts highlighting some of the best albums from certain genres
It definitely helped me get my footing and discover which genres I was interested in
I listen to good music. Doesn't matter where it came from, so long as its good.
Reminder that 2hu only has something like 3-4 GB of ingame music.
That means ~99.5% of the music in the lossless 2hu music collection is remixes.
Music that you should avoid if you want to be seen as a person of good taste:
video game/anime/film soundtracks
Japanese/Korean popular music
>I do. Mostly bebop/wing style, along with Anime OST's such as Cowboy Bebop and Baccano!
>I mostly listen to metal
>I believe there is a deep meaning to it on the likes of Kafka
>people respond to anything people like with this stupid meme
>i'm a male who masturbates to futa
>but i'm straight though lol
>avoiding electronic music
>avoiding all genres under this umbrella term
>"video game/anime/film soundtracks" is a genre
Go find some actual music. It doesn't take more than a few minutes of typing in an artist you like and finding similar artists with programs like Pandora. Almost anything is better than video game music. Its practically elevator music written by machines. No offense to some of the good composers, but its just not music that stands on its own.
>not interested in music
>not interested in movies
>not interested in concerts
>not interested in bars
>not interested in parties
>not interested in literature
>not interested in art
>barely interested in video games anymore
Sure feels nice being the most vapid person there ever was;
>I listen to any kind of music except country
>But futa really is for straight boys
I generally listen to Vidya, anime and cinema soundtracks since that's the music I'm most commonly exposed to, plus I often associate them with positive experiences (cool fights, interesting scenes, etc...) which enforces it even further.
When normalfags ask me about my taste I music I state it like that and they usually don't find it weird, probs cause I don't pretend I'm better for it, I just don't get much musical exposure.
eh, I've never really liked death or black metal. I mainly go for Heavy, power and thrash.
>I only listen to tibetan throat singing
It's supposed to be for when you're mocking people for doing shit only because they think it makes them sophisticated.
Which in the case of music would mean they are listening to jazz or classical, not vidya/anime soundtracks.
I only have one video game related song in my library and it is this
Also, I use this for my alarm clock. It is the most soothing way to wake up
nobody understands my love for both hip hop and anime
Most black people are casuals when it comes to anime though. At least in NYC. Yelling about Naruto and Bleach n stuff.
They geek out over that and black ops zombies and stuff a lot.
>Hey anon! What kind of music do you listen to?
>Zune filled with nothing but video game music
>I only listen to/play/watch/read [anything]
>tfw that faggot that listens to anime/vidya music power metal and classical
>tfw I am that faggot
Well, here's part 2, I also have a folder just of vidya remixes, also like 300 folders of stuff
ST & OST shit makes up about 4000/18000 tracks
goddamn, tell me you don't listen to all that Mario stuff, right
Why not? Mario has some great music.
Also, here, I shared these two albums with a friend, grab them while they're up.
>you can only listen to pre-approved music.
the kicker is that if you listen to an orchestra play a song it's music.
If you listen to a video game soundtrack that uses an orchestra then people say it's terrible and not actually music.
yo, dis Mario Kart 64 stuff, balling as fuck, you ever gonna share more?
would you fuck some hairy buff guy just because he has a vagina?
>If you listen to a video game soundtrack that uses an orchestra then people say it's terrible and not actually music.
Did that ever happen before? I played Gyakuten meets Orchestra for group of normie friends I have, and they liked it even after I said it's from a video game.
>Mario has some great music
If your idea of great music is a 10sec catchy loop repeated with different instruments. Especially the soundtrack for galaxy is just catchy but as a piece of music it a outrage that a real orchestra was willing to record such base tunes.
>Dragon Knight 2
>Princess Maker 2
You're cool. Also, which Viper is that?
Yeah, I do. It's not a preference I'm proud of though.
When I was real little I was a massive autistic sperg who only cared about video games. I also constantly fantasized my own video games and crossovers with my favorite cartoons and games and would imagine the scenes in my head using the sound tests from my games as audio aids. Because of this, I grew up only being interested in vidya music and had utterly no desire to listen to anything non-vidya at all.
Nowadays I regret it. Socializing is a fucking bitch because of it, like seriously, it's horrifying seeing how many occasions I could have actually discussed music tastes during a conversation and keep it going and not just have it stagnate with awkward small talk. Even with the gamer crew, I get lost once they start bringing up non-vidya stuff they listen to.
The worst part is that I still have no strong enough interest in branching out. I've wanted to start listening to new stuff for so long, my friends have even given me tons of recommendations, but when I finally have time to listen, I just... don't really care enough to do it. It hurts so much that I've fucked myself out of the chance of having a variety of different musical interests I could have had as an ignorant child, and now I'll forever be socially stunted because of it.
>I post my favored music on /v/ because /mu/ is shit
And this is how big my music folder is. It's a mix of anime, video game, video game remix, Touhou, Touhou doujin albums, and a few miscellaneous stuff that I enjoy
>I only listen to classy music, not "thug" rap and childish video game beeps and boops
>tfw I do an early morning walk every day at half 5
>always listen to the Skyrim soundtrack as I walk around my town and the fields nearby
Distant Horizon is great watching the sun rise over the rolling green hills.
>Most black people are casuals when it comes to anime though. At least in NYC. Yelling about Naruto and Bleach n stuff
>implying niggers have taste
>and now I'll forever be socially stunted because of it.
Or maybe you can stop being a close minded piece of shit and listen to music right fucking now instead of posting on /v/.
>I like x music
I don't listen to music.
>somebody don't like pop or rap
>/v/ translates this into you being a 12 year old posting about how mature you are on classic rock videos on youtube
>there are no possible exceptions
Why a board full of white middle class shut ins would be so autistic about rap is beyond me but damn you must really love rap.
Nope. If you've got something to recommend I'm all for it. I'll listen to it. If I like it or don't, I won't attribute that to the genre I'll attribute it to the artist not suiting my tastes or suiting my tastes.
it's becuase pop and rap are more varied than any other music genre "pop" isn't even a genre, it's a description of music that is popular, and if you think 100% of all popular music is shit, then you don't like music, or you are just saying "I hate all pop" because you didn't like some songs being played on the radio. same as rap, I have yet to see a person explain why they hate all rap music without an argument of the vein of "it's made by thug ghetto people" or "the lyrics are meaningless all they say is nigga"
Well aren't you just a paragon of artistic appreciation. The thing is most people aren't. For everyone person saying rap or pop music sucks there are plenty more people that also restrict their musical tastes only to that type of music. If you had to them listen to something like Boards of Canada or Death Grips they'd say, "wtf is this nerd/gay shit."
>Not listening to things you enjoy and listening to other's opinions
>I have yet to see a person explain why they hate all rap music without an argument of the vein of "it's made by thug ghetto people" or "the lyrics are meaningless all they say is nigga"
That's all they've heard, what do you expect them to think about it? They're don't listen to underground because nobody fucking does, that's why it's underground.
Yeah I know. Shit sucks, you gotta break 'em in slowly.
The average individual goes to work, comes home, they don't want to seek out new music they may or may not like. They'll go to the familiar, the radio song that made them feel good about their day. Nothin' wrong with that.
At least nothin' wrong with it until they start shitting on a genre they've hardly taken a gander at.
my fucking sides at this thread
there are people unironically being defensive about this
>hey guy whatre you listening to
>j-just some ch-chiptunes you wouldnt k-know them h-heh
>oh yeah i have a friend into some of that stuff, maybe ill know them let me see
>n-n-no it's ok r-reall-
>*pulls headphones out trying to get away*
>*Kirby's Invincible Candy theme plays*
>*tries to scramble for the jack*
>*the combination of the rapid beat, embarrassing spaghetti and autism causes a seizure on the spot*
>boards of canada, death grips
>hates pop music and rap
let me guess, you just found /mu/, checked out the recommended artist lists and know you are the the ultimate patrician of musical taste compared to your "normie" pleb friends? get back to school kid
The thing is most people I've know will shit on any kind of music they don't like no matter what their tastes are. On top of that most people I've known legitimately think all electronic music is called dubstep and if it doesn't sound at least slightly similar to "dubstep" they have no fucking clue what it even is - and I'm 25.
hey bro, news alert, sexual interest can be very varied and broad. there are things called bisexuality and pansexuality, which all futa lovers most likely fall under no matter what they try to excuse
I only have like four or so video game soundtracks on my PC, so I guess I'm not a pleb
Yea I know, most people have a narrow mind and love labeling shit. No reason to spurg out over it though that's why you make shit threads like these get so many replies because you just have to vent about how stupid everyone else is. Also
Kayne a shit
>notify the bus operator
Holy shit first world, get it togheter
What if I don't listen to anything on top, AND I can't name all of the old fogies on the bottom?
tfw deaf ;-;
>proud of lack of vidya soundtracks
>abundance of weebshit
It's always implied liking futa is gay, but that is not true. There is no way I would ever have the desire to kiss a guy.
Bisexual would be an option, since it means 2. One liking for women and the other for futa/shemales, still not other men.
It gets to a point where it becomes "can't force a horse to drink water if it doesn't want to". I've got friends I've been trying to turn on to hip-hop for a year now, just ain't their thing.
>I've known legitimately think all electronic music is called dubstep and if it doesn't sound at least slightly similar to "dubstep" they have no fucking clue what it even is
It's the same thing when people mistake "experimental music" for "shoegaze" or something minimalist.
Fuck it all let's post shit and criticize each others' tastes.
>99% of fedora pictures don't actually feature a fedora
I do listen to some video game OSTs. Whenever I say that(if somebody asks what type of music I like) most people don't care but I will occasionally get the awkward laugh. You'd think at age 22 people would be a bit more mature or at least be the type to just not give a fuck.
Seriously, who the fuck genuinely cares what someone listens to?
Is this a serious thing or are people trolling? How is it possible to care about what peoples' private listening habits are?
>Majority are trilby
Ignorant amerifats to blame
>Most people spend a lot of time worrying about why everyone else isn't exactly like them
anyone ever tell the dude how much his hat tipping image is reprinted on 4chan?
listening to OSTs is not inherently bad
when they're the ONLY thing you listen to, you're basically telling everyone
>I'm only out of my room to get something to eat, I don't know anything else but videogames
If you're 22 and that is the case you're a manchild
Mostly listening to Doujin(80%+ 2hu) and Vidya music here.
>tfw you keep listening to pokemon x/y soundtrack
I feel like I shouldn't like that first song, but I do.
>I feel like I shouldn't like that first song, but I do.
She's got a fantastic voice don't she? It's a shame the band never took off. She does solo work now, but it's mellow as fuck and doesn't show off her vocal strength at all.
Cutie as fuck though.
>I like to post :^) when I go on /v/
