You were never my boy.
You couldn't pull your weight.
You didn't take care of your swords.
You never grew up in time.
You held everyone down.
You couldn't live up to your father.
You were a true shitlord.
> yfw roy actually has good growths, availability and access to the best weapon in the game only shit on due to late promotion time and con.
Too bad that meant shit for his stats and growths. He's just lucky that he manage to get a fanbase. I mean it, that's his best growth, being a lucky little bastard.
We could've gotten Leif.
Fir always ends up being shit for me, I've tried several times but it's never worth the effort when I can just bring Rutger and have him be good 0 effort.
I can believe that!
fucking gonzales man
saved my ass in that murdock map
I still love you Roy.
Even though you'll be gone for the second Smash Bros in a row.
Even though your growths are mediocre.
Even though you can't promote until endgame.
Even though your game will never be released in the west.
You will always be my boy.
Thank you for being Marth except on fire.
Thank you for being usable by making Lilina broken.
Thank you for not being a pussy bitch like your father.
Even if everyone else abandons you, I still love you, Roy.
Of course you are...
>Support A with Lilina and B with Wolt
You three can kill anything.
> dieck growths HP S/M Skl Spd Luk Def Res
90% 40% 40% 30% 35% 20% 15%
> roy growths
80% 40% 50% 40% 60% 25% 30%
> shit bases
joins at level 1 in chapter 1 where everyone has shit bases
No, because you will never be better than you already are in PM. Even if Sakurai puts you in the new game, which he fucking won't, you would be shit.
RIP in peace, Roy McRoyerson.
I think I made a mistake.
Dude if I'd bothered abusing savestates for level ups, my Roy would be a hell of a lot better.
Lilina is so fucking blind that her skill growth is worse than Merric's magic growth in FE12 (3)
Here, let me illustrate exactly how fucking bad that is.
>Having difficulty using Fir
She joins you in a chapter filled with Axe users that she can easily wreck and her base stats in HM are fantastic, how can you ever have trouble using her?
As a child, I mained Roy. I didn't know who Roy or Marth were or what game they were from prior to smash bros. Both playing quite similarly, I just stuck with Roy because I thought he looked cooler and I liked the fight style of the fe characters.
>Pharae blood mixed with mighty dragon blood that once put the world to heel
>Produced the shittiest lord ever
>Meanwhile Ostian blood produces gods like Hector and Lilina that can one shot everything
Roy has to breed with Lilina. It's the only way to save the Pharae line
It's been around for years, have you never lurked a Fire Emblem thread that talked about the game instead of the girls or something?
I guess if you ignore the 6 times she missed before the one-hit ko sure.
Savescum has been a thing for a while. Basically it's something where you create a save state in order to keep rerolling the RNG until you get what you want
>Savestate and kill enemy
>1 point in luck
>1 point in defense
>1 point in strength, speed, defense, and luck
Also used for Arena Abuse
Lilina must breed with the retarded bandit or the black bandit. That is what Hector would have wanted.
In 5 he was pretty useful as well.
Light sword with 50 uses at the start, command stars for extra evade and hit, plus his shit growths don't even matter since you got scrolls in that game.
Growths are not what made Dieck OP
Pfft, that's an extreme example, there's no way Lilina's that bad, just lemme check my own-
That's just pathetic.
...Still, I never had a big problem with it since supports with Roy help and they grow faster than any other support in any other game, and she has shittons of magic.
If it weren't for the Light Sword Leaf would be arguably worse than Roy.
Oof, I think you got screwed a bit on the speed though. But yeah if she hits I'll admit that she's a fucking hydrogen bomb.
Hahahaha oh god. It'd be like that one Hector conversation but even worse.
It doesn't really matters much, tomes are weightless in FE6 and she has decent speed to compensate. She's also the only one who can reliably kill dragons without risk in FE6. Dat Magic on Merric is ultra pityful
It's funny how broken he is on FE4. Not that most of characters aren't, but Master Knight is some bullshit
This game is so hard that everytime I clear a chapter I get scared to play the next.
My weapons and resources are running out, fuck
Had a friend who we played smash bros with.
I had always mained roy. He starts using marth. He's pretty gets bretty good at using him. SSBB comes out. "Oh noes can't use Roy anymore". I guess I'll use Ike. Dat unorthodox timing juxtaposed Marth's speed. Dose OP hits. Dat OP chin.
"We like Ike!"
"We like Ike!"
I guess that's how it feels to be smashed by an objectively more OP character.
FE4 everything is broken.
This is a character you're gifted on the second generation.
Echidna is a good option, has a decent Stats, probably the same growths, has B on Axes and C or D in Swords.
I still love you Roy, you were my favorite character in Melee and the first lord I play with. Even if you were shit in FE6 you still could beat everyone with the Sword of Seals.
>not giving every single stat upgrade to roy
have fun not getting the best ending
>The Falchion is an ancient sword that was used by Marth and even Chrom and Lucina thousands of years later
>Ragnell is a sword blessed by Ashera.
>The Sword of Seals is an ancient weapon once wielded by Hartmut and was later wielded by Roy.
What went wrong?
>Dat OP chin
Echidna is actually a pretty legit prepromote. She's not fantastic and she either gets forgotten or gets flak for whatever reason, but if you're down on your luck she can fill a Hero role nicely.
Ah, nevermind, I don't even have another Hero's Crest.
Get everyone to the villages via opening doors and having Karin transport everyone.
If anyone can mount, do so.
Get Hicks ASAP, then stage your defensive in the village area.
Collect all the items from the villages, sell whatever you don't think will be useful and anything with later potential in storage, and get out by turn 20 or Galzus is sicced on your ass.
Don't worry, next map gives you back Fin and Safy along with Shiva from 2x, and gives you an arena to grind up money and XP.
Because he was one of the easiest characters to pick up, in casual play against people who don't shield or dodge, you can easy win spamming side smash, outside of that he was bad.
Shanaan is my nigga. I love his design.
He was one of my main units on Gen 2. Gotta love that Balmung
Jamka has very good hit.
Delmund on the other hand seemed like he wanted to be an axeman
Are you honestly new to videogames? people like you seem to actively destroy the language.
Regardless of that faggot, Roy was never my boy and I'm amazed that he managed to be in Melee.
On my normal mode run she has 1 more strength than Rutger AFTER giving his ass an energy ring.
She is also better in every stat but hp, but its not like angel robes are rare in this game
Sety is really fucking broken. If you think Shanan is broken, you haven't seen shit.
>tfw when coming down from a launch with charge b
>tfw peasants are below me brawling unaware of the meteoric cataclysm about to rein down upon them
>tfw I can feel the anticipation building up inside
I bury that dicklaunching everyone to their death.
Pssst no pain now, just jimmies.
Pikachu is the mascot of the franchise and is still relevant in the anime that tons of people(maybe not our age) enjoy. Roy was an advertisement for an unreleased game that ended up being one of two huge low points in the franchises history.
It happens. I can't tell you how many times I've gotten a shitty Oscar despite his good growths and everybody swearing by him, that's just the nature of the RNG. But Fir never, ever, ever works out for me.
Speaking of Falchion, they talk about reforging it. And the center hole thingy in the Awakening version glows. Lucina's version does it, and later Chrom's does it when Naga sets him on fire.
But nobody ever really talks about why it does that. You figure it's because the Exalted Falchion's unlocked its Grima-beating potential, but Lucina's does it anyway.
oh yeah, right, how could I forget. Ares "My sword crits on it's own" the boss killer.
I don't think Lakche can wield the Balmung.
Do you remember Nanna, the troubadour that did lift?
Did you know if you soft reset the game Celice gains an extra leadership star.
>one of the two huge low points
more like one of the two huge high points of the franchise, along with path of radiance. settled the gameplay for the next two amazing gba games.
Anna strapped on a dildo and bent over your Lilina, anon.
One single search on Serenesforest:
First have Shanan equip the Balmunk and then get him killed. Then have a character use the Valkyrie staff, but don't resurrect him just yet. Instead press the X button to view his status screen. Press the L or R button and then exit. Return to the status screen and the Balmunk should now have changed to an Iron Lance with 98 uses. If not, try again (or you could just bash all the buttons like me). Save the game and reset. The next time you load the save, you should find the Balmunk purchasable in the Vendor. Aside from Shanan, only Lakche or Skasaher with major Odo blood can equip the Balmunk.
I don't know if this has any side-effects so be warned...
Lucina's falchion is only semi awakened.
In the future timeline, chrom dies at the dragon's table. The fire emblem is retrieved but the orb that validar had is forever lost. With only 4/5 orbs, the falchion couldn't fully awaken. That's why it doesn't glow
Do we know this for sure. I'm actually playing Awakening as we speak. On Ch. 25 trying to grind my main team for the final battles to come. Also could she've awakened it herself?
A high-tier game with its only flaw being no supports and "Kill every unit to unlock" gaiden chapters. For being the worst FE after the first 3, it's still pretty solid, though.
Reminder that Ike exists as an apology for how absolutely terrible Roy was.
yeah, but then you'd have Lakche super overpowered and a mediocre Shanan. I'd rather have two good units instead of just one.
I said it to him because if you do and Levin is Sety's father his speed goes so fast it actually loops all the way back to 16 (his base). This doesn't happen often because people tend to savestate rather than "turning off" the game, also missing on Celice's extra leadership.
FE6 is unarguably one of the two low points in the series, the other being Shadow Dragon. It removed almost all the features that made the previous titles so great and only added the worst support system in the franchise to make up for it, in addition to the slew of other problems it had, notably terrible weapon accuracy and unnecessarily large map design. Why else do you think it was so poorly received in Japan?
Thracia was too hard and it didn't even sell that well. All the modern conventions were already done, at least the good ones. It's pretty much forgotten and should stay that way.
Sword of Seals was supposed to be the first non weeaboo FE but Nintendo went idiotic and cancelled the deal. With the popularity of Roy, it could have even sold more than Blazing Sword in America and Europe.
aww Marth is a qt boy....wait what? B-but what about fighting for my friends?
Everyone knows Hector and Ephraim are the only lords worth caring about.
>You want strength and defense? Hector can supply enough to clear out the beasts in Australia
>Rather have an overall ass-kicker with much better speed? Ephraim's got your back
You know who sucks? Eliwood. He's not as good as Lyn and Hector even when he gets promoted. Roy takes after his dad when it comes to being shit at getting stronger.
Not really, that's Ephraim and Eirika to a smaller extent. Ephraim is an Eliwood that lifts, and has a better promotion time, and he's far more viable.
Ike is just the developers finally figuring out that the Lords that don't become dead weight are far more popular.
Marth had a harder life than most people give him credit for.
>features that made the previous titles so great
Like skills? Not really needed, in fact they make the game much easier.
Another useless feature. Only true fans could really like it because of muh fanfics.
>large map design
Nope. FE4 had large map design and 10 chapters but still people like it.
Who would you rather have?
A shitty green haired punk, or this semen demon?
Oifaye's natural critical skill and cutter sword is actually good for cherrypicking and Shanan is actually very good all the way through with his Balmung. The only mounted units in the second gen I'd say are bad is Johan and Finn.
But of course, if you need to rely only on the elite that is very much your problem.
Silver Sword is alright. She still gets the effective damage bonus and if you really want that extra 3 might, the game gives you a free Tyrfing.
I'm really missing my FE VII cart. I know I own it and it's somewhere. I bet I lent it out to someone.
I'm missing that pre-fanservice artwork and gba sprites.
Something selling well doesn't mean that it was well received. Brawl sold better than Melee, but we all know that people like Melee more.
How about skills, children, marriage, fatigue, capture, str/mag split, scrolls, canto, etc.
>supports are useless and skills aren't needed
You're joking right?
And FE4 gets shat on for it's large map design quite often as well and has other things to make up for it which is why people enjoy it.
Shadow Dragon: Very meh, outclassed by his waifu and the rest of the good characters, not dead weight but neither particularly good.
New Mystery: Surprisingly very good, but extremely outclassed by your avatar, god of destruction and rapist of the divine.
Competitive crowd that knows the details of both games like Brawl more and they are a few thousands.
Sadly, millions like the inferior game more simply because of more characters and content overall.
FE6 is well received by the majority, even if it is the 3d or 4th weakest entry in the series
Reminder that Kirby owns the Falchion, along with the Triforce and Captain Falcon's helmet.
As a character. He's a pretty naive about war and really only gets by because of everyone else. Not that he's a whiner, but he doesn't have the resolve that hector, Ike or even roy did. He's alright.
In new mystery of the emblem he toughens the fuck up. While he still clings to his ideals that he has in shadow dragon, he's much more mature and is able to effectively wage war. He's a pretty well developed character that way.
Comparing any of the characters to the MyUnit is unfair.
>making your way towards the enemy
>Six berserkers attack Lalum!
They all miss
All features that only make the game more tedious and not enjoyable. That's why so many people stay away from the SNES games.
Supports, at least in the GBA games, aren't needed and they are more like a help. Not because the game is easy but because you can use different strategy. Same for skills in PoT/RD, they make the game easier but they're fun to use, I have to admit.
>Not being good at hitting things and doing other stuff good too
>implying everyone didn't end up being gay
>Cleared the whole map
> Only boss group remains in the far end
>Go tightly as a group
>Midway, at like turn 15, enemies pop up in their turn
>A single one of them can toss a javelin
What am I doing WRONG?
>just the standard FE lord
Well, he is THE FE lord. Kinda naive and unsure, but open when he needs other people's help. Makes a marked change by Mystery.
Gameplay-wise, even at his worst(Shadow Dragon) the game vomits rapiers at you and he can destroy with that and trivialize his shortcomings.
In other games he's great(FE1) or at least alright(FE3/12). Not getting the promotion boosts kinda hurts him in the long run but he'll be alright.
Chrom don't need much else. All you do for the first half of the game is stab wyvern riders, and by the second half, his high strength growth basically lets him swing that bitch around forever. Unlike other FEs there aren't exactly a lot of knights and cavaliers for him to use a rapier on until later in the game.
>All features that only make the game more tedious and not enjoyable.
Those features are why people like FE4 and FE5.
>That's why so many people stay away from the SNES games.
People stay away from FE3 because it's dated, FE5 because of a shitty translation and the misinformation surrounding its difficulty, and FE4 is generally regarded as the best game in the series along with FE9.
>aren't needed and they are more like a help
Just like anything that isn't an E rank weapon in the GBA games, that doesn't mean that not having other weapons isn't useless.
Requesting that pic where the girl is all over Roy's dick and he's just like
>"Huh? Did you say something? I wasn't listening"
The lion of Elibe is aware of his swag
>That's why so many people stay away from the SNES games.
People don't stay away form the SNES games, they just don't commit to it. They SEEM tedious and too much thinking but in fact they're very simple and easy to learn. FE5 is treated as it's supreme difficulty when really maps are more puzzle games than anything.
>Supports, at least in the GBA games, aren't needed
You NEED supports in FE6's hard mode. Skills are not what makes PoR easy, it's the fact that enemies have low stats. RD is bullshit hard outside of Easy mode and you need careful skill distribution in those too.
Fucker even /ss/ his teacher.
Still doesn't beat Celice and his 15 bitches, his own sister is not safe.
>try to win any sizeable tournament
I'm not that much of a tryhard. As if most of even /v/ would be and applying that metric to mildly competitive players(if that).
he probably isn't going to be winning many tournaments, but he has a much higher chance than if he was using Roy
Should I fatten her up, /v/? Can't think of anyone else to give this to since I'm not using any peg knights.
12 is overrated trash that only got hyped up because of MyUnit. FE3 has a more boring plot, the maps are worse, and literally nothing was improved from 11. It still has the same awful models and lack of features so I'd rather play the game with good map design and a feel of adventure.
It's pretty critically acclaimed. /v/ has mixed feelings because some think it is too casualized for the following reasons:
-you can reclass your unit to basically any class and acquire all the OP skills (total of 5). >For example: counter, lethality (1 hit ko), galeforce (can move again after ko an enemy), lifetaker (regain 50% hp after ko an enemy).
-You can reclass all your units to any of the 3 class lines available to them.
>example: archer, knight, dark mage---promotes--->sniper, bow knight, great knight, general, sorcerer, dark knight
-re-classing allows you to max your units' stats
-there are a couple dozen bonus maps you can play and replay at any time that allow you to battle some of the old characters from the old games and recruit them. this allows you to grind to your hearts content and make your units OP
-there is a casual mode that allows you to keep your units if they die in battle
-S class support gives you access to a second generation of units who are the children of the first generation units and inherit some of their stats and skills as well as access to their collective available classes
-you can "Pair up" units which is like rescue except the rescued unit will occasionally block attacks for you or attack with you doing extra damage
-the enemy units don't pair up
I personally love the game. I think it could be casualized if you choose to play that way. The great thing about the game is the huge abundance of content and re-playability. If you want to play casually; casual mode, easy mode, paired up, grinded OP units. If you want to play hard mode; lunatic mode, classic mode, don't pair up, no over-leveled grinding. Another feature worth mentioning is the spot pass team. You can put your unit up on spotpass with your team. This allows other players who have the game to battle your team and possibly recruit your unit.
Tomefaire, Aegis and Pavise will keep things cool as a cucumber. One of them might want Dual Guard+. Anything else is your discretion.
No, Roy. I went years without even bothering to find out who you were. When I did, I discovered that you're from a Japan-only game and are generally considered the worst main character in your series. Your only claim to fame is a game where you were an inferior copy of another character, where you almost didn't make the cut in favour of a different character.
You were never my boy.
