EX Troopers knew what it was. It wasn't shit design because it fell in line with what it wanted to be. As for the gameplay, it was literally more of the same at it's core. Only now they gave you a dash and more melee strikes while taking away the manual grappling hook mechanic. 2 is my favorite of the series, but EX Troopers was far from ass. It was legit.
