Any VN fans in the house?
I'm a weeaboo faggot and I enjoy the medium, but it's a minefield of soulless, dead-eyed waifu fantasy porn.
Am I wrong for dismissing all the VNs with H-scenes as empty smut?
I got into G-Senjou no Maou recently. It was highly recommended everywhere by everyone and I was repeatedly assured that it was not a hentai game. Cool story, decent characters, then suddenly I'm listening to one of them make sloppy blow-job noises for ten fucking minutes and watching her take 40 ounces of hot jizz in the face from a giant, blurry anime dick.
And this is NOT a fucking H-game?
How am I supposed to take this cum-guzzler seriously as a character anymore? How am I supposed to take this game seriously when the main menu has a special option to take you right back to the hentai? How am I supposed to take the genre seriously when a top-rated entry dives into hardcore porn at the drop of a hat and that's not even considered worth mentioning?
If VNs are mainly just for waifu smut, that's fucking fine, but somebody let me know so I can stop looking for more from them.
Yeah, I just don't think it's relevant. If I know they're in there, I can't trust the writer's intentions. It makes it seem like they wrote the characters first and foremost as a jerk-off fantasy.
>And this is NOT a fucking H-game?
but it is? g senjou is an eroge
if you wish there are all age versions of eroge but they're not translated, and i doubt an EOP filth like you could read them
I'm actually like you
I love Murder/Mystery ones
To be fair there are good ways of putting that shit in and bad ways.
G-Senjou really dropped the ball and as you say every character became a fucking shitty hentai video stereotype.
Really bugged me with the lead female character
as well as the bullshit love story "now I can't do anything without MC's dick" shit they pulled near the end
Sharin no Kuni handles that shit marginally better but not by a great deal
Just look for the ones on vndb that don't have fucking in OP.
Read Muv Luv then come back in 40 hours and tell me how much you hated the first part, loved the second part and had all kinds of reactions to the third part
That's what I'm doing. My monitor space consists of the game, ITH to capture the text for quick copying, Translation Aggregator with JParser to look up words I put in the clipboard and Anki's add card window.
Oh the irony, when the series got a really awesome artist, Muv-Luv Alternative, the games stopped having erotic content since the company became big enoug to get by without resorting to porn.
My bad, I meant Muv-Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse, the newest one, the art is beyond all previous Muv-Luvs, but no Erotic Conten in any way or form, at least not yet, who knows, maybe they could go KEY route, even a company with as much baggage as Key put some Ero in a special version of Little Busters.
Because there never was a market for them until very recently.
In Japan, text adventures evolved (or devolved) into VNs while they shifted towards point & click adventures in the west (and then died out).
Since some anons talked about Console VNs, I gotta say Radical Dreamers for SNES (Famicom Disk specifically) is really damn good, definitely out of the norm, it’s translated even so I think anyone who hasn’t played yet should check it out.
It's more valid than any of the other retarded reasons I've heard for it being shit tho anon.
Feel free to try and tell me how it failed at being a cozy little VN about relationships though.
You won't change my mind and I won't change yours though
Please, go play any of the What A Beautiful series (Inganock and Sharnoth are good starts).
My favorite in the series is Shiei no Sona Nyl, but it's not translated into English, but it might be in the next couple years.
Saya no Uta is also pretty enjoyable. It's short enough of a game to justify its shortcomings. Not bad for a first VN.
It was first a Light Novel, then became an Anime, now it's a full fledged VN.
The Visual Novel is the superior one, it could adaptate all of the LN flawlessly and give it some good artwork, actually the same LN artwork.
it just screams EOP and baby's first VN
which might not be a problem when you're a low powerlevel casual but when you've read actual VNs it's just not much of an interesting read
oh, so you don't even know there's still threads on /vg/ about it? it's mostly shitposting now but there are still a few good people. it used to be alot better. you must atleast know the effects the game has had on people though.
>saya no uta
>saya no uta
>SAYA NO UTA
I can only get into nukige nowadays. If I wanted to read a book, I'd dip into my book backlog. However, in order to sate some of my fetishes, I need to go with VNs.
How does being a beginner VN make something shit anon?
If you had no interest in it then that's fine but that doesn't make it a bad VN.
It does at least do the H-scenes better than most others I've across.
>a lot of people got waifus after playing it and tried to go and get more exercise, try drawing/painting, etc
>tried to go and get more exercise, try drawing/painting
all that for one dumb anime game? holy fuck that's so sad
>and completely out of character,
Huh? Besides Shirou being really rough, I don't see anyone being out of character in those scenes, Shirou himself could just be said to be immersed in pleasure by summoning his inner Jackhammer.
Wow, wasn't expecting someone in a /v/ thread to jump on that so quickly. Amen to you and your niggatastic refinement.
I said it's fine for babby's first, and I can acknowledge that it's not the best VN ever and I didn't fagmode all over it. It's also beatable in 10-15 hours, which is so short that all of the rather minute problems in it are pretty inoffensive. (It's not trying to overdo things like FSN. 70 hours of 100%ing things is fine, but you have to admit that the Fate route is fucking garbage. What's the issue here, exactly?
Hey, whatever floats their boat. It's better to know they get motivated by animu, than not be motivated at all
it's even a real VN
>It does at least do the H-scenes better than most others I've across.
yeah, I too love vanilla shit, the h scenes were wasted potential if anything
turned out a parody was better than the actual h scenes
Yup. Downloaded two last night and two the night before. One of them was in English this time.
Sounds interesting. I'll look into it.
"No Sexual Content" is probably the tag they want.
That's funny. I like the porn part(unless I hate the characters involved) but I don't like the VN part. I like reading books but reading a story that's just like one of my favorite animes but with static images doesn't seem fun to me. So I play only nukiges and the games with the actual gameplay.
open your mind, if it's what makes them happy then who cares? i'm not saying i'm like them. but i can still respect people who want to make change in their life for the better, no matter what the reason. it's really awesome i think, actually, it conveys the power something like a game can have on a person. video games probably have some sort of effect on you too, or you wouldn't be on /v/ right? you aren't so different after all.
I totally getcha, OP. I'm not a huge weaboo faggot like you, but I always enjoy a good story and I've enjoyed playing some VNs.
I've always personally disliked by sex scenes since they're never worth fapping to and they're annoying to skip but it's not a total dealbreaker for me.
Anyway, hopefully we can find porn-free suggestions in this thread that we both like.
endgame material, though. Many f ucked things happens before, and after too,I was just pulling his leg, Fraternité is really good but definitely not for the faint of heart.
Dont forget the neckbeard. But yeah, atleast they're doing something with their life, regardless how silly the motivation.
>yeah, I too love vanilla shit, the h scenes were wasted potential if anything
Not every H-scene ever has to have the characters devolve into "my hips are moving on their own" "please get my asshole pregnant onii-chan" you know.
The scenes fit the tone and usually had shit to do with the characters motivation.
Just because people aren't tying each other and shitting on each other doesn't make the scenes wasted potential
I did mention earlier how neither of us would change the other one's mind, assuming you're the same guy
I thought Starless was boring and far too tame, if that puts things in perspective.
>atleast they're doing something with their life
did any of these losers actually went through with that shit for a long period of time? i bet they all gave up half way through
>calling other people a dumb weeb nerd loser on 4chan
shit never gets old
Anyone got anymore good murder/mystery vns I need more
So far I read
>Saya no Uta
>Shikkoku no Sharnoth
>Kara no Shoujo
>Danganronpa/Phoenix Wright/999/VLR (If these even count)
From what I remember seeing most of the running guys managed to finish the couch to 5k thing.
Hell I remember people trying to start a KS thread and it pretty much just turned into a running general.
That was when it first came out though, I imagine like most people they've moved on.
Katawa Shoujo is pretty mediocre. I read all of it, and it was a damn forgettable experience.
One of the things really annoying the entire time was the fact they tried to make it take place in Japan, and it clearly didn't. The people didn't act Japanese at all, it was really hard to believe the setting was where it was supposedly at.
And Shizune's family name being random syllables strung together is still weird as hell. I have never heard of anybody else with that name.
Play games with tasteful H-scenes like Inganock, or just play ones without H-scenes like Steins;Gate.
>Kara no Shoujo
Also how does Umineko compare to Higurashi?
Just learn to skip them man, it's no big deal. You learn to zone it out.
There are some games that simply aren't 18+ though. Rewrite and Little Busters! are pretty good and Grisaia no Kajitsu is getting the 17+ Vita version released on Steam soon. It has extra scenes and CG's compared to the 18+ version. The sex scenes in that one are also purposely bad for the routes written by the main writer, they'll have you laughing pretty bad.
There's an all-ages version of Sharin.
Holy shit, it's so much fucking better without the h-scenes, at least from a story standpoint.
I played it on my PSP backed when I lived in Japan and that opened my eyes. I was playing pandering shit with hentai for years, but the stuff on PSP is top tier.
If you can read Japanese well enough, I suggest pirating some PSP VN games.
Liar-Soft stuff isn't liked by a lot of men because they're otome games.
I don't really get it. I mean, I understand why most of the fanbase is women, but I don't understand why the male fanbase isn't larger.
That shit didn't bother me but my knowledge of Japanese culture isn't great.
Then again the Japanese culture stuff I've read in other VNs didn't bother me either.
I don't really think to much about what specific country fiction is trying to take place in and just take it at face value.
What actually happens during the removed H-scenes?
Does it literally just blank over them or is there like an implication of sex with a fade to black screen?
Not that it would really matter as I don't think anything too important was mentioned during the ones in Sharin
>the game got them to exercise and try other hobbies
I mean I'm all for dismissing waifu faggotry but I can't really say that's sad if it's helping them legitimately improve their lives.
I thought they were sort of a mix between the two, considering a lot of the h-scenes feature women.
Gakthun genuinely looks like an otome game though. That male protag is too fabulous.
The plot, the general setting, STARLESS is meant for fapping all the way through, Fraternité on the other hand has scenes which are straight out of snuff porn, the screams and anguish of a particular character (that is a spoiler) is not meant for faps, (at least not for everyone); really the final moments are really fucking sad, even more so due the MC having a face and a voice.
You should play it. TT was fun but TT2 is so much better. Even the gameplay part(kinda).
Also, in the beginning you should actively avoid Dungeon Warriors. One of their gimmicks is the randomness of their weapons, heads(Char's helmet gives him +30% to evasion) and also money and exp you get from them. Their second gimmick is that they're always as strong as you no matter how much you level up(you gear does make difference though).
No, it' actually rewritten and/or entirely skipped over/never mentioned as if it never happened.
I guess a few PSP VN's have black screen to imply sex, but there's never any writing about the sex acts in the all-ages versions.
For the most part they don't reference anything at all.
They're targeted at both genders. They're just meant to be appealing stories, rather than smut.
In the case of the Steampunk series specifically, the H-scenes really aren't there for fanservice. They're pretty tasteful and used mostly for character development. None of them are really that fappable either. Hikaru Sakurai is very good at writing sex into her stories without degrading the work.
Of course this isn't counting the first game, which is something else altogether.
I don't think that's sad at all. People like that usually have no one to turn to in real life, so a game is the only way they get positive feelings.
If those feelings manifest into something tangible and they can do something with it, who are you to judge?
>wants a vn without porn
Anything by R07
Busters without the ex add on
And as for >not a hentai game
Since even things like old Key works have h scenes in them, most fans don't consider a VN a porn game unless the porn is the main draw to playing it, like stuff by Lilith or Softhouse-Seal. Typemoon stuff all has porn, but it's not considered a porn game since the draw is the characters/concepts/ideals. A lot of Romeos works have porn, but they aren't considered porn games since the main draw is the style of writing and storyline. I've read lots of VNs were the porn is obviously tacked on for 'm-muh otaku sales' and is really totally unnecessary. I've read VNs were the porn is so out of place you can't even get off to it. You just have to learn to live with it if you are going to be a VN fan.
>I don't think that's sad at all. People like that usually have no one to turn to in real life
How is that not sad? That's extremely sad in the non-pejorative, actual, literal meaning of "sad".
It's because a staggering amount of women work in the eroge industry in a surprising comparison to men.
In an eroge sense, it's not as popular since women don't exactly focus on service > plot. Japanese neet/generic waifufags over there really have shit taste in comparison to foreign fans at large. This applies to waifus, shows, games... pretty much anything and everything.
plot = WAB series is predominantly written by a female, if not entirely.
exception = Muv Luv has a really great sense of worldbuilding that doesn't need fifty years and fifty side adaptations and guidebooks to explain it all. It also doesn't come off as "hideously thrown in there" like a lot of lore in FSN.
service = FSN. Nasu's sex scenes are pretty much thrown in. They don't contribute to the plot and they're not really trying to be seductive or hot in comparison to other eroge out there.
exception = Fraternity was written and illstrated by one woman, while the Rance series was mostly written by women since jumpstreet.
Well, okay. Though after playing Rance 02, 3 & 4 I just can't call TT 1 & 2 clunky.
I wouldn't say it's downright BAD, but it really feels like it's overwritten.
It's so damn long and at times can be really boring to read through.
It doesn't get too good until later in the story, which is where the "OMG 10/10 I FUCKING CRIED" comes from.
The other half of the story is more of a chore to read through, and the characters are a bit stereotyped so you know too much of what to expect from them.
If you want something a little better, read "Rewrite".
>implying Kyou/Tomoyos route aren't a masterpieces
>implying Kotomi/Misaes routes aren't great
Clannad isn't perfect by any means, it's got a couple of routes that are total shit, but it's still a must read for anyone getting into VNs.
>It's so damn long and at times can be really boring to read through.
I was ctrling shit after a while because of how aweful it was. And sure the after story is good, but it doesnt mean it is okay to try and kill your audience beforehand by making it a boring piece of shit. I dont even mind stereotypes, the scenes were just too poorly written. When I read grisaia I also fell into a post clannad shock because of those awefully long flashback stories. But unlike clannad the start was good because they had good and fun scenes that didnt get drawn out to painful levels.
>but it's still a must read for anyone getting into VNs.
if I want to get someone into VNs I would let them read a fun story that doesnt take a toll on their patience and sanity..
How was Grisaia's flashbacks bad? Especially shit like Angelic Howl. Do you not have the attention span for character backstories? I read each of those flashbacks in one sitting.
amane her backstory was just a chore. I understand they wanted to show the desperation of the situation but scenes like the girl hanging herself were perfectly fine for describing the situation. The overdrawnness also took away from the tension, if they used timeskips they could get the pressure up faster and make you afraid of reading on. I was just afraid of reading on because I would get the message that they only went one day ahead after shitloads of useless writing.
I just don't see how it was useless. Things were happening every single day and you could see the situation cracking as it went on. You're really the first person I've ever heard say that her flashback was a chore, most people think it's the best flashback in the entire novel.
I mean, I understand that they could have just skipped it and used it as "THIS STUFF HAPPENED," kind of element, but that really wasn't what they were going for. It was a story of its own, and it also really showed the personality of an important story character you don't see until Meikyuu.
Fujisaki did what I think a writer SHOULD do, which is show, not tell. He showed us everything that happened, instead of just telling us, "AND THEN IT GOT BAD."
I always read whatever an anime is adapted of instead of watching the anime when one catches my interest, since 99 times out of 100 the source material is better.
>tfw didn't get spoiled about a single thing in Clannad when I read it
Oh man, I can't imagine how much worse it would have been if I had known.
>. You're really the first person I've ever heard say that her flashback was a chore,
well maybe you should read more 4chan because ive seen multiple threads on it and most people seem to agree it was too long.
And there is a difference between telling: shit went bad and describing everything. You could cut half of it out without damaging the delivery or information in any way.
This was before I was into VN's, so that wasn't even a thought that crossed my mind.
At this point I don't have much desire to read it since I kind of know the only good part.
Air, on the other hand, I really want to read. The anime was a fairly obviously rushed summary of the routes.
I don't go on 4chan for VN threads typically. /jp/ is filled with retards that always try to make up shit (they really think the Steam release of Grisaia isn't going to include the Vita content) and /v/ typically has people who aren't very knowledgeable.
Honestly, the only place that's worse is FuwaNovel. That place gives me fucking nightmares. I prefer communities where translators actual regular so you get an idea of what the source material was like.
I dont either but I still run into them. But apart from that amane her route was a long boring slog through a story idea that was nice. If you would let another writer or an editor loose on it Im sure that it will improve
Not the same guy, but I gotta ask what didn’t you like about Clannad in particular, because there’s one aspect in Ef games that seems pretty similar to Clannad, teens being quite overdramatic sometimes just force a sad moment, although there are legit moments that are well done.
I don't know about those circlejerking idiots on /vn/ or /jp/, but I thought it was great. I prefer After Story, but Terra was a brilliant culmination of the VN up to that point.
If you haven't you should read Rewrite as well. Kanon got an anime that basically covered the vn, the Busters anime it complete and utter shit but the only thing worth reading Busters for is Refrain anyway. As a Clannadfag, there is nothing in Rewrite as bad as the worst parts of Clannad.
>But a lot of people hate it as well.
The irony being that some hate it for exact same reasons you pointed out why it's so good, really, the sheer amount of overexposure a single scene has is not for everyone, with things such as 500 words to portray Battler looking at a goddamn grandfather clock and what he thinks of it
The writing goes to absolute shit during Chiru. The storyline of Beatrice is very ambitious and mostly very well done, but Umineko completely drops the ball half way through.
>VN's plot develop itself in a world akin to our real world
>Complains there is sex in it
Sorry to break it down, but outside of your basement people have sex, specially when they have romantic feelings between each other like those 2d characters have
I'm going to list three VNs, two of which feature H scenes. The sex scenes are short and not too graphic in the first, the second is borderline snuff-film tier shit, but all of them are great stories in their own right. Give them a chance, they're not about their H scenes.
Fate: Stay Night, Saya no Uta, and Umineko no naku Koro Ni. First is an odd fantasy piece about a war for the Holy Grail, the second is the lovechild between H. P. Lovecraft and Silent Hill that's been exposed to emotional abuse from a very young age, and the last one's a series of mystery novels.
I started playing this shit. The MC is really an annoying piece of shit but the character interactions are gold. I finished Slutty maid's route and didn't like it. I"m going to try the fake tsundere next.
Nigga, one half of the crewmembers is retarded/nutcases, one half is just happy to get some dicking and arent too concerned about sharing, and one half only have you able to pick one of them.
yes thats 3 halves
What I didn't like most about Clannad is the pacing. There is so much time spent on needless slice of life and repetitious Japanese humor that doesn't move the story or character development forward.
You could say the same thing about real life.
I get why a lot of people would just want to get on with the story, but personally, I liked the way you could just sort of live in it for a couple of weeks.
Shhhh, don't ruin twists for people
By far the single highest point of it, for me, was the end of chapter 3. Chiru dropped the ball too much for it's climaxes/emotionally loaded scenes to do much.
Umineko had potential, but in the end Higurashi is better.
>What's rare is a VN with a harem route
Huh? I assume you meant one where the harem route is the True / Canon route cause there's plenty of VNs with Harem routes.
Utawarerumono is a good example where Harem is the True way, in fact, it's the only way.
>How am I supposed to take this cum-guzzler seriously as a character anymore?
People have sex. Lovers have sex.
Your mom had sex and probably guzzled the same amounts of cum from your dad's dick, get the fuck over it.
Had no idea about that. Good that I dropped the game, I guess.
Yes most is just as you described.
But good ones with none are
Kirakira (2 versions exist, one has h content, one dosent)
Umineko (but it's shit)
SymphonicRain (Ok I guess)
Here you go.
>Underwater ray romano
Oh god I miss that game. It was release in English back when VNs were way niche and we clung to whatever shit we could get our hands on at the time.
The big "plot twist" near the end was way out of left field, though.
>How am I supposed to take the genre seriously when a top-rated entry dives into hardcore porn at the drop of a hat and that's not even considered worth mentioning?
But that's actually even more realistic, if you think about it.
Our life has everything, including sex.
So, theoretically speaking, if you wanted to make the perfect story, the most realistic story, which has everything (or at least most problem realistic human being encounter), you would HAVE to add sex. But this is just a thought experiment.
So, in a way, a story HAVING sex, has actually more merit, since it represents more possibilities and more relations between human beings.
Now, when a story RELIES on sex, that is entirely different matter.
So, if sex just a bullet-point on your list that you mention nonchalantly - that actually good, or at least not bad, since you came even closer to the more realistic depiction of human interaction.
You may think such a thought experiment is useless, but think about video games. What if we made an actual life simulation? Sex would have to be a part of it. This is just how things are.
But does this happen with video games now? Well, not really.
Still, a story including sex is not the same as the story about sex.
I still have it installed on my computer
Still waiting for the Sequel, LEAF announced a week before they announced Tears to Tiara 2, way fucking back in 2011, now Tears to Tiara 2 is on its way to get localized already, and we still have no news on Ray Romano 2.
>not play nukige with a backstory so you can fap harder when the innocent girl turns into a massive slut
Shit nigga what the fuck are you doing
Boy I sure love seeing myths, legends and lore being raped.
End of 2 was my favorite. It was all good until episode 6. Then it was just a nose dive and the writer calling me a faggot for wanting an answer to something written as a mystery, that he couldnt answer well after writing himself into a corner.
millen and the and the reaper girl and the golem girl as retards/nutcases. the 3 main girls at the last half, and the tree girl, fairy girl and some others are just happy for dicking.
I've never actually played Triangle Blue, I just remember playing Dark Blue way back and liking it.
What attracted me to it were the CGs, which were quite fucked up, so I had to read the story to see what happened.
Literal autism or 4chan's unstated definition of autism?
Does Kohakuren, those two angels, and that fairy fit in another half? Then it'd be a quarter.
>I can't think of a ero-less VN that I've read that wasn't good or great
What about Sakura Spirit?
>Does Kohakuren, those two angels, and that fairy fit in another half? Then it'd be a quarter.
look nigger, dont be a bitch about partitions and just accept that there isnt any trouble due bitches being strange
No flaws? He's fucked up from the start and can barely interact with the people in the school properly.
He got saved and spends his time trying to save these girls he's now friends with because they don't deserve their shit either.
I don't see how anybody sees Yuuji as "flawless" or "self-insert." No way in fuck I'd want to be that guy. Makina's route reveals more of how fucked he is. He's not as confident as the beginning makes him out to be.
I don't mind the whole soldier deal, but the sense of superiority and 'teacher' crap he spews out is enough to make me hate him. let alone his 'beep-boop i am a robot' routine when someone displays ANY kind of emotion. I've played my fair share of VN's and the only good ones so far include
>implying he wasnt just bantering because that was his way of protecting his sensitive side
its like tsundere but then instead of tsun tsun he bantered.
he's annoying, constantly reffering to yourself as a 'dog' or 'piece of weaponry' isn't cool, it's being a tryhard.
>i'm a brooding soldier
>but that doesn't stop me from being witty!
Yuuji thinks of himself as trash. Sure he thinks he's superior in terms of the fact that the girls aren't exactly outdoorsmen, but when it comes to being a decent human being he sees himself as completely worthless.
Why do you think he tries so hard to help the girls in the actual routes?
Well when you're only worth was as a child soldier, then you start to think yourself as a piece of weaponry.
Try reading more of the novel before making judgements. It's called character development and backstories. Some of the girls seem pretty stupid before their flashbacks as well.
Sachi's route and Makina's route explain why Yuuji acts like a tryhard edgelord (he's not actually a tryhard).
Well OP, if you claim to like VNs but ignore all the ones with any h-content, you're missing out then. Not my problem.
Just means you don't get Sharin no Kuni, Swan Song, Fate/Stay or Tsukihime, Hoshizora no Memoria, Muv-Luv Alt, Kara no Shoujo, CrossChannel, the one you actually posted, Saya no Uta, etc.
One of the few VNs that I still replay to this day. Not translated though. I'd suggest trying it.
There's porn but the actual gameplay and the story is fucking brilliant.
Muramasa is my next read.
>How am I supposed to take this cum-guzzler seriously as a character anymore?
The same way you take any other cum-guzzler seriously? Look around ya nigga, most of the women you see in your day to day life have guzzled some cum. Some of the guys have too.
It's a fact of life son
i've almost finished sachis route and the fact that he literally has the answers to everything is stupid. He's a child soldier? cool, he should act like one. when he goes from slice of life teacher to 'muh hand wants to kill' it completely throws off his 'soldier' act. if he was at least a little shit in social interactions like someone of his background would be, that would make his character less shit. a character isn't interesting if they can hide their 'flaw' so well it might as well not fucking exist
i've been playing this the past couple days. what the fuck is happening in this shit. the first half before platinum jail was really interesting, but the game just shits itself an ending for each route with no resolution to anything.
He spends his entire time being an asshole. Do you really think the way he acts is not a shitty way to socially interact with people?
Sachi and Amane are nice to him for reasons shown in their routes. Makina is an underclassman, which is his soft spot. Yumiko's writer sucks ass, so those interactions really are awful. Michuru hates his guts because he's an asshole.
I don't really see how he had the "answers to everything." He followed some clues around and let Sachi go do some soul-searching. I mean really, what did you expect? That a third party comes in to fix everything? Even shitty incompetent protagonists end up with the answer eventually.
He's accepted by the people in the school because they're all fucked up and were even more socially inept before Yuuji arrived. They hated each other's guts at first, so they've already been through that whole song and dance. Of course they're going to be patient with Yuuji when he's being a complete cock.
I really don't understand how people can look at Yuuji's character and think, "He has no flaws, I would not mind being in his shoes."
every bad ending is complete shit in the game. I dont even know why they bothered. First of all the character immediately changes their stance to the normal idea anyway and then 2 scenes later shit just goes wrong for no reason.
mitchers bad end was really stupid
>I dont want you to go
>um youre right you should go anyway
>she goes, just like the good route
>suddenly: wow she went nuts even though you only said 2 words extra about that she shouldnt go
Granted, I've only been in Japan for a month now, but I've found that girls have obviously superb taste to guys here. It's getting kind of ridiculous.
I see girls play actual games on handhelds in the train all the time, while guys just play fucking puzzle & dragon, kancolle etc.
Girls read good manga on the train, guys just read shounenshit.
What is wrong with this country? It truly is bizzarro /v/
for me its the opposite. I used to just read VNs (didnt know anything about jap culture/animu/mango/etc. I just liked vidya and porn and decided to look for porn vidya, which made me roll into VNs) but now I mostly watch animer. Although that might be because I read most translated VNs
Just on vacation,
A true ken-sama would
>VN thread on /v/
>retards never lurking
>spoonfeeding all over the place
>Finish one route
>Drop it and think about working on it later
>Download another one again, rinse and repeat
>Backlog continues still continues to grow up to this day
I just don't know man.
Minus the boring as shit 1st episode, as it's necessary character introduction for about 20 characters, Umineko is the most fun I've had reading a VN. The characters are great, the music is great and it's just... fun. I don't know how else to describe it. And I didn't even particularly care for the Higurashi VN.
But sometimes H scenes can actually add to the plot in VNs, like pic related.
From what I've read about it, 4th wall breaking is a recurring thing, but aside from those moments, it's not so special.
It isn't far off to call most VNs and AVGs "relationship porn," like that one pfsc comic. VNs are about relationships and romance, sex is just a natural part of that. It should enhance the experience by making it more intimate and personal, instead of having nothing to do with the plot, like FSN, or cheapening it, like most Nukige.
The game was fun, and had amazing art, but the story was a bit weak and all led up to that twist. Basically just 5 hours or so of setup for the big twist, albeit with great H-scenes. Still, it was very touching and unsettling, especially if you play a lot of these games.
deconstruction of the dating sim genre
I havent read a VN in like a year. Anyone know if Majikoi or Muv Luv had any anything translated recently?
This whole threads about VNs without porn. Any suggestions for someone that wants a good story and good porn? No moonrunes though.

Read this post >>255746676 and understand why it's hard to find a good story with god porn.
Holy shit, so that faggot really never got past the 85% of Myako's route?
I fucking knew it.
I really hated the DRM thing they put in right at the end. It completely ruins the moment having to open a text editor and write down sums. The twist is alright but all the characters are as dull as doorstops.
