>another ps3 exclusive
ballin pstriple cant be stopped
So what’s the appeal of this, Saw some vids and looks like it belongs on the PS2 and the animu designs aren’t very sexy, is it some super fantastic gameplay and mechanics that pleases the FGC?
Except not, fightans from previous generations being shoved into the current gen was always a thing, and somehow it even manages to sell, case in point Capcom vs. SNK 2, many people got it on their PS2, they don’t even remember there was a DC version.
gg is already dead in japan, idk who the fuck you think is going to play it in the us, real gg players will hate it for yrc dumb shit and danger time and and it playing too much like reload/blazblue and blazblue players are just going to keep playing blazblue
Xrd is not dead in Japan. The game has a very active, and decently sized community, it's just that it's comprised of only old GG players -- new players dropped the game because they got stomped by the OGs. That won't be as much of an issue in America because losing doesn't cost money and there will be tons of new GG players on netplay to learn with.
>half screen projectile overhead that combos
Not sure how you're coming up with this. The number of people in line for UNIB was usually about the same as Xrd. Xrd just had their line split into 3 so they appeared shorter.
Personally, I am looking forward to it particularly because of how many options you have while on the defensive- most fighting games don't let you do anything but wait and try to guess the incoming mixup or just get hit. UNIB has the GRD system that actively rewards you if you choose to keep blocking the pressure but there are also ways to reverse the situation. This means you shouldn't see stupidly long blockstrings happening nearly as much as most other "anime" fighters.
Also, it plays like a more reasonably paced Melty Blood, which is a game I fucking loved playing by myself but just don't have hands fast enough to be competitive against others.
This is pretty damn airdasher, but with some balling neutral. It's mainly for weaning them into other things. They've already played a bit of Blazblue and a good chunk of Arena.
The developer of this used to be a PC developer. Of course they're mad they're losing one of the 5 exclusive PC developers that were still left.
It doesn't even look like it if you play the game. Jumping is very bad.
Pretty sure you can block air to air attacks and projectiles while jumping.
If you're referring to not being able to block ground normals in the air... I believe Melty was pretty much the same.
>There's no air dashing
Then what would you call it when I jumped as Orie and tapped forward twice and she shifted horizontally across the screen?
Playing is a different experience from just watching.
All I've had to go on were youtube videos and people would be in the air for half the match.
Chill out, just roll with it and learn the game if you want to. After a while you probably wouldn't really mind it if you like it.
because french bread makes games for shitty players that need muh movement. melty players don't know how to space or play a ground game and this is how to appease them while making a more footsies based game
There IS an airdash, but it is extremely risky as you cannot block shit when you use it. You open yourself up to every attack when you do it. Also, only one character can aerial backdash. Looking at match vids, the Assault is mostly used for a universal overhead/mixup option rather than as a mobility option. Only a few characters have double jump as well, so although you can be in the air it's a lot more grounded.
Arcade win rates, not necessarily a tier list but good to see what usually wins when you take factor every skill level.
I'm not the one arguing whether or not it is an airdasher- I'm just pointing out that it does have air dashes to people saying it doesn't. Aquapazza has an airdash character too but I feel that game is much more like Street Fighter than BlazBlue. I think UNIB is somewhere in between. It's going to feel much more familiar to the traditional "airdasher" players though.
So semantics. Whatever they want to call it doesn't change the fact that it's a dash in the air.
>shit load of meter
I don't know if I'd consider 10% out of 200 a "shit load".
Because the arcades take into account all players including new/bad players, and Chaos is not easy to use on top of being weak. Also that's not winrate, it's total amount of matchup points. If every matchup was 5-5 for the character then the total would be 65 (5 x 13) points as this total doesn't include mirrors.
Take notice of Yuzuriha having a rather low total despite being a pretty good character. It's because she's so popular and has a lot of bad players dragging down her calculated matchup points.
UNIB is a bootleg Melty Blood.
Just wait for Xrd.
no johnny no buy
still going to get it for ramchan
Is that Gears of War style active reloads, in a FIGHTING game?
I've gotta try this.
She looks fun. Cant wait to play her.
I don't think so- she just has a certain number of bullets she can fire off before she needs to reload. The reload is a command inpup. Arcana Heart has a character with that mechanic as well.
I can't get over how silly her shoes look.
No, look up at her ammo counter; she reloads, hits the input in the white area of the reload bar, and then the bullets she reloaded start glowing. That's sick as all hell.
yessir, bought a broken ps3 from a pawn shop for $50 that turned out to be on 3.41 ofw
only thing wrong with it was that there was a pog or some shit in the disk drive, I took that shit out and it was good to go
Damn thats great to know. Thanks for the info, im definitely going to give it a shot now then.
It actually is just like gears of war active reloading, although I don't think you reload faster it just reinforces your bullets
But anon, remember when Accent Core +R came out and killed Blazblue already? I mean, you DID buy a copy, didn't you, like everyone else? And play it online all the time, and show everyone your skills, right? I mean, it would be TERRIBLE if you were one of those guys who nutride AC as the best fighting game of all time despite having never played it. That would be silly!
And so, since AC+R performed SO well and definitely did NOT bomb and the latest Blazblue performed SO badly, we can comfortably say that Blazblue is already long dead, right? Right?
Better to be a tier whore than main bottom tier, IMO
>Hilda only interesting character on the cast
>many tier lists put her as worst in game
Tier lists seem really unreliable in this
>Lists Hilda below Akatsuki
>Akatsuki is never played in tournaments but Hilda sees plenty of play
>Hilda flies all around the tier list, sometimes listed as top, sometimes mid, sometimes low
>XRD will rape BB to death, TO DEATH
Is that really such a good thing though? There aren't that many anime players as it is, is it really that good to hope for one game to lose it's playerbase just because you don't like the game?
Yeah the only constant seems to be that people agree Wald, Gordeau, and Merkava are strong. Everyone else's placement is volatile as hell, I've seen a tier list put Vatista in S tier by a pro as well
S: Gordeau, Yuzuriha, Linne, Vatista,
A+: Eltnum, Waldstein, Merkava, Carmine, Hilda
A: Hyde, Orie, Seth
That's what separates GG Dickriders from actual GG fans. In the western FGC where the anie community is niche, you really want the community to grow and flourish. The people who spout nonsense like "Xrd will kill BB!" Are really just posers who haven't even played the game.
The main problem I hear Hilde has is that she has no meterless reversal. In a game with as many defensive options as UNIB, I don't know if that's as big a problem as it would normally be.
I do play +R anon, I also play BBCP, is it really that hard to understand? Just because CT to CSE were admittedly bad games doesn't mean CP is bad.
Also, you should really blame Marn for killing the scene, not CT primarily.
Gosh, what the fuck is with GG fans and this attitude of theirs towards BlazBlue? They finally got a new installment for their favorite series and they STILL feel the need to insult BB any opportunity they got?
What I don't understand is that they are still doing this even AFTER Guilty Gear got revived.
>ASW made BlazBlue
>No GG in sight
>GG fans angry and put their hate towards BlazBlue due to the lack of GG
This is understandable.
>ASW FINALLY announces a brand new GG installment
>GG lives on, BB continues to co-exist alongside GG
>GG fans still angry and hateful at BB
This, is not. Seriously, what the fuck?
arcsys was alive as a company but dead in players' hearts. AC and BBCT pretty much evaporated scenes overnight. we used to run modest 40 man tourneys at university for gg and it just died. the hate for BB will never go away
I really can't get hyped for this game.
The gameplays looks bland, low budget as fuck, music is meh and character designs are somehow even worse than BB's
>die with honor like SNK Playmore after Sega kept Arc away from the guilty gear licence even after the 1 billionth rehash
they should have pulled the most arc sys move possible: a lazy character reskin keeping everything the same.
instead we got a game that was about as good as GG1 and everyone just left
>GuiltyGearfags hijack UNIB thread to whine about BlazBlue
Absolute cancer. Come on you fucks, I thought we were past this petulant shit at this point.
They've been hijacking anime fighter threads ever since Xrd was announced, there's no stopping those faggots.
In other news, about UNIBEL, so let me get this straight, there's a time factor right? The 12 second GRD timer? Apart from being able to RC and 10% damage boost what does Vorpal do?
You can use Vorpal to Guard Cancel for free. Ordinarily it costs 100 meter and you get GRD broken when performing it (unable to use all D moves for a short period of time). Otherwise, you can use to for Chain Shift as you said. Chain Shift is more powerful than RC, as not only can you use it to RC but you can use it defensively to stop time for a moment and see what the opponent is doing. For example you can use it when an opponent would go for an overhead or slower attack in their string and then input a reversal.
cs has to be activated iirc and you exchange the grid stocks for meter,
the changing of 'whos at advantage/has more grd' is just the tug-of-war of the grid meter.. that happens every 12s and one character gets an aura/10%+ dmg buff.. there's no pause for that
The screen doesn't freeze every 12 seconds, you can choose whenever you want to use or not use the chain shift. It's just another possible mixup/read you have to make.
For example, after your throw gets teched the opponent has 8 frames advantage and can hit you with a quick move. But you can chain shift and reversal if they try to do this, or your opponent can read that and bait the chain shift.
I talked to the guy running the demo at Evo and he said they're hoping to get a dub because casual scrubs eat that shit up and they like money, but nothing's set in stone yet.
Shouldn't be too hard to navigate the basic stuff. More specific stuff will probably get translated and posted somewhere on dustloop, the wiki, or wherever the community will hang out.
>Thousand night, Recurrence night, Reverie end Invite, and... [7days Immortal] Unreal Black Things
Eh, yeah, okay.
Yep. The name of his game is Akatsuki Blitzkampf
>A man betrayed her and her group
>Declares all men untrustworthy and restructures entire Order into accepting only women
She's gay right? That's what her background is suggesting, correct, along with the rest of her Order?
Maybe French Bread just likes crossovers. They said they want to add more guest characters in the future...maybe we'll see Filia sometime
speaking of fighting games wheres a good place to start?
Street Fighter 4. There's plenty of people to play and it moves at a pace that allows you to learn fundamentals / footsies.
You can start with whatever you like but having to fight the AI all the time may teach you some pretty bad habits. Also, some characters in games like BlazBlue allow you to feel like you're doing well at even an intermediate level with some pretty scrubby techniques. See this video:
The latest version is Ultra. As for system to play it on it depends on people you know who will play you. I personally suggest console because steam netplay is shit right now. Also, consider BlazBlue CP on ps3, that game is pretty beginner friendly too.
Ultra is the most recent. Between PS3 and 360, 360 is generally recommended because of both performance / online and player base. I think the the previous version (Arcade Edition) is even free with XBL right now, or at least it was a few weeks ago. If you can get AE for free, you'll only pay $15 to upgrade to Ultra.
PC version of Ultra isn't out yet but if you've got a decent rig, it will perform / look the best and you'll have a wider selection of controllers you can use for it. Online is an unknown at this point though.
Best Autistic ancient artificial battle loli.
Physical copy from play-asia, digital from HK PSN if I can't wait and they even get it.
Play-asia's shipping speed has always amazed me. Amiami, on the other hand, is always disappointing because they have you confirm payment before sending out the shipment and their e-mail always arrives at like 2 in the morning so by the time I reply, they're already closed and I'm waiting an extra day.
>tfw vatista and lynne are hundreds of years older than the rest of the cast
Okay, ordering from playasia. They say I should use a business address if possible; should I just label my home address as a business address or just ignore that? It's my first time buying the weab
Also, to add to this- I ordered Aquapazza back on the night of its release in 2012 (Wednesday night in the US) and had the game waiting on my doorstep Friday afternoon.
You pay a lot for shipping but they don't fuck around.
>My face when mustard race
>My face when my favorite anime fightan is Vanguard Princess
>That feel when amerilards ruining everything
I'm buying this game solely so I can play Akatsuki, Super Electric Nazi of the past. I don't actually care for the rest.
He's the manliest motherfucker on the cast, which is funny considering he's a guest character.
I don't mind. I think it'd be a good way to improve myself if I have to play better. He just looks too fun to pass up. Besides, tier lists don't matter until tournament level play.
Vatista has the best attack quotes
Ba ba ba ba!
So will this last a decade like melty?
Or will they botch it somehow and just go back to riding on fate/stay
inb4 Saber added as guest character like Sion
more like why is vatista such a fuckinng slut.
She's not a slut, she'a just too autistic to understand that people find it weird for 12 (looking) year old girls to walk around without or with very little clothes. The clothes were Hyde's suggestion.
This was posted on /vg/, UNIEL stream. Looks like a tournament should be on soon.
>Thousand Night, Recurrence Night, Reverie and Invite. and...[7days Immortal]
>Vatista's time up animation
Tthere goes my heart...
This game has so much english gibberish that Im starting to question if I really know english
>Kill each other, but it's good "INVERSES"
What the fuck is that even supposed to mean
I cant even fucking guess
I wanted to main Gordeau / Merkava, but now I'm just gonna be mistaken for a tier whore.
Well. *cracks knuckles* I'll just drink the scrubs' salty tears if they talk shit
After watching this game in action... I'm seeing how Akatsuki would be bottom tier. He doesn't have stretchy arms, a sword, literal bullet hell, or any real long range normal comparable to the majority of the cast.
Oh well. He's got a reflector and manliness. That'll be enough.
Actually someone did it on dustloop.
So what makes this game different from other anime fightan games?
Also I love how GG shitposters always seem to come in these threads. Xrd is pretty dead in Japan right now, jpn streams of arcades rarely have players playing the games and it's not that popular by old GG fans.
BBCP is the second most popular arcade game in japan right now. I don't see Xrd picking up until a few more version updates and characters added. It will be dead for a good 2 years probably.
MB is highly respected by a lot of people and this is by the same team. It's also an actually new IP in fighting games, a genre that's so tired and worn down by its constant rehashes so it's always great to see a new game with new characters. Plus, it's 2D with sprites and uses some surprisingly unique gameplay mechanics that seem to work really well. It looks like an anime fighter at first glance, but is more comparable to games like KoF. It's extremely well rounded.
>Depletion of EXS
>Vanishment of VOID
These are the most retarded one-liners I've ever heard for a fighting game. Even moreso than BB's "Rebel" shit. Why do those fucking Japs insist on throwing in random English words to sound "cool"? It literally makes no sense and confuses the fuck out of everyone.
SF4 is simple, effective and to the fucking point:
Goddamn. He may have lost, but he got a perfect and a chance at the comeback. I'm back on the Akatsuki hype train. Those combos looked so fucking cool, and it looks like he's actually got some good pressure tools.
Arc Sys tried to sell on Wii, failed miserably. They won't be releasing games off Sony platforms for a very long time. Inb4 P4U2, that game is only on 360 outside Japan where Arc Sys aren't publishing it.
>Sion moved to inbirth
>Sacchin still has Tsukihime
>Roastbeef left to die alone
they will include her in the next update right?
Yup. And im going to buy Unib, and Xrd, and Ultimax.
I like playing video games, not whine about ones i don't like in a genre where the last thing it needs is more segregation and spite in its already very finite fan base.
right click-paste you dofus
I wish I set up livestreamer earlier, would've been easier to record than using OBS to capture my popout window. Oh well, at least I can use it next time I feel like recording.
>Relaxing in the middle of a battle
I can see someone isn't taking fights with shit like spider Yu, school girls with swords bigger than they are, and whatever the hell Merkava is seriously.
So is Gordeau really as "no damage, just range" as I've seen so far? Haven't been really following the game after awhile, waiting for PSN to leak so I can try, gonna ask anyway to bump the thread as well.
You gotta be shitting me, really? Every time I saw somebody playing him he always got his shit pushed in. How?
Also this loli is 2qt in her reactions/animations/voice/overall design but goddamn do I hate this fighting style.
This is just peachy, now people won't even believe me when I tell them I wanted him as a main since I saw him the moment he appeared on the official site.
This also happened in MB too. They're the only 2 fightan where I chose the high tier chars without noticing.
Just one of those things, can't be helped.
