Dixie was cut from Brawl and DK series seems to be getting attention this time around, I fully expect to see a Dixie reveal trailer featuring a Gangplank Galleon stage with K Rool stage boss.

Mewtwo was also cut from Brawl and 64, Sakurai seems to like him and he's generally popular. Had a recent movie. Wouldn't be surprised if he were brought back.

I'd say maybe Mach Rider since he was considered for Melee and we don't have a retro rep yet. Who knows.

Sakurai isn't fond of implementing big characters, or villains, and now he has devised a way to kill two birds with one stone in that regard by relegating any potential big villain newcomers to being stage bosses. Combine that with Kremlings and a "big Kremling" boss in Smash Run, and I'd say that the as of yet unrevealed Wii U DK stage will be a Gangplank Galleon stage with K Rool stage boss. The trade off being that 3DS gets Kremlings and maybe Kludge or Krusha, while Wii U gets K Rool.

A little boring but i was trying to stay realistic.

I personally believe the boss thing was a misdirection. I know I could be wrong, but it's just what I'm going to hope is going on. Sakurai stated other boss characters, and Bowser is himself a boss character. We've also yet to see any other boss characters revealed outside of Dedede. He only showed Ridley's shadow and only implied that he was a boss. You don't have to take the shadow analysis as fact, but comparing his body (since the wings are in the z-axis and not a problem) he's on par with Bowser in size. Since every shadow in the same location will distort in the same manner we can gauge his "bigness" to others.

He's been teasing Ridley for nigh unto a year now. Next month is 1 year since Pyrosphere stage was shown. That's a long time to not show a boss hazard you've been hinting at don't you think? We've seen every other boss hazard so far that got shown. Not fully showing Ridley is just weird.

The shadow moved without scripted animations, much like a playable character. Some say he may not have been finished but since they didn't even so much as tease Yoshi due to how he stood I just find it unlikely they'd show something unfinished.

He's heavily requested and those that request him don't mind if he's tweaked to be viable and playable. Much like how Ganondorf isn't godlike in power unable to be killed by only the Master sword, Ridley would be tweaked as well.

I don't think he's for sure to get in but I'm not taking Sakurai at face value. He's lied about character reveals before. Remember how he said Namco got no special treatment for helping to make the game? This was a lie, because he stated the roster including Pacman had been finilazed near the very beginning two years ago. I think it's possible he's "lying" for a Ridley reveal.

The thing that seems to be the most controversial thing about it is that he's in the air for quite a long time. This could be his new mechanic however, much like Mac is all about the ground, Ridley could be all about the air. Perhaps he has a glide like Peaches? The more jumps he takes before the glide, the less it will last or not work at all. Something to make him not able to fly like Meta Knight from Brawl but let him move vertically well enough for battle.

This is how I think the roster is going to look. Maybe not exactly like this as far as characters go, but the number. In Brawl the character slots scrunched down into rectangles when they had been squares. You can't just take the exact sizes of the starting roster boxes and have them fill out the screen. I'd wager they did this so people couldn't gauge how many were on the roster.

Like a 50 character roster shouldn't really exceed 5 third parties, and even then it should only be that many if they are big names like the ones we have. Ones from Castlevania or Final Fantasy would be fine, or ones that are pretty much exclusive like Layton.
