At the end of MGS1 Ocelot had Liquids arm grafted onto his. In MGS2 he starts getting possessed by the arm (most likely because his father was The Sorrow so he possess some psychic abilities).
After this happened he had it removed and another arm was put on. He then hypnotised himself to believe he was Liquid and that is when he became Liquid Ocelot.
He was only possessed in MGS2 because he spoke like Liquid. This is why his voice was back to normal in MGS4.

Get the Substinence version, it includes a proper 3rd person controllable camera. The problem is that in large areas you get huge FPS drops, I don't know whether it's the engine or PCXS2 but regardless of resolution or emulator settings your FPS can drop really low at times.

He got the arm attatched for whatever reason. Due to crazy Metal Gear universe the spirit of Liquid was in the arm and started to take him over. He fought it off again and again. Eventually having the arm entirely removed so he could keep his sanity. But then it was decided that his being a crazy fuck was actually useful, and that the persona of Liquid could come in handy. So they get him a new prosthetic one with artificial muscle(not crazy raiden style, just slighlty stronger than a normal arm) and use hypnosis and other shit to make him into a artificial copy of Liquid with just base traits of the original Ocelot.

He then goes on his whole attack plan and the story goes on until the final fight with Snake wherein Snake literally beats the Liquid out of him.

Combine that with a pretty strong connection to Liquid and his family, boosted even more by using the faggots arm... And boom, you get possessed Ocelot. OP to answer your question, Ocelot took the role as Liquid Ocelot after MGS2. He pretended that Liquid took over his entire personality.

The memes part is that Raiden wasn't sure what he is supposed to pass on. Genetics, his history, his ideas, etc. Since Solid and Solidus are both clones of Big Boss, and unable to reproduce, they need to find a way to leave a mark in the history books.

And remember. D-pad stalk when you're crawling around guards too. They can still hear you if you crawl normally like footsteps if you're too close.
If you're fast enough, you don't need to stalk. Just run straight up to them and they'll turn around and notice the footsteps, but by the time they do, you'll be in range to CQC slam/grab them before triggering an alert.

Was the whole story line that occured planned from the start, like when they made MGS1?

As there seems to be nothing that really confirms it in the rest of the series after MGS1, maybe I missed something but it just seems like the story line was made after MGS1.

For example when you are being tortured in MGS1 and are pretty much unconscious and Ocelot is the only one in the room with you he mutters stuff like "I do all this for mother Russia, I love mother Russia" but then the later games say he never gave a fuck about Russia at least during MGS1 and it was all a ruse.

But why when on his own would he mutter stuff like that, if he didn't give a shit about Russia.

He was one of the easiest to kill as well, next to Fear who got stamina killed because I threw out 20 tarantulas and poison frogs, and the End because, well, my entire food storage was Reticulated Pythons, Calorie Mates, and Instant Noodles so he didn't really have a chance to tranq kill me. For The Fury all you had to do was shoot him 3 times with the MK22 and then he'll do the wounded animation and run off, then you just wait for him to walk back around since he's loud, slow, and a large target. Well, you still go up against The Feels, although I had to go through it 3 or 4 times before I figured out that you have to use the Revival Pill after you walk into him to get the Souls camo. After the second time I couldn't get it I just pumped Snake full of LF Meds and rubberbanded the L Analog Stick on my controller down. It was weird how Reptile could evade the Feel's blasts just by walking straight ahead since The Feels doesn't correct his aim during the animation.

The hardest bossfight was probably the first time you fight Wheelgun Cat, since he moves around a lot and I don't think there's any MK22 ammo near you, plus the bitch ass Feline Squad keeps interfering just when I start to kick his ass.

The Patriots were Zero, Paramedic, Sigint, EVA, Ocelot, and at times Big Boss. But he couldn't stand just how rotten they had gotten. Around the time of MGS1 they created the A.I.s. This was also when Paramedic and Sigint died, while EVA dropped off the map. Ocelot kept running around with crazy spy games, and Zero, who was already in his 50's or so by the time of MGS3 was getting truly fucked by old age as the AIs gained enough intelligence to take over for him.

You guys realize Ocelot was never really possessed by Liquid, or at least not after MGS2?
