Also, has anyone seen the cactuar in the academy yet?
This is one of the best FF games ever made.
Now take the atmosphere of FF8, fill it with DESPAIR, and then make the rest of the game actually fun to play, and you have this game.
I dub this game, FF8 2.0, fixed edition.
I'm so fucking sold.
What platform is this on?
PSP, the current fan translation is played on that, or emulated on PPSSPP with some bugs.
It will be officially re-released in HD everywhere on vita and PS4 if i'm not mistaken.
Eight, holy shit, this character is fun as fuck.
Trey, can't stand playing as him.
Chapter 5, I am never using Machina again, the little fucker
I generally run Eight/Rem/Queen, with Nine and Ace in backup. Rem's fun too, and OP as all hell with Don't Die.
I've been getting horrible lag during the last several missions for some reason on the emulator. It was running pretty good before this. Any ideas? Only happens during missions for some reason.
v0.9.8 is the latest public release build, you can find the dev builds here:
If you really want to play it on 0.9.8 you can, but you'll just have white/wireframe shadows, and a couple screwed up cutscenes.
probably a good idea, as the quest is part of a line used to recruit Naghi, which shouldn't be done until you second playthrough, since you'll miss a scene only viewable in your first playthrough. Go to https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AqRPQz13F4fZdDVtdWdRV2pqWWdyLVViMWxtVklOY2c#gid=51 for more info.
Yeah I heard about those and I'm not completing their requests. They're too high-level anyway.
I always have like 2 days worth of time when I'm done though, I guess they're supposed to be for the combat exercises
same here, but I'm too scared to try one. Until now, anyway, my units are somehow at a level where they could actually take it on, so I'm training them a bit in mock battles, and then moving out.
Holy shit, I got so fucking mad playing through that, I couldn't even use him anymore. Banished to the bench. He was fun to pay though, plan on using him more in NG+
You mean the thing inside the arena, right?
I keep getting slowdown on that for whatever reason, anyone else getting that? I'm playing on PPSSPP v0.9.8, and I'm fairly sure it isn't a hardware issue/
I tried one when they were unlocked, there was a couple enemies hidden behind roadblocks in a town.
Their bullets OHKOd my characters and I was doing 0s and 1s to the roadblocks so I got a game over
I found a cheat that Maxes it out, but that's all I could find for alternative methods
you mean the big things wandering around on the world map? yeah, I had the same thought
Accidentally running into them while on the world map is a terrifying experience.
It just gives you this sense of inescapable dread
I don't think so. I wish you could, though. Actually I haven't tested out using a teleport crystal - that might work. But I don't think it would be worth because you'd go all the way back to the academy, and have wasted 6 hours
Anxiously waiting for the PS4 release before I play it, the wait is killing me
Not the guy you're talking to but I get frustrated trying to play it on my psp. I fucking hate the CLAW to have to use camera controls and the smaller screen doesn't help when things get action packed.
I see. I'm using a PS
2controller, not being able to use the other analog is really strange in this game. While I can bind the arrow key's to the analog 2, it feels really jerky and off. I'd recommend mostly abandoning the arrow keys unless you're outside of combat or a mission, and just relying on lock-on to change the camera.

>My face when playing with Jack and Cinque
I'm sorry I just can't NOT rape everything
For gameplay he didn't really stuck on me, i guess it's his awkward speed, not being too fast to be awesome and not being too slow to be brutal
As for his character, well, he's a faggot
It also doesn't help that you spend pretty much 2 chapters without touching him
He does looks cool when he poses though
Heavy hitter like Jack, but more focus on Charge moves, Stuns, and AOEs.
>Maxed full swing can charge up ten times
Jesus christ. Right now I have her with an AOE Stun and spinning attack. While I'm basically two-shotting everyone with Jack, she's off screen either stunning enemies or mowing them down. And then I have rem as a heal bitch.
I've got almost everybody on equal levels except for like four characters. Everyone is just so fun to use. Jack and Cinque especially though. Dat massive damage.
Oh, just you wait
How do I into King?
He seems pretty popular, but I can't really make him work. What's a good build?
Oh boy a type-0 thread!
>ctrl f Seven
Are you kidding me? How can you deny these bike shorts?
Her shorts ain't got the same power as Shiva's transparent skirt
When I first started playing I was avoiding using her because I thought a whip would be a boring weapon but when I finally used her in battle I saw that her weapon was actually a motherfucking SNAKE SWORD. Too cool. That shit has to be one of the neatest fantasy weapons ever.
Relatively, Machina is the only character who gets any sort of development throughout the course of the game.
Also despite how easily exploited he was, most of his bullshit was pretty justified when you think about it.
>>Who's your main
>>Least favorite character
Cater. She does fill in any role very well and her damage is piss poor. She can't even exploit Break/Kill sights anywhere as good as Trey or King.
>>What chapter you on
Chapter 5. Mainly because I'm using Deuce's auto-leveling right now for 6 characters because I hate mission out on those optional missions. NOT ANYMORE.
I don't know about good but I enjoy roleplaying Queen as the self-less paladin character with that Sigil ability. If only it did more damage...
>Relatively, Machina is the only character who gets any sort of development throughout the course of the game
And it's terrible. He's the type of character I hate the most, that bases all of their judgment calls and ideals on emotions. Then gets easily manipulated because of it. Every other character is cool in their own way, yet the game would rather focus on Machina's pity party and lashing out against people who don't deserve it. Fuck him for stealing the spotlight.
Eh, it's all Rem's fault anyway, if only she's not such a wallflower, saying 'I'm okay!' like a broken record, just tell him what's wrong and be more assertive to him, Machina wouldn't be such an emo shithead.
Either Ace or Eight, its kinda hard to choose
Personality/Plotwise: Machina, every chapter that passes it becomes harder and harder to sympathize with him as he becomes such an asshole. Playstyle: Cinque maybe I just haven't played her enough but I can't enjoy playing her(which is odd since Jack is like my 3rd/4th most active character).
Start of Chapter 7
Running either Ace-Rem-Queen or Eight-Deuce-King depending on who I prefer using ATM
It pisses me off that Ace is basically the only character capable of having more than two moves at a time.
You get so many good abilities, yet can only use two. It's bullshit. I hope they revamp the FUCK out of this game for next gen.
Remember guys, The only time where it's possible to get the airship is at the Chapter 7. Go to the Vail Wastes and make sure you're at least level 37.
Huh? What do you mean more than two moves? Do you mean builds because I'm sure theres a lot of variance in builds? Or do you actually mean moves because in that case you can't forget that Eight's Forms(3 of them) have 4 moves each. Honestly I think they balanced the amount of moves you can put based on button inputs possible and keeping in mind you technically control 3 characters at a time.
Suggestions tend to vary but you should be fine with 3 though I recommend having a backup team so maybe level 5-7 characters in total. Also a reminder that Rem and Machina are sometimes unavailable later on.
You can beat the chapter without Bahamut 0. In fact, if you want to do everything you have to do the mission at least 6 times.
Three times where you beat Shinryuu by yourself and three times where you beat it with Bahamut 0.
The three times refer to mission difficulty.
Machina's kind of weak willed character in that the entire game is basically everyone playing on his whole I want to become strong to protect Rem and Suzaku.
Makes things silly when
he winds up killing Rem by accident and suicides right afterwards
>Machina's kind of weak willed character
Which is happen because nobody, especially Rem, would open up to him. Look at the chapter 4, when he asked the team to rest nobody back him up, even Rem herself, which is the one why he actually asked for. If only Rem would just open up to him, he'll treat her as an equal and she can be the chain to link him to the rest of Class Zero and Arecia. So the 'I have no friends in this class' would never in his mind and he can't be used with the Rem talk because he actually knows what's wrong with her.
Just use Jack if you want to pull through with skill.
>abusing items for protect and aura
>hitting weakpoints with that ridiculously quick attack
>taking advantage of counters invincibility & damage
I was around level 20 when I did my first combat exercises. Took many tries, but eventually beat the first one and it just became easier as I went along.
For behemoth cave
>be level 40ish
>get one shotted
>learn to counter every one of its attacks as Jack
So to sum it up
Machina is the prime example of what happens when an outsider enters something like Class 0.
I think things could have gone better if it wasn't for the Commandant though because then he wouldn't have to be worrying about the whole I gotta do this or else they'll use Rem.
I got the fucking ttanslated fame and it hangs on the first fucking loading screen. What the fuck? I got pro b 6.20, what am i doing wrong?
Just to clarify this is
Chapter 5? If so huh, maybe should have tried that, all I did was reset once my ranged characters(plus Seven) were dead because it was mad hard to kill sight the boss with melee characters. Even got the poison bow from the SO, which is nice.
What about Rem herself though? She seemed to integrate well with the class, and they seemed to care for her as well, especially during chapter 5/6 when
Machina vanished. Also take into account that "Mother" told Class Zero not to get too close to Rem and Machina as while their paths intersected they would have different destinations.
>I think things could have gone better if it wasn't for the Commandant though
While also true, this also happens because he has no one to trust, if you don't notice Rem actually also keeping her distances with him ever since he asked her about her AIDS.
>What about Rem herself though? She seemed to integrate well with the class, and they seemed to care for her as well
Exactly! She could facilitate the gap between Machina and Class Zero, she could be his confidant, she could be someone just for Machina to talk to. But she wouldn't do all that because she's afraid of making machina worry and never speak up to him. She's just a yes girl.
This fucking bossfight holy fucking shit. Now I know why SE didn't want to bring this game to the west.
Just a heads up to anyone who isn't at chapter 5 yet; level up a ranged character.
>level up a ranged character.
Heh. Just go solo, stay at the opposite end of Shinryuu, use Queen's Energy Combo(don't scatter it) or Ace's Cannon Laser when she started to charge at you, dodge to the side and watch her becomes an easy picking. Repeat as necessary.
I highly doubt anyone competent with a fully functional brain wouldn't level up a range character after seeing that gundam for the first time. That was pretty much a prelude for what to expect.
The boss has 3 attacks Anon, 3 Attacks. One of those attacks leaves them in kill sight, all you have to do is dodge the 2-3 usage of the other two attacks in between it being vulnerable. Fire ball is easy, just dodge left after the first fireball hits, its the lightning balls that are annoying because they impact at close to the same time. Honestly its more tedious(pattern learning and not messing up) than hard. Also Bahamut Zero comes if all your dudes die so theres that.
It has 3 attacks that all one shot you. Plus you get a sweet weapon for Trey if you beat it with the red S.O. so dying isn't really something you want happening. Also, I never said it was hard.
Queen is boring, so fuck that.
Never underestimate the stupidity of humans. And the Qator fight near the start his mecha freezes up. This boss rushes at you fast 1 shotting you.
I like King and Deuce too much to choose, with Queen and Ace only slightly behind.
Cater; Cinque is less useless but she's too cute to dislike with Toyosaki Aki as her VA.
Just downloaded on Saturday and already 55 hours in, this shit is so addicting; on chapter 6 of 3rd playthrough right now, I need to grind a ton and fight 8arm Gilgamesh before I go to 4th+.
DEUCE AND ANYTHING
It does not fucking matter, you can go with shitters or even solo, she is the best character hands down; no-MP heal with passive Protect bonus, very heavy self-aoe up+attack, and most importantly, SHE DOESN'T EVEN HAVE TO DO SHIT, all you need to do is tap attack and get her fairy to come out, then run around the enemy in circles and let the little fairy fucker kill everything.
>Queen is boring, so fuck that.
Ah, the kind of people that refuse to use a character because of your subjective views and not acknowledging their usefulness. I wonder how your brain works.
I've been using Magazine Bomb and Endless Waltz. Dunno about Powered Bullet
>He fixes his hair after a kick
She's like Seven but shitty. I've played every character for at least a few hours and the only ones I just can't use are Cinque, Cater and Nine. And Nine at least has Safety Guard, so he's not entirely worthless.
>Who's your main
with academy support
>Least favorite character
>What chapter you on
Bah sorry for sounding aggressive, the boss fight brings out the worst in me due to how difficult it seems but how easy it actually is. Anyway yes the three attacks can one shot you but they are easy to dodge(minus the thunder balls) and the boss has a massive tell on when its going to use the last attack which if you're ranged you have a lot of time/space to hit the killsight.
>King has a different animation for using quickdraw when weapons are not out
I don't need to use the best possible character because I'm not terrible at video games. If you need to min max to progress thats fine, you're just a terrible gamer.
Cater is powerful as fuck and easily one of the best characters for killsights.
Anyone else tried Queen with Janus' Glasses? LET HER DIE, she reraises as a yandere split personality. She is in auto-killsight so she gets 1shot, but if you use that form well you can FUCK SHIT UP, her normal attack becomes a reckless rush attack that staggers the shit out of everything, and her special becomes a pseudo-Zantetsuken.
PB is shit, Endless Waltz is godtier because of its critrate, Magazine Bomb is decent. Haven't tried out the counterattack one too much yet so don't know how it does.
How about you give us a reason to like her instead? She has a shitty selection of abilties and her having the lowest attack rating of any character doesn't help her case any better.
Also, despite being a range character she can't make good use of it for break sights or kill sights because her projectile speed is too slow.
There's no such thing as a bad character just one who isn't good for the situation.
However, the problem with Cater is that her skills are on the bad side since most of them are purely ailment inflicting while her best skill is a giant AP glut (You need about 64 AP to max it out).
Kill Sight abuse isn't really all that special because the other ranged characters are good at it and in the case of Trey, Concentrate + MAX Charge tends to hit hard enough that you don't even need to wait for it.
Not calling her shit, but she's kind of outclassed in most aspects by the other ranged.
Best for killsights? Cater? That's not King, that's not King at all.
In case you didn't know, if you attack directly after a roll with him, he does a doubleshot that is much faster than his normal attack, you can hit every killshot at any distance easily unless they are moving incredibly fast, and even then, at close-mid range it will still hit every time.
>Dissing other people for a justification on his way of thinking
>incorrectly calling a character the best possible so he can feel good for not using her
Yeah, I think I understand now.
He never misses closerange ones either though. All the difficult mobs to sight are long range and can fly, sighting things on the ground can be done with no problem, the one exception being Warrior mechs, since they sometimes double-triple rush and can Fury for no fucking reason.
Cater attacks are extremely fast, though, probably one of the fast attacks in the game, besides her charge shot, which is what I'm sure you're talking about. But all you need for that is timing, like everybody else. Also, her low attack doesn't really effect my game much, since her attack rate plus her charge shit finisher makes up for it.
Yeah, you're right about the AP thing and that she doesn't really have a niche. However, I find her skills to be pretty useful, honestly.
Anyway, I was just wondering why you all rated cater so low, is all. At the end of the day, we'll just play the characters we like, eh?
>My face when I sent my best 3 characters to the Big Bridge in chapter. 5
Welp, time to load.
I barely understand this shit, so, like, when it says "Who do you want to take with you" on the mission, it lets you pick absolutely everyone, but you can only take 3 of those with you as your team. What exactly is even the point of picking that big group or whatever? Do the ones you don't select not get XP or something, or does the XP get divided and smaller groups are preferable for higher levelling of the ones you like so you just abandon the shitty ones, or ... what.
Also what the hell is the difficulty curve, I was doing the attack on that one town with all the coeurls and the part where you have to survive the golem for a set amount of time and most of it was fine and I breezed through it but then suddenly a random post-mission get thrown in against Mecha boss fight like 6 levels above me and practically unhittable by melee? What the hell?
HOLY FUCK I CAN'T CONTAIN MY EXCITEMENT
A WORLD MAP IN TRUE HD TO SCALE
Unless they're all your ranged characters you don't need to worry. Chapter 5 is pretty easy if you go ranged.
But it is fucking stupid how they do that when you can just call them back before chapter 6 starts anyway.
The reserves are exactly that, you can call on those guys when your party members die.
And just dodge all the mech's attacks and wait for it to crash, smash it rinse and repeat. If you need to grind just keep redoing the mission until you succeed. You can go back to the school at any time and keep all your exp.
aren't we talking about Academy Reserves? You are forced to take the entire main cast into the last dungeon, I said King and Queen were the last ones alive because the rest were dead, as they were all in the low 20s so I just used them as fodder.
Final dungeon was a bitch to clear without a guide though, I can't imagine how terrible it was before the translation was out. The worst mission so far for me was the Meroe army battle map, I must have failed that 7 times before I got all the things to work right/killed the warship in time/killed all the turrets in time/pushed back the Helldivers enough to take camp 4 and the enemy base. FUCKING HELLDIVERS.
Her charge attacks are nothing like her normals with actually home in. They massive majority of the time unless the enemy as half the size of the screen. And fastest attack? You're joking at this point as that title belongs to Machina which I honestly did not want to bring up because he's just that much of a faggot. But if we're talking strictly range characters then I'd still prefer to use King and his Endless Waltz to dish out the speed.
Seriously, there's no reason to use Cater if we're talking from a technical stand point as there are characters who can fill in her role only do them much better. She excels at nothing other than her mobility and even at that one could argue that Ace and Rem are better because of the properties of their infinite evasion.
>Her charge attacks are nothing like her normals which actually home in. And they miss they miss massive majority of the time unless the enemy as half the size of the screen.
Damn I fucked up bad. I'm sleeping. I've done enough leveling for now.
Anybody else have problems with stuff like picking up items during missions? Sometimes they can't even be targeted even though I'm standing in front of them and it takes a while before I can pick it up. I remember there was a chest in the sewers that I could never get opened
Everyone's evasion is different.
Ace, Queen and Rem for instance can just casually waltz out of a death glyph from an SO failure whilest everyone else need to time their unless they have haste on. Surely you noticed Jack's evasion is nothing like everyone else's when it comes to both speed and distance covered, right?
I don't know what to tell you, friend. When I use Cater, I time the charged shots to hit kill-sights and they rarely miss. I guess because I've played her so much. But yes, I was speaking ranged characters speed. But yeah, dude if you like King better that's cool, you don't have to use Cater. I was just asking earlier what were some of her disadvantages, because I personally couldn't see them. I don't know, I guess I use her as a ranged speedster, I'd say she's pretty good it that.
Nah it's you; Queen's stats spread at max level, without stats boost, are all at the middle with the exception Lightning magic, which still second best to Rem, her MP will only hit 700 and no AG moves of her give enemy Stun or Stop status. Her personal accessory is also a gimmick one that'll only works on missions while giving negligible defenses to magic attack, unlike the rest of them, like Seven that'll boost defense up to 40 and give auto Regen or Sice that'll make each hit give enemy one of the status effect in the game, including Kill Sight.
She is, by all intent and purposes, an average character.
Her normal attack's critrate is also incredible. I'm not saying she's the best, but she is above average at the very least. The reason her exclusive is "useless" compared to the others is that you get it essentially for free, whereas all the rest you have to clear 1027 missions per character to get. And you want that God rank SPP accessory? TOO BAD.
Man, he managed to even outshine the Concordian king, when chapter 5 rolled around and he showed his true colors he never left the bench, I only play with the asshole on the missions in the title screen, I also love how his dickery and his whole bullshit about protectiing Rem managed to weird her out and create distance, she opened more to the rest of the team than to him
Just wrapped up the mission in Chapter 2 and thinking about fluffing up this snowy-haired goddess as my #1. Any tips or shit I should know?
I want to play with
all female teambecause grillbut it bugs me that two of the ones who would be my favorite have these sluggish as hell easily avoidable attacks. Like when I try to use the scythe girl she only ever does a vertical downward swing instead of horizontal and the enemy just sidesteps 2 inches and doesn't get hit every time, or the magic gun girl's magic bullets taking fucklong time to hit their target.
Please tell me they eventually get some ability modifier to their default attacks so that they can actually hit shit
Her up+attack is probably the best thing to use; her normal attack is basically an infinite combo too. She's pretty good, and her AP skill that makes a homing blood tornado is pretty useful since it lasts about 10 seconds.
>Her normal attack's critrate is also incredible
That's it, she's a good melee attacker compared to others. When you're not counting AG moves. I guess I can deal with above average, but the best possible? Please.
Learn how to use the down+triangle because when you fight flying enemies she is a beast
Specially the dragon faggot from chapter 5
Also can you defeat Celestia? Or is it only with super mode?
She has a great focus on hit-and-run and not getting hit back as Absorb Malice is lost upon getting hit(as in entering hit state not just being damaged). All her normal attacks also involve some movement so take into account that. You're right though Sice is a goddess
Too bad her heart belongs to the Captain
I often roll Sice/Rem/Cinque and I tear shit up. Just stick with them until they get some more abilities, and you'll find almost any team is at the very least viable. Sice in particular has some godlike abilities, such as that tornado attack and the one that does that giant red AOE. You can even upgrade it so it gets health drain.
You can beat her. You can beat all but The Darkness of Suzaku, which spawns in a couple missions including the first (briefly). I don't think anything else is unkillable, but some are very strong. Maybe the psycho named Outsider mob that chases you through the sewers.
He chases you up til you get on the train. I still haven't figured out where the fuck he came from/what the fuck he was doing, I assume some information will unlock eventually though if I keep clearing everything, the Codex updates for me basically every mission, even ones I've cleared before.
The named Outsider? I forget his name, the guy with the creepy laugh that chases you through multiple maps; I know normal Outsiders can die, the mission to capture Cetme has you take on 2 at once, that sucked ass. And yeah, Nimbus makes sense.
>I just said she wasn't the best
I dunno I thought you're this guy;>>248750589
>her skills aren't terrible
I disagree but I really don't feel like elaborating. Let's just agree to call Queen is not the best and only above average and leave it at that.
I thik its more because he is a l'Cie type-A and at that point in the story they are pretty much untouchable, Celestia was a freak case or jsut to show how they are really stronger than at the beggining
Alright, thanks bros. Probably gonna fuck with Eight and Nine as well, Eight because he's basically gene, and I fucking love dragoons.
>Too bad her heart belongs to the Captain
I think you are referring to two different guys, theres no way the l'Cie is that big under his cloak, and I don't see any reason for him to be lumbering around in the sewers with a huge weapon killing other imperial soldiers trying to get to you when the l'Cie can just teleport and 1shot you.
Akkad I think was his name. He can be killed with breaksights though it takes a while on the first playthrough. Only issue I had was when he went berserk. The two outsiders in that mission can actually kill each other for some reason.
Different l'Cies have different powers I guess, that guy from Suzaku could basically become a phoenix when flying, Celestia could become a three headed dragon and Nimbus could use laser swords, I absolutely looove how each l'Cie is given a chance to show how powerful they are instead of being treated like trash as they were in XIII
Every thread really needs somewhere at the top. Shit is still handy even when everything is already translated.
Caetuna isn't even the most broken one, if you read all the pyroxenes a couple of them are mentioned taking on every other l'Cie alive plus every other country's army all at once and winning.
>It will be officially re-released in HD everywhere on vita and PS4 if i'm not mistaken.
no. Not for Vita, just PS4 and Xbone. The graphics improvements aren't just slightly better textures, they're redoing the whole thing in Luminous engine.
The female Byakko right? I remember reading a pyroxene about how all the l'Cie of Genbu banded together to fight her and barely managed to win while losing nearly all their forces
Yeah, this doc is super nice, so hard to catch all the events since time is a factor and locations of some NPCs change based on the clock. Also, good for refreshing S.Os in certain maps trying to get the one you want without missing it.
I just fired it up and only had time to play up to the first save point (Bahamut). I am really fucking impressed with what little I've seen. The combat is very Crisis Core-y which is great, and the tone is dark as fuck, which is a nice change from melancholy or adventurous optimism.
I'm already considering swapping the d-pad mapping to the right analog; would this make sense to those of you who've played longer? The lock-on seems not to be limited by camera FOV, so I guess it's not essential, but it's a little annoying having to do some finger gymnastics to hit the d-pad for camera movement with my right hand.
>I'm already considering swapping the d-pad mapping to the right analog; would this make sense to those of you who've played longer
of course. mapping the d-pad camera controls to the right analog is pretty much par for the course when emulating PSP games like type-0 or peacewalker.
>Technically Janus is the best
>no stats boost
>delay before and after using special melee
>can't absorb phantoma
>active effects are negligible magic defense only
>Janus mode is active mission only
>Kill Sight Status
Pretty much only useful when fighting a ground based bosses on missions as a one up.
Is this a full game based around Gardens from FF VIII?
The majority of the minibosses/bosses are grounded.
Also, are you really complaining about move delay when that applies to almost every special in the game?
Phantoma absorption is only really important for mages, melee characters only absorb phantoma when you're collecting items or an enemy decides to hover over something that you killed.
>Kill Sight Status
You know, that's only an issue if you're fighting against those super aggressive AIs.
It sounds more like you can't adapt to Janus with your play style than anything.
>move delay when that applies to almost every special in the game
When combined with Kill Sight status it is a problem.
Phantoma absorption is only really important for mages
Phantoma absorption is important for everyone because it's the only way you can level up your magics and get stat boost items.
>You know, that's only an issue if you're fighting against those super aggressive AIs
And guess what? Most higher level missions they're all and never staggers. Especially where it takes place in Sohryu.
Question, why does Kill Sight appear on enemies seemingly at random? Not the break sight, the one where they turn red and get 1 shot. Is it a debuff I'm giving them somehow? I think I've figured out some of it; Fury seems to always give Kill Sight status when it ends, but it happens in other situations too that I can't explain.
>its called hitting their break sight
Uh huh, while crowded by enemies and and multiple minibosses, having Kill Sight status and the fog weather playing it's part. Trust me, I like the Janus mode too but I would never use as something more than to have some fun with Queen. There are a lot better accessories for Queen than Janus glasses,
>while crowded by enemies and and multiple minibosses, and the fog weather playing it's part.
You do know that under those conditions, you can count the number of characters who can handle themselves on one hand right?
Some skills can give it out. If they do it's usually in the description. Queen and Trey at the top of my mind. Are we talking about random battles? Because it's completely possible for enemies to start out with that.
Someone that can use magic for example, which Janus Queen incapable of doing, or maybe not having instant death status. Just stop trying to make Janus Mode better than it really is anon.
>just got fire BOM2
HOLY SHIT, this skill is fucking fun as shit. SCORCHED EARTH NIGGER. Firaga that shit and the aoe size is huge and it lasts like 6-8 seconds. I can't wait to start clearing Impossibles and get shit like Meteor and Quake.
ULTIMA IS SPP ONLY, FUCK YOU GAME
White Serenade until you can afford to spam XPotions and no longer need heals from AI. WALL ON EVERYONE. WALL IS LOVE, WALL IS LIFE. Honestly, Deuce is almost better as an attacker later on than a support.
If you're talking about getting yourself out of that situation with magic, its highly likely that you're going for magic cancel and a lot of the cast have iffy magic cancel timings or don't get it until really late.
You could just nuke them with a Special Magic but that calls in things like cast time and mp cost.
Janus Mode is pretty solid, sure its not perfect but all you're doing is just bringing up situations that a large chunk of people can't handle assuming that we're talking about them in solo play and not team play.
After Cingue gathers Phantoma she reaches under her skirt and tugs her panties
>its highly likely that you're going for magic cancel
>You could just nuke them with a Special Magic
You really don't need to, just having magic alone is enough.
>all you're doing is just bringing up situations that a large chunk of people can't handle
Which they have to do anyway because it's in the game and Janus Mode sure won't help, so it's not 'technically the best' by any stretch of imaginations.
I can do it and I'm pretty shit at this kind of game, so a large chuck of people should be able to handle it.
I've been playing up to chapter 5 without it, seriously regretting it. It was just too much to keep track of, and the threat of dying was too real.
I can just do it all on my second playthrough fine right?
The Soryu Scenarios are bad for more than just Janus and that scenario with the hordes of minibosses in fog is something where the only people worth using are those with a good MP stat.
The only point that you proved is that Janus has trouble in common trouble points in the game.
She's still a good choice for grounded battles which are far more common and the battles against aerial enemies that actually come down to the ground.
>common trouble points
I seems to reckon you called it a 'situations that a large chunk of people can't handle'
>She's still a good choice for grounded battles
You don't need Janus for this.
>the battles against aerial enemies that actually come down to the ground
And you can kill them before that with ranged characters or magic. Like I said before Janus only good against ground based bosses as a one up.
If its Ace and King then sure. Cater's auto charge plays against her when you're on the wait for the enemy to come into range/break sight.
And yes, the Soryu stages are situations that play against the strengths of a lot of characters.
Janus is still far quicker at killing ground based bosses than most of the cast, so calling her just a one up is bad.
The kill sight thing also shouldn't be a problem if you're actually capable of dodging.
>If its Ace and King
And Trey, I noticed you only talking about Ace and King all this time.
>The kill sight thing also shouldn't be a problem if you're actually capable of dodging
Like I said before the Kill Sight is a problem because the special melee has a delay before and after usage. And you seems to be hell bent on avoiding the issue of Janus Queen incapability of using magic throughout this whole conversation.
>so calling her just a one up is bad
As was calling it technically the best.
>That feel when you save all the cadets in chapter 5
I should have leveled up Trey sooner, this entire mission seems to be MADE for him.
>there are people, right now, who don't play based King
I don't, but I would assume there are at the very least Eidolon upgrades. From what I understand you get good spells and gear and whatnot from doing the missions on hard mode and getting a good rank, possibly from S.Os as well.
Does anyone know how equipping both the Growth Egg and Mog's Amulet affect XP? First off does it stack? If so is it additive(6x XP) or is it multiplicative(8x XP)?
Question about Emina sub-events, here:
shows which gift can enable each scene. But the order matters? For example Scene 1 is Potted Plant but Corsi (only city with gifts atm) doesnt sell those.
So, Im stuck till I can find a plant or giving other gifts is good too?
They are actually putting effort into it.
That fucking ending man.
I came this close to crying when Rem and Machina walked in and saw Class Zero dead, all huddled together and holding hands.
It should look like this. If not, check in your documents folder.
New, tiny picture of Type-0 HD, from the Final Fantasy Agito campaign event to celebrate its announcement.
I'm really excited for the HD version. Type-0 deserved to have the big console budget in the first place and now the game might get the recognition it deserves. Isn't it getting redone in the Luminous engine or was that just a rumor?
Bahamut Zerosequence in HD
Here's the one for the Mog Amulet(And other SEmember stuff), IIRC a quest in chapter 7 allows you to get the growth egg is there a cheat for it as well?

I personally think they fit Crisis Core into the existing lore pretty well. They did it without any overt retcons... just sorta surgically implanted storyline into some of the empty spaces that were there already.
I kinda wish the story arc had focused more closely on Zack and Cloud than on Genesis and Angeal, I suppose.
I would also sorta dig a new FFVII spinoff set during Shinra's expansion campaign, when SOLDIER was out in full force. Maybe an Agito style game where you play as SOLDIERs from different batallions, with unique playstyles.
>all you get is a lousy item which gives you 0 mp cost for having it.
Is that the Proof of Agito I heard about?
>fuck you don't even get a special ending
Duh, after the alternate ending is the last entry in the Codex.
Wait I thought Proof of Agito should have;
>Obtained evidence about the things called Agito (Prevents Burn, Freeze, Shock, Silence, Poison, Stop, Death, and Kill Sight; negates all weather effect; grants Aura, Protect, 0 MP Cost, Trance, Quick, and Regen effect; increase all attributes defense by 50%; EXP x4; reduce intrusion time)
its weird because i achieved the same effect with a super ribbon and an sp crystal. so maybe it does but i don't notice
besides its disappointing it didn't add anything story-wise since they make it a big fucking deal about it.
does anyone know how to get haste on your characters?
I don't think there's any reason for them to use anything other than Luminous at this point. It's their "next gen" engine, and they used a special fork of it for FFXIV. Lightning Returns will probably be their last Crystal Tools game.
How good does my PC have to be to play this smoothly? I'm posting from an absolute toaster compaq presario here AMD dual core 2.1ghz CPU, ATI Radeon 3400 GPU. Also, when I last tried playing it on my desktop PC my game kept on blackscreening with repetitive sounds playing in the background forcing me to shut down, any fix for this?
Those Marlboro fights in this game were fun as hell.
Cinque's response was heartbreaking. At least they completed their mission.
Do it with break sign get the monster around him then kill them and explode them. About 3 time he will get angry and fly around. I nearly kill him but when nearly die his attack get too fast can't do shit
