Nobody can deny how attractive Mario is without his mustache. His lips are perfect. HE is perfect.

Adachi is the killer
>Completed OOT, FSA, WW, and TP
>Enjoyed them but find the mothership titles mostly forgettable
>Don't care for any other Zeldas
>WW was my favourite, didn't care for the main dungeons but loved exploring the islands in the endgame
>Also loved FSA for sectioned levels
I normally don't care for Zelda games but the idea of wandering around in BotW in a similar fashion to WW is intriguing. I prefer my Zelda in smaller, more digestible chunks. Would /v/ recommend it to me?
Well, if you like Zelda, give it a go. It's not for everyone, though. On that note, Wind Waker with BotW's scale would be an ideal game. They lacked the technology back then, but now I think it could be done.
>>384325604
You've only played pleb shit Zeldas. Play LTTP, OOT and MM because they're the only top tier Zeldas.
>>384327648
Didn't notice you said Oot already, but even then Majora's Mask and LTTP are the golden entries in terms of mechanics and gameplay.
We had a great BG thread earlier. What is it about this game that others try to replicate and fail? PoE and DAO are crap compared to it. I personally replay it at least once per year.
You know what's wrong with this game? The sharp dissonance between what you read and what you experience as a player.
They tell you that there is a rumor about a crypt of the ancient super powerful undead mage king, but nobody knows where it is and if it's actually true.
>uh yeah it's just in that church 100 meters away from town center.
They tell you that the evil cult is planning on bringing forth the void that shall consume the existence itself
>uh yeah their lair is in the nearby forest like 10 minutes walk from here mate
The allmighty powerful source witch-leader of this doomsday cult is creating the army of immortal super dread evil knights of doom in the ancient ruins
>uh yeah these ruins are just around the corner in the mines, just walk straight then turn right
>and try to stay away from these 3 doom knights of death by the way
There is absolutely no sense of scale or progress in this game, I've been playing for about 30 hours, my party is lvl 18 and fully equipped with crazy damage tenebrium weapons, I've killed the legendary troll king and looted his treasure, I've killed the legendary wizard's ghost and looted his laboratory, I've killed the lord of winter in elemental plane and I still feel like I'm barely done with the prologue and the story will pick up soon. It's like nothing I do creates any impact on anything and I'm just walking about dealing with side-quests in the tutorial area. But at the same time I've discovered the way to destroy immortal soldiers of the void, repelled the attack of void demons on my homestead way out in space, and the story is nearing its climax apparently.
Other than that I absolutely love it. Combat is 10/10, exploration is fun and rewarding with tiny locations packed with all kinds of shit. Variety of tools at player's disposal to deal with situations is very impressive and it's super fun to find some weird way to get behind a certain door or loot that heavily guarded chest.
What a weird game
Damn this post size limit
A tiny little detail can turn it upside down and make it a lot better - a world map. Just draw a gigantic map of the entire continent and force the player to use it to travel between locations and animate it to give the game a sense of journey. Even if it's implied in the text that you travel a lot, it still feels like you're playing in your own backyard and that sucks.
You know what I'm saying, /v/?
The story is an afterthought -- it's all about the combat and building your dudes to be as broken as possible.
>>384325554
>Combat is 10/10
It's really not, it's pretty mediocre and there's hardly any strategy involved at all.
Enemies not resistant to fire? Set everything on fire. Enemies resistant to fire? Rain, and keep it coming.
How would Smash Wii U/3DS' newcomers fit into Subspace Emissary if it followed the same basic plot?
>>384325264
Same as the other minor characters. They'd just sort of be there and would end up getting involved with a character with an actual reason to be there. Basically sidekicks like Yoshi, Pikachu, or Olimar.
>>384325264
Are we leaving DLC characters like Ryu and Mewtwo out of this?
