K-dramas that stretch for seasons and seasons. And then by the end, many will have the tweests upon tweests of angst.
I personally think it's better this way unless if it's FF-tier. Kind of refreshing compared to Japanese ones.

Well, my theory is that there's multiple factors.

1. the author read a lot of webtoons and they all have this long-drawn out story so they think that it's the norm.
2. more episodes = more payment for chapters (evil)and potentially more story to explore(probaly just this)
3. the author haven't made a lot of manga and / or story so is a bit awkward with pacing.
4. since the comic is fully coloured and shaded, it takes a long time to make a long comic per episode so big events are broken up into many different parts.

Japanese manga fits a lot of action and story into single pages so it flows much faster than webtoon which can be literally 'long', therefore making webtoon progress much slower than manga.

I mean, look at k-dramas, look at the most popular webtoons (tower of god, etc), they are all long.

fundamentally, japanese manga / drama is very fantasy orientated, where things just work out perfectly with only major points and no fuss in between, ending on a perfect note.
Korean manga / drama is very reality orientated, where there's always backstabbings, twists, 'sudden hospitalization', 'hidden pasts, and 'unclear endings'.

Since my updates are random and sporadic, I thought I would set up a proper schedule of uploading 'blackbox' translations so that anons can know when a new chapter could come out.
I will also try to upload more than 1 chapter per time depending on the progress of translation, because I'll never catch up with the normal webcomic upload rate if I just upload 1 per week.

Actually, I've looked into that, and it seems that you can still use mastercard to pay for coins (peanuts in that site). Which means that you don't need to have korean social number or korean creditcard to pay.

oh, bad luck...
iOS accounts are totally different to Windows and Android accounts, so it's locked between the two. You can't use the coins from one account to another.

You can only buy / view stuff you got on iPad on apple devices, while android and windows accounts you can view it anywhere since it's just a browser.

It should have given you a better warning, but bad luck. just watch it on your ipad and be careful next time.

Thanks for the notice! Definitely savoured the yuri well in chapter 14 and chapter 21 - 24 makes more sense now. Before, I actually thought the MC was coupled with Hannah.

There's only one chapter yuri now but the yuri is good with the decent storytelling and art so I'm definitely looking forward to the rest that are coming. Hopefully it won't be too long!

First of all, I will translate "Miss Angel and Miss Devil", "Between Summer and Fall" and "My Love is a Gangster!?" Series and I will upload a chapter for each of them every week or so.

2nd, although I am already in a process of recruitment, I joined a scanlation group as a korean translator, but I'd like your opinion. I'll still keep my anonymity and will be able to translate lezhin stuff undercover... but is this a good idea? Should i just do translation as whitebox for you all?

Right it looks like you're having fun translating, going at your own pace, and making your own terms. I feel like joining a team will make this feel more like a job/obligation and add pressure to you. The whitebox translations you've been doing are perfect for me (and I imagine others too). If another anon or group wants to take your rough typesets and QC/clean it up, they can do it at their own discretion (after consulting you, if you care).

Do what makes you most comfortable. What you're currently outputting is more than sufficient and your speed of output is a godsend (your fast rough translations sometimes are even better than other "clean/QC'd" typesets out there).

Usually a long term series have so many fans and readers making comments that a thread gets filled with talk of that one particular series. Then that series would deserve a solo thread all about it.

"Between Summer and Fall" is actually short (18 chapters), and it's not a epic drama story like "Love Doctor" and "What Does the Fox Say?", so I doubt it will be important enough to warrant a solo thread.

Plus it has actually concluded, so it would mean that there won't be people spamming 'is it out yet? raw pls? trans pls?' because by the time I'm done, the whole series will be out on this thread.

It's the same for "My Love is a Gangster!?", it ends in 29 episodes and won't have any continuation.

What I'm aiming for is to finish "Summer&Fall" and "Love is Gangster!?" completely so that I can work on Miss Angel and Devil on a steady schedule that could match with the release schedule. It already has a lot of fans, so it would probably warrant a solo thread in the future.

But I don't mind. They can even credit themselves for it if they want to. laissez-faire. I can always just point out that I was the original editor of the comic if they start arguing to me.

I enjoy the fact that more people are able to read and enjoy the comic, and not bitch about copyrights and whether you need permission to share it or not.

Unlike Lezhin, they employ a different system of payment, where upto 10 latest chapters are locked by requirement to pay, but after a set amount of time, becomes unlocked and free for view, even if you did pay or not.

So for fans who are desperate to read the next chapter can buy to read them, while normal people can just wait until they are free.

Currently, I do not see any hints that Foxtoon is going to release an English version of this comic, or have strong indication that they are protective about their copyrighted content.

It means that while Lezhin comics were illegal since we were uploading content that requires payment, if we just follow the 'free episodes' schedule for Foxtoon, it's not as bad, since it's designated to be free and read for everyone.

If Foxtoon representative does come out and demand for it to be taken down, then fair, but right now it's quite okay, really.
