I really don't agree. I think most of it was in Aya's head and they just needed more time to adjust. You see that around the end of the route when Aya starts bonding more with her birth mother, and their father complimented Aya's cooking and could even relate to having been poor a part of his life. They've been apart for years and had only been living together for a few months at the start of the game. Heck, Aya didn't even know they existed until those few months before the start of the game. I think it also kind of killed the twincest angle because of them growing up as strangers.

I still prefer playing the VNs on a PC (better resolution), but playing them on a DS is pretty neat. Note that for some reason there isn't any background music or the CGs. The choices and the voices are still intact though. Pretty cool.

I've got a technical issue with New Gene and trying to google the problem was no help at all. Maybe one of you have heard of something similar and could help me out. It's killing the game for me unfortunately.

Basically when I try to trigger dialogue - either by left clicking or putting it in auto mode - there's some 'stuttering'. The first second or so of each line is repeated/looped 3-4 times. Then the rest of the line is read normally, with no further issues. It doesn't happen on each line, and it's seemingly random - I tried loading the same save a couple of times to confirm it.

Can't say I have any idea what to do. Updating audio drivers is probably the first thing I should've done but for the time being it's not really possible for ~reasons~ and my gut feelings tells me it won't help anyway.

It's not a powerful machine but I don't think it's toaster enough to have trouble with SonoHana. i3 2310M, GT 540M, 4GB RAM (no longer sure if DDR2 or 3, I think the latter).
Looking at task manager while playing SonoHana tells me it doesn't put any considerable load on memory or CPU, and there's no CPU spiking/throttling during the voice playback so I think it's something else.
