You know the drill folks. Everything DC, Marvel, Indie related belongs here
I'm really salty with the fact that valentine left catwoman run.
Thank you. Harley scored a few women in her run, didn't she?
Man, DC really didn't think this whole reboot through did they?
Marvel's looks better in comparision and even that's of debateable quality.
Reminds me, are Rodey and Carol still an item post timeskip?
I only know Jess is preggers.
Huh. I kinda like that they are actually using the fact that Gwen died in the main verse to shape Spider-Gwen's character a bit.
Too bad that Harry becomes the Green Goblin because he also thinks that Spider-Gwen is the one that killed Peter. Oh boy.
That depends on the writer tho. The notion of that os that the writer could write a story "in-canon" without worrying about others books canons. Like how in Justice League Bruce is still Batman while in the Bat-line Gordon is Batman, or a bunch of other books "in-continuity" that couldn't have happened if continuity mattered
>Reminds me, are Rodey and Carol still an item post timeskip?
Hasn't been said, I don't think Rhodey's been mentioned at all in ANAD yet.
You'd think it would be mentioned in Ms. Marvel seeing as Carol and Kamala hang out.
I'm curious as who the father of Jess's kid is though. She herself doesn't really seem thrilled at all.
Greg Rucka's Batwoman is probably the highest profile comic with a lesbian lead. Lesbians are mostly found in team books, the Ultimates and New Avengers both have a lesbian each, but they are almost never the focus.
I really can't think of any that is ongoing at the moment with a lesbian lead. I could be wrong.
There was Batwoman. There was also Fearless Defenders, but that one had a short run due to sales. I haven't read it so I can't really say anything about it's quality.
Many years ago, due to people being worried about Batman and Robin being perceived as gay, DC made Batwoman and Batgirl as counterparts to Batman and Robin respectively. Batwoman disappeared from the comics eventually, but was brought back a few years back as a lesbian socialite which is kinda funny because she was made to stop gay rumors.
Oh, yeah, Catwoman also had a really good recent run and in it she is bi and has a female love interest.
I'm still salty that they never paired Nico and Karolina together... and that most artists fail to make Karolina's aura badass.
I'm so glad I stopped reading after the first run. Pic related.
In my headcanon they all just went on lesbianic adventures together, living gayly ever after.
Spoken like a true pleb.
It was pretty hit or miss after that. I personally enjoyed it... save for not pairing Nico and Karolina up naturally.
There was also Klara I liked pairing her up with Molly.
It was adorable how devoted Klara was to Molly after all.
The ending isn't quite what I had hoped for but beggars can't be choosers.
Speaking of that bizarre pairing . . .
The shit I found looking for comic book art
I dunno where to find the rest of this comic
Recently grabbed what I believe to be all the current issues of Starfire's ongoing. I don't have too much hope since Grayson is on the cover of the current one but still fingers crossed. Also grabbed Harley's comic since I heard so much about it.
If Star's comic gives me even a little fuel for shipping I'll be happy.
Starfires book is what the Harley Quinn book should have been, and I am saying that as a Harleyfan. The book is full of beautiful art and some nice moments, you won't get dissapointed. Harley book is bad to mediocre. Don't get to carry away with the Grayson issues, to my opinion the Grayson issues are okay doesn't go too far from the main story
>Using their terrible new designs
this to be honest. I liked it more when Harley was a blonde with lots of make up.
Her Suicide Squad the movie design is so much better than the present comics.
wow this person has some hella cute art on their blog
>Her Suicide Squad the movie design is so much better than the present comics.
Shit + Shit = Shit
Now this costume is better. I little sexy without leaving the iconess of the classic outfit
>Now this costume is better.
maybe if you are into weird clown porn
Her classic costume is only a bit better than her current design. Its only redeeming quality was that she could actually take it off.
Perhaps if you see it in a different light?
sorry Anon. But like I said it's still better than her current design. At least she wasn't permamently bleached.
Tbf most superhero costumes look stupid when you think about it.
Plus I hate clowns.
Different anon but I don't mind the bleached look it's her ridiculously skimpy outfits that bother me. In the case of Harley I always felt more was less with her outfits.
I also in general don't like the art featured in her comics that much.
Also ahaha, what is that picture she drew supposed to be
it looks like porn
Anon it is porn. Of Ivy fucking Harley presumably with a strap on.
Also that feel when a comic shop still has figurines of Harley and Ivy from the 90's cartoon. Feels good man.
Bonus page. Because Timm is love, Timm is life
>Also that feel when a comic shop still has figurines of Harley and Ivy from the 90's cartoon. Feels good man.
Damn I want two
Shit those comics based on animated series are so adorable.
by 'them' you mean Batgirl and Supegirl?
Because Harley and Ivy are really super fucking gay in the current comics.
Also damn, Ivy loves Harley so much no matter what universe, it's almost sad.
Joker - Last Laugh
Skipping 4 pages of the issue
Would skipp the non Ivy/Harley ones too but I considered against it.
Spoilered them instead
Y'know. Now that you've done you, you could consider this a /u/ based issue. Interesting
I remember reading that Cuck Dixon (the writer) said to the artist "Remember don't go full homo" and the artist said "What full homo. You got it" and we got this
It funny, really. Dixon tried his damnest to make BoP not so homoerotic but it came out pretty homorerotic, but when Simone wrote the book it was the tamest thing that I have ever read
Wow it is surprisingly easy for me to ignore all the het make outs when Starfire is skinny dipping in front of Atlee all splayed out on a beach chair in a skimpy bikini and drinking wine from the bottle.
What series is this anyway?
Come to think of it wasn't she also supposedly pregnant in Arkham games. And the upcoming movie I heard she is supposed to be in a love triangle which I'm guessing will be between Joker and Deadshot because that's who she is hooking up with in SS comics and Ivy isn't even in the movie as far as I can tell.
In comics she eventually ditches them both and goes to live with Ivy but it's very doubtful the movie will go anywhere near that development.
This sucks. The Harley comics have always been full of subtext and text but except the animated series it doesn't translate to other media.
Maybe if they did a TV show...
Looking back on this pic I could just see Starfire quietly and nonchalantly slipping her hand into Terra's unbuttoned shorts.
Can't get enough of these two desu
Hell yeah I ship this so much
the Batgirls that are not Barbara are so underappreciated.
Speaking about Suicide Squad they released a new trailer today.
It seems Harley's origin story will be based on current continuity in comics.
And it appears Joker will be the villain of the movie?
I just hope the movie ends with her beating the crap out of Joker's trash ass
Okay so this new Batman err people, IDK this movie has all of the Bat(man/woman/girl/etc all in one movie). And came to a scene where Kate/Batwoman was talking to her dad. Her dad said something like "I'd thought you'd meet some nice girl by now." So what the fuck does this mean?
>what the fuck does this mean?
That he thought she'd find a nice girl by now?
Looks like Bad Blood but that definitely doesn't have all batmen/girls in one movie.
I'd kill for an animated movie with Steph, Cass, Barbara and Kate all in one movie though.
They met and hugged once. And now Steph is hanging out with Babs and hasn't really talked to Cass. I'm really hoping they bring back their friendship, because they had a nice dynamic.
I like them too, but the writers seem to ship both of them with Tim.
>regarding suicide squad
Both Joker and Batman appear as more like secondary characters, Batman might be the actual antagonist in this one being as he is.
It'll play out similar to the animated Suicide squad movie, and if it does, prepare for Harely getting BLACKED.
Is Harley really expecting anybody to take her serious when she spends 75% of her time being a brainless idiot. And degenerates into a bimbo everytime they need to make Mr. J cooler
Its Ivy. If someone should take Harley a little-little bit serious should be her
There is a suicide squad animated movie?
Whatever, this movie is a different universe.
But Harley actually is really intelligent. Her acting like an idiot is just an act and it's touched upon many times.
Even pre the newest reboot where she was still hung up on Mistah J, she was characterized as a master manipulator.
Anyway that Ivy series, looks great, i want to get it.
And Harley is so cute.
She looks cute in about anything that isn't her own series.
>I like them too, but the writers seem to ship both of them with Tim.
I thought it was only Steph they shipped him with. Cass would be a new one, though I guess it could make sense in a way.
It's funny that the first thing she does the day after is checking if Harley called
She is interesting yeah. But for most of her time she was lusting after Batman's D, even Kevin Smith wrote about it in a sort of mocking way. It just that this time around she is in denial about her and Harley
>lusting after Batman's D
I don't think she was lusting after Batman's D because she actually liked him. She just uses sex appeal and sex to control and get what she wants from people. Otherwise she hates most humans, men especially. In most continuities, not only the newest one, it's established that Harley is the only person she genuinely cares about and that's why she actually won't mind control her.
That why I wrote "was", for the most part she was crazy about Batman, and how he will be hers alone. It just since 90's and little early 00 her character changed to lust for Batman's D to lust for Harley's V, nothing else
But that...doesn't seem like lusting after D to me.
More like an obsession with winning over someone who keeps beating you.
And it's nothing like with Harley, with her it's not an object to conquer but someone she actually loves that she wishes would lover her back without all the stockholm syndrome caused by Joker.
Speaking about history the ending of Gotham City Sirens is fucking heart wrenching
And then the next issue is from Ivy's perpesctive and fuck. Look at that internal monologue. She is so in love.
I don't know who is more delusional, Harley about Joker giving a shit about her or Ivy about Harley getting over Joker.
It always cracks me up when people are like "what a beautiful FRIENDSHIP they have :)"
she was supposed to be making progress with curing herself out of him but then the whole ending of GCS was about how Ivy wants to help Harley with that
with her loveand then in Convergence she lives with some random guy and Ivy is like "yeah lmao"
The best part is even Selina is confused about that bullshit.
Was Tim portrayed as anything more than a emotional brainy kid?
Because his usual characterization is a genius brain in a jar connected to what amounts to a fleshy dildo. Basically, a harem protagonist with two character traits rather than one.
>Ra's al Ghul('s daughters)
speaking about which, I heard one of them is gay in Arrow TV show and in lesbians with White Canary.
Who also stars in a new DC TV show that just started airing this month (Legends of Tomorrow) and lusts after some 50s housewife (or something)
Also this is all I read while browsing news sites so I'm not sure if Im very far off or not.
I was going to check both series at some point anyway.
I'm so hoping for a TV series about Harley's gay adventures though.
The way DC treats her recently there might be a chance for that eventually.
So I was reading this Marvel parody and I got to wonder, who applies this more, Harley & Ivy or Jess & Carol?
For Carol herself? Only subtext, mostly with Spider-Woman. There are a few lesbians in the supporting cast, though.
Depends. Bruce Timm and Paul Dini, Ivy and Harley were always kinda on the cusp of over friendly. Of course with some adult comedy to keep fans guessing. But Clermont Avengers made Carol and Jess all but fuck buddies. Do in terms of classic characterization it goes to Carol and Jess. But viewer iteration is Ivy and Harl by a landslide.
I think originally Ivy was a mother figure to Harley but over the course of some years she actually grew to love her romantically. Not her fault. Harley outside of her costume persona can be very cute, fun, and scary smart when she isn't acting dumb. Ivy basically sees all great parts and the potential of what Harley could become. In a sense she is the Harley to Harley's Joker.
I dunno. I most continuities Harleen turns into Harley when Pamela has been Ivy for years. One has to look into Mad Love to see that Harleen first residence at Arkham was in a time when Ivy was already a thing
Maybe I just suck at google, but I can't find any news or information about what DC's current plans are for Batwoman.
I know she's in Bombshells, which is all well and good, but I want her to be in more things.
I get the feeling quite a few people like the character, DC included, and that it's a character they want to use, but they don't really know what to do with her ever since her ongoing got cancelled.
Well there's some sort of relaunch coming on, I guess. So a Batwoman book could be in the plans
Dunno I always assumed they are similiar age.
In Batman Animated Series at least Ivy is 28 years old and Harley is introduced not long after (and IIRC it's the first media she ever appears).
Don't remind me about this.
I really hope they are not doing ANOTHER reboot just 4 years after the last one.
This is ridiculous, the DC universe it's way too convulted as is.
Well, I'll cross my fingers hoping there'll be another Batwoman #1, then.
I think it's just a marketing thing where "X happens and there's a shake-up and suddenly we have another line of comic books starting with #1-issues, because those sell more"
It's just a pit stop where they can boost some sales and perhaps get more new people into comics. These shake-ups happen every now and then, and they sort of have to.
At least that's what I think it is.
It just a relacun, not full-on reboot. Some title are going to get new writers, some characters are going to enter a new arc. For example Grayson already had a creative change , the same with the Superman titles, and Tom King & Tim Seeley are already hinting up to something big happening to Dick Grayson
Maybe we're talking over eachother, but what I meant to say is that I don't think it's an actual reboot. I just think it's an in-universe shake-up that just means some comics start over with a new number. Just because those bring in more sales, as well as new customers.
So I don't think it'll be a whole new universe reboot. It sounds just like a reshuffling of their current line-up.
(and hopefully more Batwoman, if my dreams can come true)
