I stopped watching this show after episode 10 since there were other things on TV on Sundays at that point. The only way I would even bother watching the rest would be Cooper returning but it sounds like that didn't happen and likely never will. Even if it did, we get three measly fucking episodes of him or less? Might as well not even bother as it would be a joke at this point.

For me, Twin Peaks is as good as dead. This is the last post I'll make in this thread out of respect for people who do watch the show and don't want to see arguments in here.

Think about it. BOB is a spirit that can possess people. We saw Leland acting weird, sadistic and then occasionally regressing back to old loving dad on many occasions before the Hospital murder. In Fire Walk With Me he does a complete 180 in personality like this.

Leland told Harry before his death that BOB would threaten him by telling him that he would kill his daughter if he didn't deliver her to BOB for possession. That implies BOB gave Leland a measure of free will.

When Leland murdered Jaq, Dr. Jacoby smelled burnt engine oil. That marked the point where Leland got his white hair and started acting irrationally. We never saw the real Leland again until BOB beat his skull into pulp in the interrogation room.

Compare Leland before the murder of Jaq and after. It's jarring.

We know BOB feeds on pain and misery (Garmonbozia). What better way to torture Leland's spirit than by having Leland present in mind and conscious during the murder of his daughter and niece. He was watching himself kill them both and he couldn't do anything about it.

I'm probably wrong, but this is what makes the most sense to me. I just can't imagine BOB using Leland to fake kindness, making jokes or crying and breaking down.

my interpretation is that mike wanted the garmonbozia sooner rather than later. if BOB had possessed laura, he'd have been able to reap creamed corn consistently for a long time because a pretty young woman can get away with a lot more than a middle aged man. but if he killed her, the consequential torrent of pain and suffering, and the ripple effects creating even more of that, would pour from the town itself like an instant buffet.

MIKE was impatient because BOB had stolen the garmonbozia beforehand, probably leaving the other lodge spirits hungry. he wanted it now rather than eventually so he fucked BOB over, thus the laughing

i don't think MIKE has been or ever will be a force of good. even his motivation in the return is questionable, he could be helping dougie/cooper just to get BOB back or booper returned for some natural order kind of thing. either way i think he's indifferent to the lives of people beyond creating more suffering

A mix. There are probably times where it's just leland or just bob, but it's hard to say when those might be, and I imagine the lines got more and more blurred over the years. FWWM really seems to drive home the fact that the line between BOB and leland is really blurred, especially with some of the stuff that went down with teresa banks. I've always found "I always thought you knew it was me" to the the most horrifying line in the movie, when leland says it to laura at the end.

She found out that leland was bob, that he was the one raping her, but he (leland) always thought she knew. So it's almost like, he thought it was their dirty little secret or something. The implications are awful
