How many years into Chibnall's run will people start going "WTF I MISS MOFFAT NOW"? I remember Series 7 was around the time all the complaints about Rose and RTD's finales started to dissipate and people actually admitted to missing Davies.

I think it's an inevitable part of Doctor Who. As long as it keeps running for years and years, under different showrunners, there will always be a moment where people will regard previous "era's" in a better way than they regarded them as they were airing.

>/who/ presents:
DOCTOR WHO: SHIT TRIPS Vol. 2
- The Anthology -

>Are you a true fan of Doctor Who?
>Have you ever written down a sequence of words?

If the answer is yes or no, then you are ready to contribute a literary masterpiece to the second /who/ collection of original Doctor Who-based short fiction.

/who/ did it once. Now, we're gonna do it again! Yet another entry in an age-old tradition of p̶a̶c̶k̶a̶g̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶f̶a̶n̶f̶i̶c̶s̶ ̶t̶o̶g̶e̶t̶h̶e̶r̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶g̶i̶v̶e̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶m̶ ̶a̶n̶ ̶a̶i̶r̶ ̶o̶f̶ ̶l̶e̶g̶i̶t̶i̶m̶a̶c̶y̶ / celebrating the magic of Who and the talent of a community.

There are no limits (except the story must be at least 1 word long, and preferably not in excess of 10,000, it's short fiction you fuck).

>- Can involve any Doctor(s), companion(s), side characters, spinoff characters and beyond, as your heart desires
>- Can be in any style, whether it's "legitimate writing", "pisstake", or "shitpost".
>- Can be about absolutely anything
>- The main focus is on good fun in the vein of the wiki, although serious entries are allowed. (If you're going to write smut, maybe approach it with a degree of levity)

Stuck for ideas? Try starting with your favourite TARDIS team (or for timeliness, Whittaker 13th Doctor) and one of these authentic titles:
http://www.saberpunk.net/DoctorWho/DoctorWhoSerialGenerator.php
https://glyphobet.net/drwho

We are going to be starting an index on the wiki for the collection. Anyone can contribute, no signups/pitches required. If you have ideas, feel free to broadcast them.
The rest is self-explanatory. Format for uploading your work is up to you, as long as it can be conveniently copied across (and ideally don't spam long texts in /who/ directly). (Pastebin works well.)

BONUS: Anyone who wants to do cover art or "illustrations" is encouraged.

WE NEED MORE ENTRIES.

The due date is August 3rd to send in your ideas and/or stories.

>>
>>85144499
I think it's logical. People tend to focus on the bad parts of the show they're watching, and look back fondly on the better parts of the show when it was run differently. I miss RTD's camp adventures and subtle hints at the finale (Bad Wolf, Saxon, bees) and think Moffat's attempts at those subtle hints were worse (Crack, Missy appearing at the end of almost every episode, Vault).

I think in time I will miss Moffat's "timey wimey" storylines. He relied on it was too much but I think in a couple of years I'll miss that particular trope (assuming Chibnall doesn't use it).
>>
>>85144367
Series is 6 godawful and a real letdown after the only great series of Moffat's run, Series 5. The Doctor's Wife and The God Complex are the only great eps, the Silence and Flesh two parters are okay. The rest is mindless crap.

This desu. While Cybusmen are the worst Cybermen, Closing Time is a good enough Cyberman episode. Even the 'power of love' ending, while dumb, had more place in an episode about Cybermen than most.

I also just rewatched Age of Steel two parter for the first time since it aired and was surprised by how good it was. Again, Cybusmen are my least favouite Cybermen, but the plot was perfectly fine and it was character kino for Pete and Mickey.

C'mon they can do so much there, they've got like three distinct timeframes, Post-Age of Steel, Post-Doomsday, and Post-Journey's End. They can breathe life to the old Rose Tyler: Earth Defender concept as well as make a new Cyberman series.

I just finished the second story of Trial of a Time Lord, Mindwarp.

Man, what a shocking twist, and what an intriguing tale. II already know some aspects of what is coming up, due to it being "lore" at this point, and discussed endlessly, but Mindwarp still managed to shock and entertain me.

Out of curiosity, do you guys think there'll be scenes where the doctor struggles with physical changes of going from usually a 6ft man to a 5'5 woman.

Obviously I'm not talking about periods and shit, but just physical scenes where she's fighting or gripping something. Sorry for being autistic but just interested if they'll consider it during the first series with her .

The Doctor's soul is placed inside a Dalek and she needs to figure out how to retrieve her body. But her body is hidden in a society that's wary of Daleks, and the actual Daleks are nearby, so she has to figure out how to lay low from one alien race while trying to make nice with another.

No it doesn't. It has the Doctor using a phone and virus to outsmart the enemy. Then it has the Doctor introduce himself to the audience vicariously through a scolding of an enemy, since the episode is intended to be a soft reboot, and they want to affirm the notion that Matt Smith is the Doctor - hence why it happens with him putting on his new outfit and literally stepping through a hologram of 11's face. It's a sci-fi show, and it features technology far beyond what our present day has. The Doctor literally describes the virus as "alive" which clearly proves it isn't following the rules of your standard virus. The virus isn't even the point of focus, and the reasoning is solid for the rest of it; The word zero is spread over international communications, alerting the people scouring the earth to find Prisoner Zero, and then traced back to the initial source of the message to find the location of them - a solid way of defeating the monster while not being an asspull. Then, the Doctor uses a phone containing images of all of Prisoner Zero's forms to out him even while in disguise, another well thought out way of taking the enemy down while playing within the established story of the episode. Finally he then uses Amy's memory of Prisoner Zero and the handicap of Prisoner Zero being limited by what the comatose host is dreaming of (established earlier by the man and his dog and the woman and her children) to get Prisoner Zero to imitate himself perfectly.

I know you mean 10, but yeah that was a brilliant moment. Hologram of every Doctor, then a sad and solemn looking Tennant and 11 just walks through it and announces that he is The Doctor.
Eleventh Hour was brilliant. I can only hope Chibnall manages to create such a great moment in 13's first episode.

Tbh I really don't like the way this episode is directed. Because the story isn't really any darker than the other Christmas specials, and in fact the story is a lot more fun and charming, with the whole "Santa saves the day" stuff happening - but the episode is shot in really dark areas and has a washed out color palette. So really, the episode is literally darker than the other Christmas specials, but it's just as happy and light-hearted in terms of script. So you just have this weird discrepancy in tone.

It's a very radically changing AU.

The Doctor is constantly on the run because of his invention, the TARDIS Engine, which allows time travel. It also has the side effect of making the Doctor unable to die, due to prolonged exposure. The Doctor runs because he feels that much power shouldn't be used for evil.

Chasing him is the Davros group, his former benefactors, who wish to use the TARDIS Engine to essentially take over the world: making themselves immortal, weaponizing the engine, selling it to the highest bidder etc.

No. The first ten minutes of the episode consist of some dumb but easily resolved standard Who plot, during the entirety of which Jodie flirts aggressively with the twink companion. Once this is solved with there's five minutes of her molesting him despite his protests, followed by a solid twenty minutes of visceral, brutal rape. The last ten minutes is her comforting and grooming him in order to reduce any future resistance.
