There were also some vague ideas about BOB and Mike being from a planet made of creamed corn, something about Truman driving Mike backwards through the portal into the Black Lodge (which I think would have been a really nice cinematic scene).

To be fair, Lynch seems like the guy to be easily burnt out if something doesn't go his way. I think this is partially why he makes so few movies.

Also, I think it's clear he loves the world of Twin Peaks. Why else would he take the time to edit together all of the Missing Pieces scenes to make it a "feature," or go through the trouble of staging that goofy fake "where are they now?" interview with the Palmer family if he didn't have a deep love of the world or its characters?

People often seem to project their own jaded personalities and edginess on to Lynch which I think is often unwarranted.

Introducing two new, pointless, love interests did nothing for the narrative and it made Audrey's entire character arc for the 2nd half of S2 be completely worthless. I'd also argue that Cooper's sudden infatuation with Annie was out of character compared to how he acted before, and particularly if you consider that he knew Windom was in the area, was watching him, and was looking for revenge.

It's going to be a wild ride. A few episodes have been the equivalent of time wasted, but the show is good again.

I am not sure how many care, but this has been my personal estimation of the episodes so far. I am probably more forgiving of some of the s2 subplots that others (the nadine stuff is funny to me, and it's not on screen for too long at any point). There were some truly bad episodes - the Diane Keaton one (aka James: the Episode) was really rough to watch.

So electricity in Twin Peaks is a conduit between two worlds. Is there a separate power in what is referred to as "magic?" Cooper realizes who the killer is when lightning flashes, and he referred to this as "magic" - some technique that was distinct from his "dream science" stuff. (Early in the series he says how dreams are a firing of electrical impulses, leading me to connect it to electricity rather than "magic.")
