Prophecy—i.e. revelation—is the certain knowledge of something, that God reveals to man. What happened to the lightness of the series and its humor. The love theme is also completely gone. If that is how Frost and Lynch always wanted Twin Peaks to be then you can be thankful that ABC constrained them even if that meant that it had to stop airing after two seasons. If the series looked like that from the beginning it would have died after the pilot. Now Cooper is some kind of vegetable and half the show consists of these fever dream scenes that could be from a Tumblrina art student who wants to show the world how deep she is. On top of that of that you have this exaggerated display of violence in every episode now as a cheap way to make everything look even more serious while it's just infantile. Some things just better stay dead.

Maybe, but it seems unlikely to me. We saw the Bob orb, and him turning into an egg that hatches into a chimera and so on seems like a lot of steps, espeically given his transferal in the past never had anything to do with these steps (that we've seen so far).

Episode ten is titled "Laura is the one," and it can be argued that her role in life was to die so as to stop Bob. It's a bit on the nose when it comes to Messiah metaphors though. The orb we saw might have been her soul, or her potential to exist, or it might have just been goodness, with Laura being a representative of that.

It's an insane origin story that is beautiful and perfect. The show has always been concerned with ideas of evil versus good and now we see that has literally always been true in the show.
