it's just because 12's run has been super bland compared to 11's. Say what you will about Series 5-7 but the story arc with the Silence and all the Moffucking in between at least kept it interesting and engaging. After Series 5 being the GOAT, the rest of 11's run was either incredible or shit, no in between. Save for a few amazing episodes (Listen, Mummy, Flatline, Heaven Sent, etc) and some shit episodes, 12's run has mostly just been consistently fine, and I think that's why it all blends together.

The farther down the ship you went the faster time passed relative to the top hence why If you sent a crew down there like in the ep they would never come up since the time dilation ratio is crazy (like 2 days elapsed in the top level was ~1000 years down at the bottom from what I calculated). It was real disappointing to see Smith's era take a nose dive like it did. It went from the best of nuwho to the absolute worst of nuwho -- a real fucking accomplishment of Moffat's part.
