yeah we never met any of the Moffat Companion's families. Clara a little, but hardly. I liked how in the first two seasons we met Rose's family, they where actual real fleshed out characters. Martha's senpai where a little one dimensional by comparison but they only had one season, plus there where a lot more of them. Donna's family where more comparable to Rose's in the sense that they felt like real people. Rose, Martha and Donna clearly had lives outside of the Tardis. Amy and Clara didn't have much of that at all.

This is what has me excited. Maybe I'm just being optimistic but the rumors about Chibnall making the whole series into one series-long storyline a la Broadchurch sounds promising.

I don't know about equally. Shit in different ways. I found that at least RTD's shit was kind of enjoyable. Journey's end for example is a flawed as fuck episode and written very poorly, but it was pretty fun seeing all the 10th Doctor's friends team up to take on the Daleks. Moffat's shit is preachy garbage, stupidly convoluted plots just for the sake of being convoluted and he puts the focus of the episode on his terrible side characters way too much. See the entire Clara arc. The killed her off, everyone cheered, she's out the way. Great! let's see the great return of Galifrey! This episode had a LOT to deliver and it failed at everything. The focus was Clara even though she already died like 5 times just get on with it already we had your last hurrah a few episodes ago. To top it all off the episode felt preachy and the Doctor acted completely out of character, significantly reducing the life of a fellow timelord just to escape.

To me that last episode of Season 9 was insulting and it was the nail in the coffin and the reason I consider Moffat's crap slightly worse then RTD

I didn't really anticipate anybody being too dense to work it out from the context when listing Moffat's episodes, considering the post was made in reply to somebody who said that Moffat's episodes were the "only" good episodes of RTD's run.

Anyway, if you go back and rewatch Moffat's early RTD stuff, you'll realise thT they're just shitty prototypes for his botched story arcs. Girl who has a relationship with The Doctor that's butchered by time travel? Someone who becomes a mindless, adoring, self-sacrificing devotee? Is that Reinette, or River? And what about the quirky, kooky, quippy, stunning 20-something who falls in love with a lame, sad-sack dweeb? Amy? Or Sally? Or Clara?

Just saw Eaters of Light, pretty solid first act, pretty good third, satisfying final one. Overral it's one of the best episodes of the season, and even then it's a 7 at best.

I just wanna point out that behind the scenes there was this super interesting plot going on with Missy's rehabilitation, and all of it got sidetracked to a couple of minutes.
Gomez's acting in the end makes me desperately wish that this was covered more. Imagine if instead of some crappy 3-part monk story that doesn't do shit we had something regarding Missy's turning into the light side.
Maybe Moff wanted to have her at the vault for surprise value because he's a hack

It's so far back and doesn't matter so much that it's representation for the sake of being representation. It's a joke shoehorned into scenes that just needed a joke. It's people's sexuality made into a 2 dimensional characteristic that doesn't actually matter beyond becoming a one liner. It is literally a meme in the scope of a show like Doctor Who.

Bill and Razor leave the hospital and walk along a bleak, grey, foggy street in the city/spaceship with a steel ceiling instead of a sky.

I know after this there is a scene where Razor takes Bill to the operating theatre. Then Bill and Razor watch the operating theatre being locked up. Razor has a burgling mask in this scene which makes me wonder if the Master's big reveal will merely be John Simm taking of the burglar mask rather than peeling off the prosthetics, but I don't know.

1. It reintroduced Susan with the actress in a story that finally took place after the dalek invasion of earth

2.it took away lucie, and suddenly everyone who hated lucie because she wasn't charley were like "NO WAIT! Fuck! I'll take her back now!"

3.briggs runaround episode was a run around with consequences(which isn't something he can normally do), so it actually worked

4.GOAT ice warriors episode.

5.it brought back the dalek time controller, which you knew about if you followed charley

6.they had a focused arc villain in the meddling monk(only macqueen master has matched him since)
