You're going to find that many of the truths we cling to depend greatly on our own point of view
I hate the Star Wars trend of characters conveniently not dying when going against a much more powerful opponent.
The only time it played out reasonably was when four dumb Jedi fucks went against Sheev, or that time Maul and his retard brother went against Sheev.
More accurately, I hate the trend of characters being able to 'hold their own' against much more powerful characters.
Sheev is a great character for many reasons, but also because he tends to break this rule. He either toys with characters like Vader did with Luke in V, or he outright kills them.
All the cartoon shit and the new film have supposedly super powerful bad guys show themselves to be weak as fuck.
Boba Fett is hired to kill Luke in the (canon) comics.
Of course Luke is blind for reasons so he can't see that it's Boba Fett he's fighting.
Of course Boba Fett loses/leaves because of reasons.
Who hasn't fought Vader and survived at this point?
Ignore the prequels and spin-offs. Wouldn't it make sense for the Sith (yes they were called that in the OT) to use swords?
Lightsabers are the weapon of the Jedi Knights. Maybe they trained to fight the Sith, maybe the Sith trained to fight them.
Even if the Sith were wizards and the Jedi were knights, you'd think they'd both have some level of training in the other field.
Everyone is saying Vader will kill Snips, but he loves the orange buttcheeks too much....Filloni is going to have Vader turn Anakin for the moment Vader is about to end her, and let her go
>implying Mace didn't beat Sheev
Not quite sure, but I didn't notice it until you said something.
>lightsabers used to be powered by battery packs with cords
>the sith made the first "modern" cordless lightsaber
Sure. "Jedi" weapon.
Are main characters even allowed to die outside the main films?
Chewbacca died and then nobody else did, because everyone was too mad.
Luke showed up as a ghost in the future but they never said how he died.
Anakin was always there. Sheev talked to him before the jedi confronted him. There is no point Sheev didn't sense Anakin's presence. He manipulated the whole thing to his advantage and he won decisively.
>there are actually people who think Mace won that fight
>there are people who think that Sheev was able to kill three Jedi Masters in four seconds, but was conveniently unable to beat Mace Windu until Anakin showed up to witness the sight of Mace Windu about to murder an innocent old man
There is no doubt that "sith" was a thing from the beginning
In one of the earlier drafts for example they were space pirates that were taught the ways of the dark side by and early dissident dark jedi in the distant past of the galaxy and the force etc
Mace knew Anakin was coming, Sheev had to convince Anakin to come to the darkside, so Sheev threw the fight, OTHERWISE SHEEV WOULD HAVE KILLED MACE WINDOW AND ANAKIN WOULD HAVE NEVER TURNED
Clone Wars and Rebels are canon.
Why does that bother anyone?
It couldn't be any more obvious. The alternative is that Sheev's plans only worked because he fucked up, and that if he won the fight his plans wouldn't have worked. Mace Windu winning doesn't make sense in any context, and it ultimately didn't happen, even if you're completely blind to the fact that the master manipulator Sheev was expressly controlling and thoroughly manipulating the situation.
There is no "Disney EU"
This is part of the official canon.
So yes >>65127164 OPs pic is going to happen.
>ignoring the next shot of Mace blocking Sheev's thrust
>ignoring Sheev's strained face as they bladelock
>ignoring differences in lightsaber styles
Only people who care about Star Wars know Mace won.
Mace would have killed him, have you read the novelization?
Mace was always a better swordsman than Yoda.
>The official novelizations
>have you read the novelization?
No, I've watched the movie
Then who decides what is and isn't canon?
George Lucas sold those rights, so it isn't him.
>The official novelizations and word of god states Mace won the fight.
Stop making bullshit up with "BUT IN THE BOOK IT SAYS MACE WON, HAHAHA I CANT POST A SOURCE BECAUSE ITS IN A BOOK, EVEN THOUGH ITS NOT REALLY IN THE BOOK BECAUSE IM FULL OF SHIT, BUT I CAN FOOL YOU AND SAY ITS IN THE BOOK HAHAHAH IM SO BASED"
mfw you just inadvertently summarized feminism
"Who won the fight between Sheev and Windu" is like the Star Wars litmus test for autism.
There's always one or two Macefags who have to cite novels or comics to make their point against the obvious narrative of a scene from the movie.
The Strawpolls always show just how far in the minority they are.
Why is he so skinny?
>just chicken cheep cheep cheep cheep
No, Sheev was toying with Malik Dindu because he needed him as a fucking prop to fully turn Anakin to the dark side.
Malik was a prop. Nothing more.
Malik Dindu was the worst character in the prequels, and perhaps the entire Star Wars Universe.
He loses.. And then fucking murders the guy that "beat him".
Right? It shows exactly how many people with autism there are that think Sidious won.
Doesn't mean that Sidious could've beat him 1v1 though.
>Throwing your incriminating lightsaber out the window and falling down to a position of weakness and putting your opponent in a compromising position of looking like a psychotic assassin the exact second your confused and impressionable apprentice walks into the room proves you've lost the fight
>Even if you then literally kill that guy as soon as the drama has served its exact purpose
Why do the cartoons bring out the worst Star Wars autism?
It's pretty obvious his Force lightning was being absorbed by Mace's lightsaber so he stopped doing it.
It was only when Mace lost his arm, lightsaber and all, that Palpatine knew he could use the lightning again.
>Mfw vaapad and all other lightsaber forms aren't even mentioned in the movies and movie canon has and always will trump book canon.
Why are you faggots always such faggots?
>implying your headcannon means anything
I don't see what this proves
If you have to cite something alternative to the movie itself to prove your point then you're actually proving the other person's point
Isn't this obvious?
>Mace used the darkside to disfigure sheev
Face it faggot sheev posters he lost. He barely beat Yoda for fucks sake. The only reason why he won was because of home field advantage.
>Kit Fisto decapitated
I think when the novelization contradicts the original material, the original takes precedence. That's just me though.
>fell through the rain
That's not accurate though. Your novel is shit and not canon. It contradicts the movie which means it's not movie canon and that you are a complete failure.
Yeah I know for some reason I am browsing the shittiest and most asinine board on this site. Please someone just kill me. I still don't know why you faggots defend sheev so much? You must want him to fuck your boy pussies
Yeah, that's true. But it might've been that way because Lucas wanted to use Ian McDiarmid for the close up shots of the fight last minute
Because if Anakin wasn't there, Sidious would have won.
It's pretty clear.
>You're arguing against a scene in a movie by posting extracts from a novel, you fucking retard.
>extracts from the novel based on the script itself
I mean this pretty much just proves that people who think Mace Windu won that fight are inevitably reduced to autistic shitposting as soon as numerous other people point out that their novels aren't canon or even relevant
> you fucking idiot
You sure are getting defensive over a shitty cartoon you manchild. Ezra and Kanan have plot armor so they are going to get away no matter what. Vader has been reduced to a shitty side character who can't stop people because they have plot armor. Him recking a bunch of no named rebels doesn't make up for that.
>Palpatine roared back to his feet
This just proves that Palpatine was pretending to be old and weak and beaten to manipulate the situation, and as soon as he got the desired result he stopped the charade
Even the fucking novels prove it
What the hell
Why the fuck didn't they just extend TCW series?
This would have been a billion times cooler.
>If you have to cite something alternative to the movie itself to prove your point
Yeah I see where you're going with this.
>then you're actually proving the other person's point
Wait what the fuck? You just went full retard. If they have to pull from extraneous sources then it doesn't prove their point, but it also doesn't automatically prove the other person's point. That doesn't logic you fucking retard.
George sold everything to Disney and without him to work on TCW, the series would have tanked in quality. His money was what kept the animation in good condition later on in the show.
>He barely beat Yoda for fucks sake
He beat Yoda so bad that he put himself into self-imposed exile on a swamp planet and then died in his sleep
He beat Mace so bad that Anakin joined the dark side and killed all the Jedi
>George sold everything to Disney and without him to work on TCW, the series would have tanked in quality.
So basically they didn't want to complete the animation. But the episodes they released of season 7 with incomplete animation were still better then any rebels episode.
Palpatine beat Mace Windu so hard that The Chosen One started killing children
Literally everyone that read any of that Traviss shit from Legends. She basically took Boba and Jango's armor and made an entire culture around it. Then people assumed Jango and by clone extension, Boba, were Mandalorian because of using it's armor. George never wanted it that way, which is why they aren't Mandos now.
They didn't want him to be on the Council yet. Palpatine essentially forced their hand and they had to put Anakin on it.
>All that woulda been avoided
the feelings he had towards the order for not letting him fuck his wife and his padawan would not have changed. his anger with himself for not being able to save his mother would not have changed. his anger with himself AND the order for failing ahsoka would not have changed. his fear of losing the last thing he loves thanks to force visions would not have changed. he was desperate to keep padme alive and didnt care what he had to do. so making him a master wouldnt have done shit in the long run since what really turned him was the hope of saving padme with the dark side
Star Wars Clone Wars cartoon (CG)
Star Wars Rebels cartoon
Any book/comic written after the EU wipe
Any video game made after the EU wipe (so only the new shit battlefront and a couple of mobile games)
Star Wars Clone Wars cartoon (Genndy, 2D animated)
The entire EU (Mara Jade, Thrawn, etc, etc).
Leia is cute! CUTE!!!
his face is red/black plus a bunch of tattoos, it's probably to harder to see his facial expression with his tattoos so they got to move his face a lot
im just guessiing, two be honest
I understand your anger over people doing that, but the LSG is doing it as well.
Quinlan Vos was mentioned in one throwaway line in ROTS, so any arc he got in TCW meant he wouldn't die or be excommunicated from the Order. See: Dark Disciple novel, which took TCW scripts that didn't make it to full production pre-Disney. Vos is literally the biggest fuck up in the galaxy and gets off mostly trouble free from the shit he caused, all because he was on Boz Pity in ROTS.
god thats so good. i cant fucking wait
>ahsoka..why did you leave?
>do you know what ive become?
then the tears. gets me hard every time. if you listen to the very end you hear a faint "i shouldve pounded your orange julius more"
I said the same thing in 1998 when Darth Horns was wielding Exar Kun's lightsaber.
>if you listen to the very end you hear a faint "i shouldve pounded your orange julius more"
>thinking Anakin would have cheated on his wife
He already betrayed the Order that he has spent half his life with to marry and fuck Padme. No need to project your interest in Ahsoka onto Anakin.
Time for you to grow out of saying this, anon.
>Why the fuck didn't they just extend TCW series?
Things get complicated when properties get sold, at the very least it would mean a halt in production while everything was renegotiated, with no guarantees of it ever picking up again. They were lucky they were as far into Season 6 production as they were when Lucas cashed in his chips and they had half a season to put on Netflix, the show could well have ended with Ahsoka walking away from the Jedi.
Story Group loves KotOR.
Ahsoka & Anakin's nicknames for each other.
He is taken to an old Jedi Temple and convenes with the force and is given a kyber crystal for it. Since the Order is not around to share lightsaber building tips, or take people to Ilum, Ezra has to use spare parts from the ship he now lives on to make the lightsaber. That's why it is part blaster.
Obi-wan is giving a meeting in some room in the temple about the Outer Rim sieges and mentions it to Anakin, who missed the meeting and walked in late.
>No need to project your interest in Ahsoka onto Anakin
youre right. like obi wan said, he has done that himself. i dont need to
Uuuh, the fucking fact they're MANDOLORIANS wearing MANDALORIAN armor. Fucking Jango Fett was even the fucking Mandalor, but in self-imposed exile or something because he didn't want to put up with any more of Mandalore's shit.
The comics were bad-fucking-ass and aside from Traviss making suping up Mandos and equating them to Jedi in her eyes, the culture stuff and fleshing out the race was pretty sweet.
Seriously, how do people NOT think the two most famous bounty hunters weren't Mandalorians?
>Uuuh, the fucking fact they're MANDOLORIANS
But this is not nor has it EVER been true. Ever. Not in Disney canon and not in Lucas canon. Maybe in the pseudo-canon old EU, but never in anything that actually had real bearing on the actual story being told.
making prequels and in between stories is pretty misguided. you have to create loads of characters and events that you know have to all disappear before they contradict the movies. Ashoka always have to die or disappear. The sith inquisitors all have to die or disappear, as do fucking hondo inaka and fucking maul, who shouldn't have been brought back in the clone wars, let alone this.
now ahsoka, the clones, hondo, maul, these guys with the yellow lightsabers, and all of the main characters have to vanish or die so the writers can weasel their way around these supposedly significant characters not being in or mentioned in the real films.
fuck. why does luke fight vader in a stupid comic
You act like the main characters in the movies are the only people in the galaxy that are actively doing things. What about all the important characters in ROTJ that were not shown prior to it; they just appear out of thin air for the movie, even though they are key leaders in the Rebellion, right? Star Wars always has a problem with Small Galaxy Syndrome because the movies always follow a Skywalker's story, but that doesn't invalidate all the trillions upon trillions of potential characters that have stories that can be told.
George isn't bank rolling the animation department to actually do a good job at it. Disney doesn't want to drop as much money per episode as George was (supposedly 1 million USD per TCW episode) so there is less hope for the show to look good.
Yoda orders space hookers off Craigslist so he can show them his big darkside tree, except he's kinky motherfucker and like to ride mens backs, Ezra just had to put up an offer that Yoda couldnt refuse
Mandos come from all backgrounds and races. Literally all someone needs to do to consider themselves a Mandalorian is embrace the culture. Kiwis or no kiwis.
>pseudo-canon old EU
No, Lucas would have no reason to come out and say 'oh yeah this little side character I made up and is kinda cool is from X background and Y homeworld.' Thats why its just natural for the background that they were associated with to become canon in the majority of their fans' eyes.
It just feels forced to say, "aw yeah naw, they just wore the armor, they weren't ACTUAL mandalorians, not that it actually matters 'n whatnot"
And the books and comics have been out for years. Canon is canon, so what Lucas says goes, but they were Mandalorians for years and it's stupid for anyone to think they would be anything BUT Mandalorian.
fair point, but these characters interact with the main characters and are very important to them, for example ahsoka, kana and ezra, but are never mentioned in any films and actually conflict with the world that is built - luke is supposed to be the last jedi. by creating them you ask questions like "are obi wan and yoda ignorant of these important force users, or are they lying to luke/the viewer?"
sure, it's a big galaxy, but it's intentionally a story about some of the most notable people - the last jedi and the few sith. new characters water things down, undermine the stakes.
I started watching it for the first time yesterday, pretty good. although the character's were not ever introduced. Was I supposed to start with the movie? Where did Asoka come from?
Now you've got it. You watch/read things that are entertaining regardless if they are canon or not.
Thrawn Trilogy and X-wing novels may not be canon but who the fuck cares? Both are better than the prequels and TFA.
Mace is like second-in-command of the Jedi order after Yoda. You'd expect him to be badass. The others are just generic Jedi Masters, above average but not outstanding.
Plus it is illegal to allow Samuel Jackson to die like a wimp.
