I just watched TOS and TNG in the last month so I have no idea what Star Trek threads were before that point
It's a courageous barkeep helps hoo-mans escape from slavery episode.
>I love star trek.
Do you love all Star Treks equally?
Are there any Star Treks that you love less than the other Star Treks?
If so, VOTE!
theyve gotten godawul since the tfa bump. a couple have been decent but most are full of reddit tier memeing.
fuck you and your shitty polls.this is the only poll worth a damn
why did picard toss it aside so carelessly
Post another pole worth a damn.
This is the only pole that's worth a damn.
This ship shows up and slaps your girlfriends nacelles, wat do?
Has anyone wondered what this episode must've been like for the regular universe's crew, receiving the mirror away team?
>Its a wondering if we're finally cancelled episode.
Friendly reminder that Paramount and Warner Bros purposely took what they liked from the Babylon 5 script and put it in the DS9 script. Making DS9 nothing more than B5 in a Star Trek universe setting.
That's how time travel works in Star Trek.
Source: Every single pre-JJ episode or movie of Star Trek.
There's always only one single timeline (not to be confused with parallel universes, of which there are an infinite number), and the creation of any new timeline means the erasure of the old timeline.
That shits so LOW RES even the thumbnail looks blurry.
>Friendly reminder that Paramount and Warner Bros purposely took what they liked from the Babylon 5 script and put it in the DS9 script.
>Friendly reminder that [...] Warner Bros purposely took what they liked from the Babylon 5 script and put it in the DS9 script.
>Warner Bros [...] put it in the DS9 script.
Warner Bros. didn't work on DS9, kin.
Maybe you should stop posting this until you get a better understanding of what actually happened.
>Its an anon thinks NuTrek is the only cannon episode.
Captain Kirk once held a statue like this.
>It's a never trust your parents episode
Favorite episode of every series:
The Big Goodbye, though I'm also partial to Phantasms
Inter Arma Enim Silent Leges
I honestly can't think of one right now
>There's always only one single timeline (not to be confused with parallel universes, of which there are an infinite number), and the creation of any new timeline means the erasure of the old timeline.
This doesn't say anything about what is and isn't canon though. You are looking at time from a human perspective instead of as a full range from the beginning to the end of the universe: we haven't seen much of what happens 'after' the end of Into Darkness; someone could go back in time again and stop the timeline from being disturbed. Ontologically speaking you can't make claims about which timeline is more 'real' than another unless you have the full picture, which we don't
Besides, there are plenty of weird time-travel paradoxes in Trek that don't fit with "there's always only one single timeline". How did Picard cause the anomaly that got his attention in All Good Things... ?
I HATE this Jew so fucking much right now.
He was a good friend.
>How did Picard cause the anomaly that got his attention in All Good Things... ?
Picard wouldn't have shot a tachyon beam into subspace 3 different times if Q hadn't made him jump around between 3 different time periods.
Always loved Counselor Troi even when I was younger and "wasn't old enough to like girls" I think it was the combination of her unique look and accent and her kind almost motherly personality. Actually now that I think about it I never knew her race. (Actress not character) She has a gorgeous look whatever she is.
Orci said that The Voyage Home was a parallel universe movie, not a time travel movie.
He said that TVH was about the crew traveling to a parallel universe where Earth was still stuck in the eighties.
Don't believe his lies.
I saw him speak at a convention in Vegas and he sounded really desperate. He showed a trailer for this movie he made that looked extremely mediocre. He talked about how he hung out with all the child actors of the 90s who would go on to be acclaimed and successful in the 2000s, and that he was left out of it. Then he crashed the Voyager cast panel.
Dude was kind of a wreck.
ITT: The patrician's choice
And now Icheb is starring in Star Trek: Renegades, along with:
>Adrienne "Khan's daughter" Wilkinson
>Tim "Tuvok" Russ
>Robert "EMH's creator" Picardo
>Nichelle "Uhura" Nichols
>Cirroc "Jake" Lofton
>Walter "Chekov" Koenig
>Hana "Molly O'Brien" Hatae
>Terry "Jadzia" Farrell
>Aron "Nog" Eisenberg
>Robert "Chakotay" Beltran
B R A V O
That sounds kinda sad.
Carrie Fisher was released in 1956
In spite of that long thread you or a buddy of yours made recently. The verdict has been in, and remains unchanged for approaching four decades: this is one of the worst entries in the film series.
Did you watch the first one?
Star Trek: Renegades: Episode One: The Biggest Disappointment Since My Son:
Remember the time Data hooked up with the Borg Queen
the fuck? i thought chakotay hated being associated with trek.
i also thought nog was a zombie by now.
Episodes that were about Neelix were great because the deal with his tragic backstory, his former life as a smooth talking rogue, or his relationships with other crew members. He's only annoying when he's in the background going "Look at this weird shit I cooked up from some random junk that was laying around! You're going to love it!!!!" Then everyone tries his weird dish and hates it.
>REEEEEEEEEEE GET THIS SW SHIT OUT MUH PURE ST THREAD!
>Its a incoming box office bomb episode.
>i also thought nog
Is that how fans refer to the ds9 captain now?
Are we going to reach a point where Trek threads are just a neverending series of
>it's a [x] episode
>reminder that [x] [y]
Toby a good boy tho. HE didn dun nuffin worng!
Its not movie related but heres my 1/1400 trek ship collection. The Warbird is way outta scale though.
I met John De Lancie (Q) completely by accident; I was giving someone directions at an airport and I happened to point directly at him.
I also met the guy who played Quark last month. He was playing Scrooge in a Christmas Carol production and he and the whole cast stood outside and greeted everyone on the way out. He was a pretty damn good Scrooge, too.
may as well toss it all into the dumpster
lore is more than a bit goofy in his evil
they'd have to give the character a bit of a rewrite to get a villain that wasn't cheese
not that this wouldnt work
also complaining that data is too important is like complaining spock is too important, its not like scotty, sulu, chekov, uhura, etc werent second fiddle in every film to kirk/spock/mccoy
I had a chance to get a picture of Quark signed by him (Armin Shimerman) for like 50c at a yard sale last summer but I didn't get it. Really annoyed in hindsight, he's had some great roles like Andrew Ryan in Bioshock, Dr Nefarious in Ratchet & Clank, Principal Snyder in Buffy
Nice time quads
How come Kim got to fuck so many girls on the show. this image doesn't even show all the woman he slept with.
This. Only plebs can't appreciate the beauty that is Star Trek: The Motion Picture.
>>The Doctor (EMH)
He even got his own Holo family .
Would have given anything for her to have worn that silver outfit for the duration of her stay on Voyager. Fucking 90s prudes man.
What was it with Roddenberry and Matriarchy?
Star Trek series pitch, 1963: "Pet Shop"
Genesis II series pitch, 1972: "Poodle Shop"
Planet Earth, TV pilot, 1974
Star Trek Phase II series pitch, 1977: "Are Unheard Melodies Sweet?"
Star Trek: TNG: "Angel One"
Star Trek: VOY: The one where Kim gets a harum
i know it wasnt the first but i remember seeing sins of the father when it first aired on tv with my dad. comfy times.
That goes without saying.
I know this feel.
Could Phase II have worked? Obviously it could've been made - and it was extremely close to being made - but could it have been good?
Was Dukat the biggest troll in television history?
notice the serious cameltoe in crusher's thong pictured here
Batman and Robin was released in 1949
>mixing characters with races with ships
Way to half-ass it.
Just like how the writers half-assed Voyager.
Westworld was released in 1973
>Now you're probably wondering how I got myself in this situation...
Yeah I actually got that one from pinterest with is tumblr-tier.
It was really annoying actually: apparently you can't use the site without an account so I had to load the page and quickly grab the image before the popup to log in came
>spacer line between quote and commentary
>You are now aware that Seven of Nines father is Ug from Salute Your Shorts.
Neelix did absolutely NOTHING wrong
TNG is the most Redditous of the Star Treks. Everybody knows that.
Kes was old enough. Also Neelix is love.
thats also what he said about naomi amirite
I know . Ds9 comes in number two while voyager is second to last on their list. Leaving ENT out in the cold. What does reddit have against hot space babes in cat suits?
>4chan also votes
You mean the new batch of reddit and normies who have invaded 4chan within the last few years voted in that reddit generated pol.
First rule about true 4chan is that 4chan doesn't vote on things. It DOS things to death from time to time but it doesn't vote. Voting is for the normies who actually thing their vote matters.
A one-baby limit means that their population cannot grow. Because not every child will be able to give birth (some babies are male, y'see), the population will shrink with every generation, until one day all Ocampa are dead.
Voyager writers amirite.
You've posted this chart about a hundred times by now. That TNG scored higher than DS9 on a poll doesn't change the fact that DS9 is literally reddit: the Trek. Hell, it's in second place while the other three options are way out behind.
>I don't like Voyager and Enterprise therefore 4chan doesn't
Annoying that when they decided to kick one person out it was going to be that chinky chonk - and then he won some handsome slit eye of the year award so they dumped beautiful waifs instead
He was a shit actor - a very bad attitude often turned up late etc
I bet the rest of the cast still hate him
Season six of Voyager. They stay on the show for few episodes.
Can any New Zealand anons explain why Janeway is on your money?
Captain Braxton is going to hear about this...
Friendly reminder that the third season of Enterprise did a war arc and the concept of good people needing to do bad things for the greater good better than DS9 ever did even if DS9 is on the whole more consistent.
They also planned their story arc out ahead of time instead of making it up as they went along. Ron Moore could have learned a thing or two.
The HD remaster was one of the best things to ever happen to a TV series.
>It's a Seven of Nine, Tertiary Adjunct of Unimatrix 01 Learns How to Eat but not How to Use the Toilet episode
so i'm watching Archer atm and i just realized the cardinal in the vatican is rene auberjonois. looked him up and hes apaprently done a lot of voices in cartoons.
it doesn't have to be your favourite but if you don't like it you need to kill yourself right now.
I can't believe there are people who like any of the TNG movies over this masterpiece.
Like how is it possible it's the worst star trek related thing ever?
Like...worse than fucking Insurrection, and generations?
>fucking Insurrection, and generations?
you go die in a hole
>tfw finally finished X-Files marathon
>time to get back to Star Trek TOS
One day I'll be able to experience the joys of TNG with you fine folks.
Kind of anxious about Voyager and That Star Trek Series Where They Don't Trek Through The Stars, though.
TOS is unique, in the 1st and 2nd season basically all the episodes are good, which would never be the case in trek again until about season 5 or 6 of TNG.
Prepare for season 3 of TOS though, every episode is basically about kirk seducing an alien space babe to escape essentially.
>Voyager and That Star Trek Series Where They Don't Trek Through The Stars, though.
theyre breddy gud, its just that you have to take one side or the other in these threads cause the hate from the other side allows no compromise.
voyager is most like TNG so if you like TNG youll like voyager. ds9 is very different but it has some great war/espionage episodes that you dont get in the other series.
Fuck. Those bits already make me a bit uncomfortable when they appear now.
I think I'm into Season 2 now. Really appreciate the addition of Chekov, even if he doesn't show up too much, and the whole "Everything was invented in Russia" thing feels dated and awkward.
The addition of a screeching woman to the chill bossa nova theme is jarring though.
Thanks for allaying some of my fears, Anon.
Have you guys all heard Voltaire's BiTrektual album? Most of it's not-so-great but there are some pretty awesome tracks on there. An anon put me onto it in a Trek thread like the day before yesterday.
The USS Make Shit Up
Screw the Ocampa
every episode becomes a game, waiting for the cock rocket to arrive, then figuring out how kirk ends up abandoning her at the end (either she dies, decides she doesn't want kirk anymore or can't leave etc.)
That stuff is ancient. Banned on Vulcan came out 15 years ago
Man i envy you.
>You will never watch TNG and DS9 for the first time again
>the moment when you see the mirror tunnel after 3 minutes of watching ass
Seen the first 'movie'. If there is gonna be a series made from it I don't know. Also Sean Young is in it (wearing spectacles kek). It's a bit long winded and wooden to be honest. It's only appeal is seeing some of the old actors again.
(only watched the trailer)
The acting seems forgivable despite some hamminess, the cgi was surprisingly good. However, every single non-cgi shot looked like a fucking music video or commercial, something off about the lighting/camerawork.
Can anyone with more film knowledge than me explain the issue?
On the original draft by Orci, Pegg commented that Paramount "had a script for Star Trek that wasn't really working for them. I think the studio was worried that it might have been a little bit too Star Trek-y." For his role as the primary screenwriter, Pegg had been asked to make this new film "more inclusive", stating that the solution was to "make a western or a thriller or a heist movie, then populate that with Star Trek characters so it's more inclusive to an audience that might be a little bit reticent."[
what is the point of even making it a Trek movie if your entire point is to target normies who would otherwise not want to see Trek because of its reputation? For fuck sake, it's like saying "we're making a salad, but we're making it entirely out of dog-food to attract dogs"
>what is the point of even making it a Trek movie if your entire point is to target normies who would otherwise not want to see Trek because of its reputation?
Every fucking Star Trek movie to fucking date in a nut shell.
why were the alien timers in arabic numerals? totally throws me off
So I have just started watching TOS after finishing up TNG and it´s such a surreal experience. The sass between the senior officers, the weird-ass lightning in the scenes and weird sound-work makes for a entertaining but weird watch.
the universal translator is directly put into their brains and can even translate visuals
The sound mixing really rustled me. Turn the volume up so I can hear the dialogue, and all the effects blow my ears off. Turn it down, can't hear what anybody is saying
The camera is 3 feets away from the people they're filming and moves all the time, and it's way too dark.
Take some random TNG episode, camera is mostly static, lights everywhere, camera is farther away from the action
>Turn the volume up so I can hear the dialogue, and all the effects blow my ears off. Turn it down, can't hear what anybody is saying
Yeah same here, dont get me started on that annoying noise they use for the com-links.
Okay that makes sense. There seemed to be a problem with light glaring on all the characters, but that is precisely because the overall lighting is too dark.
Is that the bosun whistle? I actually have that as my alarm
only use of a hull-separating shuttle im aware of. this came up in a previous thread where this shuttle was shown in design
i hope new series introduces skirts back
What is the single best episode or two parter out of all the various star trek series?
My vote goes to 'In The Pale Moonlight'.
The skirts were great.
They can get around it by having a female character stick up for variety in fashion over forced uniformity.
A few posts left before bump limit, make em good
>inb4 "you start"
>what happened to my life?
Pursuit of comfy Star Trek discussion is a legit pastime.
just watched lower decks. what
wesley thought about picard getting his friend and dad killed
