You know, i actually didn't have that much of a problem with Rey. Some people are born more special and talented then others, and her rough life covers most of her talents like fighting, engineering, flying and linguistics.

That said, they fucked up on 2 things i hope to improve:
1) she showed NO weaknesses which is a bigger indicator of a Mary Sue then any number of talents
2)she owned Kylo Ren withing seconds of discovering she has the force and then again withing seconds of picking up a lightsaber

What they need to do is make her fuck up somehow, show she is flawed, and have the now fully trained Kylo ANNIHILATE her in a rematch. I'm talking shitstomp. Have him take a limb, too, it's tradition.

It's different. The shock value with Obi Wan's is that he was supposed to guide Luke, and in a way the audience too, to whatever they're fighting for.

Han's death is shocking because he has been around so long and is so familiar with everyone.

It's a mentor's death and a friend's death. I expected them killing the mentor to shake up the status quo, but not the best friend of the mc.
