Poe is going to be front and center on the next movie's poster. They are going to pull an Empire Strikes Back where the plot pushes Poe and Rey off into one part of the galaxy and Finn into another, but they'll all meet up either at the beginning or the end of the movie (or both). Poe was loved by pretty much everyone, and while Finn was an entertaining character he wasn't really enough to carry the movie, especially in the international market.

Giving John Boyega top-billing probably cost this movie anywhere from $300-500 million just because the international market, especially Asia, are not easily made excited for movies with black leads. If it was Will Smith that'd be one thing, but Boyega is a virtually unknown African-British actor who is not terribly handsome.

As someone from SEA and only watched Star Wars OT late last year, the intro in ANH is a bit boring. But once Luke shows up and they start looking for Obi-Wan and so one, it gets pretty interesting. It has a lot of jargon that's probably intimidating/confusing to some.

There are scenes in OT that also feels like it dragged on a little too much. The ewoks were horrible in RotJ too.

Star Wars was popular, partly to the technology and effects it showed at its time. This was never shown in Asia, so a lot of Asians can't appreciate how much of a milestone the movie was in 1977.

It might be racism for some but no I think he's tough on the eyes. Especially with all the heavy breathing and sweaty close ups. Ugh. If it was Michael b jordan playing Finn I'd be fine with it.
