So who's gonna win in the Legendary remake?
Would it be cool if Godzilla is attacked by Mecha Kong, and Kong is attacked by mecha Godzilla, which then culminates in the monsters teaming up to fight their mecha counterparts?
>an even bigger monster
But who? They're already going to put Ghidorah in Godzilla 2 so he's out of the picture.
>godzilla king kong and pacific rim are all owned by the same guys
>tfw no Japzilla vs Fatzilla
nigga needs to get on weightwatchers
The new Japanese design for Godzilla looks absolutely retarded
>trying to turn him into a Silent Hill monster
>owtheedge red streaks all over him...that's actually RAW FLESH!
>not scaly at all
The Legendary one was perfect, I don't understand why they're ruining it. Just accept that the west makes better movies, Toho.
>tfw no Godzilla in Hell adaptation
>Mecha Godzilla only works if the skeleton structure from a previous Godzilla is used.
Weren't the first two Mechagodzillas just regular robots and not that cyborg stuff they had in what you're talking about?
Japan has had plenty of better godzilla movies , the problem here is that
>the man in charge is a guy who is mentally unstable
>the SPFX director is past his prime (he did great work for gamera, but AOT effects were trash)
>Just accept that the west makes better movies, Toho.
Second circle of hell, lust.
They are going for a more horror look for him, but from what I heard the new Japzilla is the original Godzilla from 1954. The oxygen bomb was not enough to kill him so he is regenerating slowly.
As for the Red streaks of raw flesh, well that just makes him look more like someone who has been victim of a atomic bomb.
>>the man in charge is a guy who is mentally unstable
The problem more is that he thinks he's a SFX expert and has his own specific views as a FAN about tokusatsu works to the point where he values it over his own craft, when he is trained and practiced primarily as an animator.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa."
"You might be wondering how I ended up looking like that."
"We have to go back, way back, for about 61 yeas, in fact"
I feel like Jet Jaguar should appear along with other mechas like Moguera in some sequence of failed mechs being smashed by Godzilla at the beginning of the Mecha Godzilla movie, would be pretty kek-worthy.
Okay, this is like the one time I keked from this
Funny how much better the 2014 one would have been, if they just wrote out Kickass and Scarlet Witch.
Bryan Cranston could have had his role expanded a little and it would have been enough "humanity".
Don't think that all the screen time would have gone to Godzilla
fatzilla best godzilla
that chart is very biased, the length of old godzilla movies are on average about an hour and 30 minutes, godzilla 2014 is 2+ hours. Also on this chart they include the horrible cock tease scenes as godzilla screen time when you saw godzilla in the old movies he did something in godzilla 2014 he did nothing till the very end.
No one should post that chart its been proven wrong many times.
>google image search " kaiju_size_comparison_chart"
Except they aren't.
Universal owns PacRim and almost all of Legendary's properties since since 2014.
Legendary's Godzilla - and since last year Kong - movies however are still distributed through a partnership with WB.
Legendary seems like it'll hopefully pump new kaiju out, so I hope it's something that can split itself apart to send out little minions for Kong to fight and save itself for Goji in the final fight.
Honestly the Legendary Godzilla is objectively the best design for him yet. The movie itself had some pacing and content issues but keyh elements like Gs first appearance, his roar, and his atomic breath were fucking spot on and ridiculously epic.
Showa MG was an alien robot. Heisei MG was based off technology from the future, which was effectively the Heisei equivalent of aliens(they had a ship shaped life a flying saucer they called the "mothership")
I'm digging this dank new may may. It reminds me of the beginning of every Disney Channel original movie.
It's an intimidating and believable design that is both heroic and badass while staying pretty damn true to the original with its overall body shape. Yes I know I misused the word objectively but the general consensus on the design is overall very positive, even Toho approved. I think it's the perfect design to match the tone Legendary seems to be going for in their films.
Yeah, you haven't actually seen DAM.
Literally all the monster appearances are just few second cameos until that ~5 minutes of fuck-all fight at the end. Boring ass human plot as well, Monster Zero did it a lot better.
When it comes to overall monster footage (=counting all the MUTO stuff in) G14 would be way higher than most Showa entires tßh.
Yes, the scenes I described were in fact epic by definition. Just because a bunch of kids raised on the internet turn a word into a buzzword and overuse it doesn't mean it's lost its true meaning. If you were watching let's say basketball for example and the commentators mentioned Tim Curry sinking a 3 "for the win" would you feel the need to post a reaction image and direct them back to reddit? Get a grip son.
not really when you only include shit where stuff actually happens. we got like 2 minutes of actual kaiju fighting in 2014 I do not consider all the boring "build up" as kaiju screen time
not really to many jump cuts to the other characters, if the movie was a little shorter but as soon as the fight starts solely focus on godzilla the movie would have been way better. That is the problem they kept jumping away from godzilla during the good parts
Yeah they scaled both of them for the first movie but I don't know how Legendary is going to handle this now that they're trying to make a consistent universe. Only way is to make Kong alot bigger than he's supposed to be.
Make him a fast paced bruiser style you know, and give him back his sonic/electrical powers
Give him some haymakers and acrobatics and shit senpai and then Godzilla is too slow for him like muhammad ali
I'd say if he were a third the size of Godzilla but just had tons of agility and raw punching power he could pose a threat. They can't just make them the same size again. A creature as big as Godzilla can feasibly hide under water away from human eyes but an ape that big wouldn't exactly be incognito for very long.
He turns into a fugging skeleton and dissolves in the 1954.
Its comparing showa era Gigan and Angurius against heisei era Ghidorah and Godzilla.
Oddly enough Rodan stayed about the same between Showa and Heisei and only got bigger for final wars.
If nothing else you can be pretty much guaranteed Godzilla and King Kong are going to be at around the same height for the movie if it happens
>biggest Kong yet found on Skull island
>someone went experimenting with a captured Kong and got it bigger
>Kongs ancestors go back to the period in time where all the monsters fed on radiation and him being close to Godzilla is only growing him larger
Godzilla is going to be 350+ feet tall in this. Kong is ~25 feet tall. He wouldn't even make Godzilla a decent snack.
Obviously they will have to scale Kong up to near Godzilla size. How they will manage that, I have no idea.
Godzilla vs MechaGodzilla 2 where he died to resurrect Godzilla to kick MechaG's ass
