there's like 4 different creatures/aliens in that video whose design draw from already existing creatures in other works of fiction and the only reason it looks so nice is because short sub-5 minute shorts like that take over a year to produce

They fully embraced the cheesinees of it all. One of the cinematics even had a protos walking away from an explosion in slow motion. Quite a shame since the original starcraft had an actual story. But they didnt have much a choice on the direction they took the story. Once all the actual writers leave your company, you arent left with many options.
