>This movie is considered small budget
>After editing and some tweaks to the sound and visuals it cost $500,000
This doesn't include marketing either. Just wondered what your thoughts are on this? I reckon I could film something of similar (If not better) quality for a fraction of that.

>FREEZE FRAME
>>64661152
You couldn't.
>>64661202
To be fair I could film myself jacking it to tranny porn with my iPhone and produce something better than The Balir With Project. Itniant exactly a difficult feat to undertake.

> I make shit up without any knowledge of the subject
so when is your 13th birthday?
>>64661252
About 12 years ago. Yours is tomorrow though, right?
>>64661152
this movie made $249 million dollars. so what are you waiting for ? make your movie already Mister Director
I get really irritated when characters in such movies act so irrational. I get that tiredness, hunger and whatnot psychological effects will impair your judgement but come on. Try to come up with solutions using logic!
How about following the creek for a while. Surely that will get you to some human settlement. Why is this not even a suggestion? I want characters who can logically, even scientifically analyze the situation they are in. Very little of this was in the Cube but what else?
If I was one of the characters I would try to bend the mechanics in the same situation (of course if I could keep my composure), start a fire for example, burn down the forest.
>>64661310
I only wish I had the knowledge I have now 20 years ago. I could have made a trillion billion dollars with found footage garbage.

>I get that tiredness, hunger and whatnot psychological effects will impair your judgement but come on.
The actors actually got lost out there, so a lot of the arguing and frustration you see is genuine.

Making a movie, even independent films, require several groups of union workers and even renting a film production quality camera is gonna run you 10k for a couple weeks. Granted, everything is digital now, so it would probably be possible to do BWP for 250k now instead of 500k, but if you think you're gonna run into the woods with a couple friends and produce anything worth watching, then you're wrong.
>>64661348
Did you even watch the movie? They weren't lost in the woods like a bunch of retards, they were lost in some alternate paranormal dimension.
>>64661152
BLAIR WITCH WAS THE MODEL FOR THE PARANORMAL ACTIVITIES
ULTRA LOW BUDGET WITH HUGE RETURN ON INVESTMENT
IT WONT CATCH HEADLINE NUMBERS LIKE BILLION DOLLAR BLOCKBUSTERS, BUT CAN BE MORE PROFITABLE IN THE END
>>64661152
pretty much any movie made with a budget under $2 million is "small budget"
>>64661361
They're still making metabux high percentage returns, so go do it faggot. Take out a 500k loan. Of course, you'll only need what, 300k, right?
>>64661448
Try $5 million. And even then you'd have to get a bunch of drama students to act for free. Making movies ain't cheap.
>>64661427
Have you tried typing without caps lock on?
>BWPIDF
>>64661152
Yeah but it looks awful, it literally only made money due to viral marketing and the masses relatively naivety towards everything internet. There's no way people would ever watch a literal garbage tier movie like that nowadays
>>64662041
people watch plenty of these shitty horror movies though.
>>64662041
>There's no way people would ever watch a literal garbage tier movie like that nowadays
I think it's more because the found footage genre is overused now.
Back when it came out it was a huge new thing, even if it wasn't the first movie to use it. Paranormal Activity used a ton of viral marketing too, and it was successful.
>>64661251
omg that is so absurd of a claim haha i am just IMAGINING you doing that and it being better than TBWP haha xD
>Budget $22,500
Why are you such a liar?
>>64662201
Why are you so retarded?
>>64661152
Upstream Color cost 50k
Even if you don't like it I think it proves you can fund a decently - produced film if you save and aren't a poor fag
>>64661463
What are you trying to prove by intentionally ignoring the point of OP's thread?
>>64663628
Yes Upstream Color has a fantastic screenplay and great ideas but it definitely looked cheap as hell.
