its a joke / reference to a standard college rape story. It also happened in a book where some guys, during a college / uni party had sex with girls. The guys admitted partying with them, drinking, smoking, boozing, groping and having sex with them without consent and even when passed out. When the guys became successful, the girls sued them and dragged their names through the dirt. Bateman was reffering to this, because I'm sure him and the boys did something similar but never got caught, and its obviously a bad, scary thing for them all.
>A bold striped shirt calls for solid-colored or discretely patterned suits and ties
>always tip the stylist 15 percent
what did he mean by these?
How would lunch with Bateman and Cliff Huxtable go?
he could be the maitre d'
Private Investigator Kimble named after Ahnuld in Kindergarten Cop
Kindergarten Cop came out in 1990
American Psycho is 80's horror satire
Mfw 1990 is still technically the last year of the 80's
Why was the inspector so creepy guys? He was the most horrifying character by far, the way he looked at Pat and when he pulled out Hewey Lewis with this fucking smile, damn.
Did he know Bateman did it? It would only make sense, he was so unnerving
>Did he know Bateman did it?
It was deliberately ambiguous to make the viewer feel Patrick's unease. His scenes were filmed three times, one where he knows Pat was the killed, one where he's not sure, and one where he doesn't suspect. The three versions of each scene were stitched together.
I read this chapter last night actually. The whole Yale thing is just something Bateman pulls out of his ass because the detective flusters him. He has no idea himself what it means.
I know I'm going to have some /lit/ autist come in and make fun of me but American Psycho is possibly my favourite book. On my latest read through I noticed that half of the time, the long winded descriptions of a group's clothing that Bateman gives actually describe everyone as wearing (basically) the same clothes. Like, he'll go on and on about the designer and the material but it'll boil down to everyone in the group wearing a grey double breasted suit, a white shirt and red tie.
I mean, I should have noticed it before but I never actually payed attention in the description bits.
>mfw getting my MBA and doing an internship at citibank in NYC
Soon I will become the real bateman
Definitley, there's quite a lot of plot that's not in the film but there's also an insight into Bateman's mind that you don't get from the film.
It also gets a lot more hardcore than the film in places.
If you have patience, Blood Meridian is really good. It's pretty difficult to read though. The prose is regarded as some of the best ever written, but I had a really hard time with it.
The Count of Monte Cristo is really good too. It's a bit long, but not uninteresting at all.
My favorite book is Les Miserables, but it's not really for everybody. There's a large chunk of very boring sections.
The movie is a semi-faithful adaptation of the book. The book is way more violent, and you get a lot more of Patrick Bateman. Also, it doesn't have the stupid ambiguous ending that the movie has (That's my least favorite part of the movie).
>Oh Africa, Brave Africa
>It was a laugh riot
Keks out of me and whoever I happen to be watching it with every time. His pathological lies are the funniest part of the entire movie.
>ywn have a qt secretary lusting after your d
It's pretty neat how in some scenes he's a greek god, and in others he's a creepy waxen dummy.
>you will never have Jane the secretary who's in love with me
>you will never do shitty coke with Timothy
>you will never have sex with an out-xanaxed so-called fiancé while listening to Genesis
Why even go on
i thought that was a very big & obvious point
patrick puts so much into effort into his looks, his music etc but he is indistinguishable among his peers to the point where he is confused for other people - and him sperging when it happens being funny
Thanks Patrick, I love sorb.
this is a spam thread. who is making all these spam threads and for what reason? this day alone i detected at least 10 spam threads and i made a screen shot.
yeah she goes out with that loser Patrick Batman. What a dork!
I have the biggest collection of Patrick Bateman reaction pictures right in this folder, for all your repeated numbers needs
However, I'm still missing a couple or 2, so I wont release it until I make sure that I have at least 1 GB
Also, ''Yale thing'' might be a reference for sex, drugs, alcohol, and rape
heres one you may not have
also do you have the reaction pic of bateman doing this funny smile after the detective says "to think that one of his friends killed him for no reason whatsoever would be too ridiculous. Isn't that right Patrick? then he does the goofy smile
not a bateman but still a good bale pic
Everytime I watch American Psycho, I laugh the entire time and people get mad at me.
Where can I find the book version of this?
TRY GETTING DUBS NOW YOU STUPID FUCKING BASTARD!
I watch it nearly once a month with a friend of mine, we work in a similar business as Pat and are both in our mid-twenties and it sort of became a ritual. We smoke cigars, drink J&B on ice and do coke when Bateman does. It's fun.
Polite spoiler for blogshit.
>tfw 2,000 posts on wso pretending to be a big shot VP
>am actually a 25 year old life-long NEET who lives with my parents
I had to suppress laughter when I watched it with other people. It's an amazing black comedy, but a lot of people (even those who like it) can't get over the violence. In fact the mix of horrific and ridiculous makes it 10x funnier for me.
