Ripley is probably my favorite heroine character, and this scene was so good. Whether it's the motherly role she donned in returning to save the girl against the established alien mother, or something else, it just feels like it was done so right.
Why are you typing like that?
Do you have water on the brain?
>there are redditors that are watching Aliens for the first time because they hated Jew Jews Starshit, and have discovered the magic of Jim Cam
So proud on this day.
Alien = groundbreaking sci-fi horror
Aliens = kickass space marine sci-fi action
Alien 3 = grimdark dystopian sci-fi fantasy
Alien:Resurrection = Bodyshock sci-fi gorefest
Alien:Isolation = Stealth based sci-fi horror video game
>there will never be another franchise so based
Holy shit is that Lord JC?
Assembly Cut is a meme. It's way too long and boring and doesn't do anything to help the movie. It also has unfinished FX and sound, which makes theatrical version a better experience.
>ridley scott made a good film
>cameron made a soulless 80's action movie
xenemorphs are ants now and can be killed as easily
muh marines :DDDDD I hate and love them and include them in my every film!
"ever been mistaken for a man" - who the fuck talks like that, such an obvious setup for a terrible joke delivered by another tuff femdom woman for cameron to fap over
>Hey Vasquez, have you ever been mistaken for a man?
>No, have you?
Why are the women in the Alien series so fucking based?
>a movie so memorable, everyone have stolen from it, including the concept of "le bad ass marines"
>reddit cuck in 2016 thinks the original was unoriginal because he saw marines elsewhere
I was thinking it was little too chubby, but the Abyss was some time ago. It's a film I've always wanted to watch again, but like the copy I have is silly long and its a pretty hard going film
>acknowledging Alien Resurrection as part of the Series
Oh God Im upto having to complete 3 damn captchas
I dont know anon, when there's a directors cut I really find it hard not to watch that one.
The funny thing that yes, they are. But each one is made in such a different way that each one it's own thing. I love this franchise because of that. Not Prometheus tho, fuck Prometheus.
Just how good does Aliens hold up? I only watched it for the first time a few months ago but as far as action movies go I'd consider it superior to almost everything that's churned out nowadays.
Good characters are pretty timeless. Hudson screaming "game over man, game over what teh fuck are we supposed to do now" after the dropship crashes is perfect. Theres so many other sequences like that on top of the main sequences that its a classic film that doesnt really ever not ... not hold up. (its late, ability to english fading)
There's a couple rough visual effects shots, mostly concerning the dropship heading to the atmospheric processor, which is a shame considering it came out 3 years after return of the jedi.
great characters last forever, the computers and tech are kinda dodgy considering where we are now, but you can look past most of it considering it was an industrial setting.
goat on bluray. i don't know why anyone would watch the theatrical cut over the extended edition
Ran a marathon on them recently... Alien held up quite well, mostly because of the atmosphere. Aliens idk it's hard to gauge, because the "badass marine" thing has been so overdone but at least they're space marines. 3 is just sorta there to show you more Ripley development, because all the characters are disposable (literally, as prisoners). 4 is a slight improvement on 3, where you sorta wanna see it play out.
It's different from when I last watched them, but not much... I'd say the first and third held up better than the rest. The 4th used too much CGI to hold up well, and that was in like 97(?).
