Mononoke
The imagery, the tone, the conflict, the heroes... Everything was just perfect for me.
And all the iconic shots like this one.
I appreciate all his films but to me Mononoke feels surreal so it has its own special place

I already listed The Wind Rises. Pretty good movie for usual cinema standards, weak for Miyazaki's standards.
Spirited Away is also not as good as people say, but it is good.

I love all the ones I've seen though honestly Laputa kinda bored me at times because it just felt long.

mononoke is so great. my local theater did a ghibli marathon the other month and i finally got to see it on the big screen, it was fantastic.

Wind Rises is my favourite anime film of all time. I assume that in a few years time when normies forget it exists I'll be allowed to like it again.

Do not understand the love for Porco Rosso, and Nausicaa is actually kind of mediocre. Such a trite two-dimensional fantasy tale despite the beauty of the animation - Mononoke shits all over it.

I watched Spirited Away a month ago and I'm 26 years old.

Why is this shit so highly regarded?
I thought it was garbage and I'm probably wrong... I'd like to see an explanation...

I don't care much for Spirited Away either, it's alright but I feel all it's attention and awards were like a recognition of his lifetime achievements which tends to happen with critics/awards. Mononoke was his absolute peak and masterpiece after so many good/great films.
