>The film, which began production in August 2015, is set between the films Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope. The plot revolves around a band of resistance fighters uniting to steal the plans to the Death Star, the Galactic Empire's planet-destroying battle station. The theft of the Death Star plans was first referenced in the opening crawl in A New Hope.
Will we finally find out how many Bothans died retrieving the plans?
>a cute white girl is the lead character in a Star Wars movie again
im ok with this
>lead star wars characters are now female
There is no point to living anymore.
>another Mary Sue
There were literally tears streaming down my face when I first found out.
>Will we finally find out how many Bothans died retrieving the plans?
I can't wait for this movie to btfo people that can't even remember the plot of the OT that they hold so dear.
>tfw this will probably be shit
>tfw they could've just called up Spielberg and had him do BoB in space
>tfw that will never happen
>thinking the one woman character we know of won't have emotional baggage
>"Empire killed my boyfriend/husband/whatever now I am in the Rebellion against them!"
Not canon and never will be again
>Spielberg doing a BoB style star wars series based on Rebels fighting the Empire
Is that an official poster? Is that supposed to be Felicity Jones?
I think disney will just blow up the bothan homeworld at the start of the movie and we never see a single bothan. fucking hacks.
>planet blows up
>mon martha: " Oh no, many bothans just died"
>*audience erupts into laughter*
Honestly it's fine. I always played through KOTOR2 as a qt3.14 gril with a double bladed lightsaber so if Rey gets one in ep8/9 I'll probably forgive the new trilogy for being shitty in every other way
BOTHANS WERE INVOLVED IN STEALING INFORMATION ABOUT THE SECOND DEATH STAR
THIS MOVIE IS ABOUT THE FIRST DEATH STAR
Is every new flick going to have a woman lead?
Also wtf happened to Kyle Katarn? He's the one who stole the death star plans.
>The theft of the Death Star plans was first referenced in the opening crawl in A New Hope.
Yep. They want to just took thos two paragraphs to make Rogue One
The biggest fuck you is the not-Ithorian in Maz's castle. Turns out to be some genetic offshoot that has a mouth in a normal place and can probably speak basic. Unlike normal Ithorians that have mouths on their necks and use vocalizers to speak basic.
>Rebellion stumbled upon second death star and has an emergency Alliance High Command meeting
>They send Bothans out to get the plans and they mostly die.
The only stole the second Death Star plans you fucking mong. That's what it's been in pure movie-canon; that's how it is with the new Disney canon.
Why is it that every fucking Star Wars movie now is just going to be about humans and human leads? Their is an entire fucking galaxy of aliens to explore but we keep getting humans.
Felicity Jones is a qt.
>>clone wars mentioned in one sentence in passing in ANH
When I was a kid I thought the "Clone Wars" was wars where Jedis fought clones of themselves and was hyped as fuck to see that and it turned out to be dumber than that.
Ending of the main plot will be Rogue One survivors beaming the plans to Tantive IV. Mid-credits scene will be heavily timeskipped to show the woman meeting Luke.
No mid-credit shit for the main movies, but spin-offs are fully possible.
>every Star Wars ending will be someone meeting Luke
>as they hold out some object
>and the camera swirls and pulls away
>BAH BAAAH BAAHHHH
Oddly enough, the ending for VII, even though it hold so many tweeests. And you gotta wait for the next one! Next one! It's really offsetting with how that ending is. And all the other six are.
JJ tried to match the exact same feel with how ANH opened. But couldn't end it the same way.
