This movie was great, why didn't you tell me?
I thought it was awful. Funny at times, but really just awful
have you been living under a rock? it's one of the few movies that /tv/ has an almost unanimous boner for
>>64503972
I tried to but fags like this >>64504010
come in and talk shit about good movies so they can post more star crap.
>>64504015
That's a good enough reason for me to dislike it now. Movie fucking sucks
>>64503972
but we did op
Not as good as the Stallone one.
>>64504042
In what fucking sense?
>>64504015
/tv/ does not have a boner for this movie. /tv/ hates it, like everything else. /co/ has a boner for this movie.
>>64503972
Are you new?
>>64504420
/co/ hates it as it ruins dredd
>>64504042
Almost makes me want to read the comics, but I've hardly ever read any comics.
Is this a good movie to watch with your dad?
>>64504420
Speak for yourself. I remember much salt over the years for the complete lack of hope for a sequel.
Dredd is my to-go comfy movie of the decade.
It was the Mad Max Fury Road of 2012. A simple, well told action movie with great setpieces and no bullshit.
>>64504504
/co/ loves it because it keeps with Dredd entirely
Classic action movie where the hero is overpowered as fuck, so a lot of spectacle with no real tension.
I'd rather follow a protagonist running from a judge or see an antagonist that has already killed a few judges.
>>64504615
i got vol. 1 of the collected case files after loving this movie, i've read the first couple issues and it's pretty lame so far, just really uninteresting "dredd takes down a silly giant monkey robot or generic future punks" short stories.
>>64504681
underrated post
>>64504615
There's some good bits like this one but most of them are bad because comics in general are bad.
>>64505007
I'm no expert, but I believe that's the early stuff and that it picks up later when they start to get a bit edgier.
>>64505074
yeah that's what i figured too but it's been so underwhelming that i can't motivate myself to read further especially since i'm reading hellboy at the same time and that shit is just glorious from the start
>>64505149
Try the Apocalypse War story. It's probably more along the lines of what you're after. The 70s stuff was finding its feet.
>>64505225
alright thanks for the suggestion i'll check it out sometime
>>64504681
This. One was Australian, the other was British. None of that Hollywood bollocks.
I dont know, i didnt love it. If i wanted a dumb action movie like Dredd id just watch the raid or something.
>>64503972
It was all over /tv/ when the BluRay released.
Yeah, it's pretty great. Got me to start reading Judge Dredd.
>>64505225
Yeah, Case Files 1 is not the best place to start.
/co/'s recommendation list is pretty on-point
>>64503972
we did, back in 2012
>>64504681
>>64505033
>>64505962
You fags wouldn't know a good action movie if it jumped up and bit you on the end of your fuckin' dicks.
2000AD needs to feel like a violent Red Dwarf episode, not The Raid: Helmet edition and now with 50% more edge.
>>64506392
Back when members of rock bands showed up in movies for no reason.
>>64506392
Too bad that movie sucks
>>64503972
Dredd is pretty much top tier capeshit...even if no one wears capes in Dredd
It needed more dark humour, but it was a decentglib facsimileof a Verhoeven movie.
>>64503972
Nice aesthetics, but the acting was really terrible at some points
>>64506847
At what points senpai?
>>64506690
No you suck.
Richard Stanley's take on 2000AD was grungy, goofy, violent and weird. Dredd was flashy, bright and took itself far too seriously. It feels like a fast-food version of a AAA action movie rather than a true alternative. I watched Hardware two or three times last year. I watched Dredd twice and have no desire to see it again.
>>64503972
best genre flick in yrs imo
If only they had marketed it as capeshit (which it fundamentally is; see 3000AD), we would be on the third sequel by now.
>>64506882
At acting
>>64504010
Fuck off to reddit then and talk about Progressive Wars dirty shitstaining faggot
Not a Star Wars thread?
Nothing to see here then
/thread
>>64507561
>>64507543
>dislikes my overrated /b/-tier meme movie
>he must be reddit
two blocks that way, faggot
>>64507637
That guy was really dumb
FIRE
>>64507797
I liked her as a villain actually.
>>64507797
I gotta give it props for this little fact, her character is described so little but showing her environment elaborates so much about her as a character, same with alot of them actually.
>>64506927
Hardware is such a piece of shit, it starts out really great, but then just falls apart
>>64503972
Bad action scenes outside the Dredd kitchen fight.
Forgettable world, forgettable characters.
Props for Urban wearing mask through out the movie
but it was really bad movie.
>>64503972
A great movie but I've seen The Raid before so some of its shine wore off.
It still is a charming film.
I'M THE LAW
JURY, JUDGE AND EXECUTIONER
>>64506927
it was as badly written as a heavy metal comic. strip away the set and the story is a cheap early nineties horror flick
>>64509343
>muh story
nice meme opinion, lad
