10 bucks a month isn't much to someone with a job. Netflix has put out some decent content recently and I can see why normal people would be willing to pay rather than mess around with torrents.

Convenience. Netflix is not at all expensive, so its worth it. I also have a crunchyroll subscription but the last few seasons of anime have been terrible so I may cancel.

But if the seeder/uploader legally purchased their content, then it is more akin to sharing if they are not being paid. I torrent ~500GB of movies, programs etc a month and I still have netflix because it's super convenient.
