V > VII > III > IV > VI > I > II
So now that the dust has settled, we can pretty much agree this is the correct patrician order now, right?
We can all agree that Empire is the best. Force Awakens is just a better version of A New Hope and Sheev elevates Revenge of the Sith over the inferior version of Force Awakens (Episode IV)
oh fuck I missed VI
V > IV = VII > III = VI >> II >>>>>> I
I watched them all again a few months ago in preparation for TFA and man I will literally never watch TPM again. What a fucking boring movie to watch.
I'll admit that the only reason II loses to I is that my eyes were more open by then.
Nostalgia dominates the OT for me, but I still think that V is "objectively" the best movie, along with the one I remember most fondly.
V also wasn't ruined by the special edition content like IV or VI were
Official patrician ranking
5 > 4 > 6 > 3 > power gap > 7 = 2 = 1
>the III is not only not total shit but actually a good movie meme
Explain. It was just as boring and frustrating as the other ones except this one said "fuck it" more than the others when tieing everything together.
it's a masterpiece of unintentional comedy with some great scenes like Padme's Ruminations and The Tragedy of Darth Plagueis
it's also much less infantile than the other two prequels
>there are people who genuinely believe the OT isn't miles ahead of everything that came after
whole heartedly agree with this ranking
While yes Ep. I was kinda bad, I really liked the atmosphere. It felt the most like the original. Ep. II is objectively unredeemable shit.
VII was good except for the blatant pandering to nostalgic "nerds"
Don't be an idiot, II is worse by far because all of its characters suck and the dialogue is horrifyingly cringeworthy. It also has the ugliest green screen "sets" in the history of movies.
Death Star II was lazy but made some sense as a trap. Ewoks were badly handled and most of the Battle of Endor in the forest was horrible, should've been Chewie leading some wookie commandos like Russians/Chinese supporting primitive gooks. But I don't think the Ewoks were completely terrible outside the battle itself. And yeah, Han should've died in V. But having said all that, the Jabba scenes, Yoda/Dagobah, Emperor/Vader, stormtrooper speeders, Lando/Battle of Endor in space, and Luke vs. Vader/Emperor confrontation, were all great. And those are like 75% of the movie. The highs by themselves greatly outweigh the abysmal lows and general mediocrity of everything post-OT.
That would only be true if Revenge of the Sith was nothing but a Training Day rip off with Sheev and Anakin cruising around the galaxy getting wicked as fuck. As it is, based Sheev can't fix the overwhelming nightmarishly bad failure of the rest of the film. Anakin isn't seduced, he's retarded. Padme dying is inexplicable. It ends like shit. NOOOOOOOOO was both frustrating and hilarious. The actual plot was an extended period of whogivesashit while we stumble our way to the inevitable conclusion.
