I'll admit that the only reason II loses to I is that my eyes were more open by then.

Nostalgia dominates the OT for me, but I still think that V is "objectively" the best movie, along with the one I remember most fondly.

Death Star II was lazy but made some sense as a trap. Ewoks were badly handled and most of the Battle of Endor in the forest was horrible, should've been Chewie leading some wookie commandos like Russians/Chinese supporting primitive gooks. But I don't think the Ewoks were completely terrible outside the battle itself. And yeah, Han should've died in V. But having said all that, the Jabba scenes, Yoda/Dagobah, Emperor/Vader, stormtrooper speeders, Lando/Battle of Endor in space, and Luke vs. Vader/Emperor confrontation, were all great. And those are like 75% of the movie. The highs by themselves greatly outweigh the abysmal lows and general mediocrity of everything post-OT.

make VII equal III instead of VI and we have a deal.

That would only be true if Revenge of the Sith was nothing but a Training Day rip off with Sheev and Anakin cruising around the galaxy getting wicked as fuck. As it is, based Sheev can't fix the overwhelming nightmarishly bad failure of the rest of the film. Anakin isn't seduced, he's retarded. Padme dying is inexplicable. It ends like shit. NOOOOOOOOO was both frustrating and hilarious. The actual plot was an extended period of whogivesashit while we stumble our way to the inevitable conclusion.
