a depiction of mississippi backwoods life during the 1960s centered on the daughter of a moonshine runner and her moral conflict between the changing social climate of america and her conservative upbringing. shailene woodley is the lead actress
in a weyland yutani future, a corporate drone starts mutating, discovers he's actually an alien, and gets exiled. more people start mutating and joining him in a condemned space colony, including [love interest]. eventually the space cops raid the colony and kill everyone. nothing is explained.
90s nostalgia wankfest about two youths who fall in love but one has an eating disorder and the other is a drug addict.
The movie ends with the anorexic boy recovering and he's at a healthy weight for the first time in the movie, but the drug addicted girl can't escape her dependency and while she doesn't die, she becomes a junky and he realises he can't save her. It's very bitter sweet.
>>64500720 Fuck me. I got scared that i can't direct, and if i was given opportunity, i would just fuck it up. The worst thing is i've never wanted to be a director. I mean, until few days ago, when this weird feeling occured to me.
Anyway, how can i learn to direct, without going to filmschool, or whatever it's called?
Movie: >A western slasher movie about a guy who steals from a crime lord and strolls into his town. Flashback stories are told to the traveler about crime lord who ends the movie hunting him down like the stories for stealing from him at the start.
TV Show: > A drama following a post WW2 Japanese Sumo fighting with a stable run by a young yakuza war veteran and his friend who fix a few matches and expand some criminal influence.
Both could be really neat i rekon.
Japanese crime culture is criminally underdramatized.
You know the first half of Wall-E with the two robots? Its basically that but in rural backwater Germany between a gypsy girl (like... 8 year old?) and a German boy from a nazi family displaced by the war. They don't speak the same language but they try to survive in the wilderness and stealing from villages. They're not really aware of the dangers they face, the boy kind if gets it so he has to goad her into not giving away their location, but she's pretty oblivious. Eventually he realises that without a family and lacking the suoer Aryan traits of his family, if he's caught with her, he'll be sent to camps too. They come very close to being caught but see the entire thing as a game. The movie ends where it's really ambiguous as to whether they're going to get captured or not.
>>64500720 >Played out against the backdrop of the city of Hong Kong during the passing from British to Chinese administration. >Dark and wide cinematic shots of the city. Set around 1995-99, characters driving authentic British cars from the era like Jags or a Rolls Royce. >It stars Jackie Chan as a retiring Hong Kong police chief who teams up with a flamboyant British political operative and millionaire businessman played by Ricky Gervais. >Late 90's pop thats gone into relative obscurity for the soundtrack. >The buddy-duo of Jackie and Ricky will misleadingly get the audience into the theatre expecting slapstick only to get cold drama and dark, ironic humor. >Jackie plays a quiet and existential role depicting a character diagnosed with cancer and will be about his characters place in an aging world, his wife died many years before and his only daughter has gone to study at Oxford. >While he quietly contemplates death, the action of the flick will substitute the expected physical fighting action for authentic car chase scenes, and the characters will only use guns and don't physically engage. >There will only be one explosion and it kills off Ricky Gervais' character >That character has zero depth and naively insists upon questioning the virtues of a purely scientific life, unaware of Jackies terminal cancer >sorrowful and unresponsive Jackie meets him with reservation and disdain >Jackie is shot in the climax >After waking up in hospital he finds that the British have left and the Chinese gangsters are dead >they have all been replaced by a cold system of bureaucrats and administrators. >The Chinese characters don't speak much and are depicted as brutal and vicious thugs while the English are seen as pompous, cruel and callous individuals >In the final scene Jackie kills himself alone in his Hong Kong high-rise apartment, using morphine pills and his handgun while watching news coverage of Tony Blair shaking hands with the Chinese premier.
Part 1 follows a schizoid who wants friends but fails due to his own ineptitude towards socialising from prolonged loneliness. Other factors put stress on his life which causes total rejection of society
Part 2 is when he eventually takes to the road as the film becomes a road film, ending with a high speed chase to a planned suicide crashing against something ironic.
Part 3 Is how people who he socialised with before start having a different take on his life due to the dramatic circumstances. The death of the main character has him become a cult figure, where people try to respect him post mortem rather than while he was still alive. He is remembered by the people he tried to come into contact with and no others
Film noir, wanted to do the soundtrack myself with minimalist guitar playing
Movie 1: Warrior is from is a tribe that values sacrificing your life in battle to truly fulfill yourself. This warrior is extremely strong, so he never loses any fights against anyone in his tribe or rival tribes. In order to satisfy his death wish, he goes on a pilgrimage to find the worthy death he craves. As he travels through this very stylized land that is not necessarily earth, he begins to gain an appreciation for life rather than craving death.
Movie 2: Completely mute knight who is fucking massive and rarely takes off his helmet travels the land for his pilgrimage. It's never really clarified what the goal of the pilgrimage is. The movie ends with him still on his journey. He's more of a feature of the landscape than anything. The movie shows the lives and events of the people he passes by and that's the focus. The shifting world around him. It's slightly implied in the background that the knight is immortal and the journey seen in the movie has lasted hundreds of years.

Are you hoping to cast Viggo or is it more of a Ryan Gosling project?
An entire concept movie made against the soundtrack of my favourite album
The highs and lows would follow the songs in order and certain events would happen to the beat of songs, like an hour long music video. The songs will either drown out all sounds or play mistfully in the background
>>64501991 I'd actually like to watch a film about the descent of a bitter and socially isolated autist university drop-out who slowly wastes away trapped in a longing and unfulfilled existence. Long shots depicting him whiling away the hours in-front of a screen, blasting a nostalgic egdelord late 90's-early 2000's soundtrack. His character constantly observes perceived social chaos but is actually trapped in a personal downward spiral that makes the world appear much harsher than reality. It could be like a modern Taxi Driver if it was done with the right director and lead actor.
>>64500720 i want to rewrite sunshine so that everything that happens and everyones deaths are the result of kappas decision to go after icarus1, which was the right thing to do, erase any trace of pinbacker, and leave everything else the same.
A middle school teacher who kinda sucks at her job bonding with a kid in her class while dealing with a crumbling relationship due to a miscarriage. It wouldnt be one of those movies that ends on a shitty note but it is not supposed to be uplifting.
A teenage girl is seduced by her track coach and they engage in an inappropriate relationship that ultimately escalates to the girl wanting out but is too intimidated. The twist being that the coach is a girl and the main character never once has believed herself to be a lesbian. Critics would be too afraid to criticize it, probably would end up calling it American Blue is the warmest color or something like that because of the intimate sex scenes, but it would be totally different themes. It would deal with the grey area that sexual encounters can fall in, PTSD, and of course sexuality. Tumblr crowd would love it. Ideal casting is Chloe Grace Moretz and Emma Stone because i am waifu loving cancer
>After the first siege of Jerusalem, the crusader George is instructed to take the Spear of Destiny to the Vatican. However on the way to Europe his ship crashes on an island town held hostage by a cult of Mammon. When an avatar of the dark Prince breaks through to the realm of man, George must defeat the dragon to end the suffering of innocents.
My brother and i always joked about directing and starring in a movie about a demon/monster called Ramhead that stalked the woods of Tennessee/North Carolina. ITs a pretty basic monster, think Lord Humungus with a Rams Head. Lots of Satanic shit goes on. One of the main things is that the shockingly brutal violence he commits is supposed to be morbidly funny, especially because he is so clearly stronger than anything from this world you wonder why he even bothers. Anyway, main plot is basic horror shit where he captures a girl that he plans to prepare for sacrifice to his master, and the shenanigans he gets into with hikers.
>>64503568 the not so distant twilight years of space travel becoming more accessible. master and commander in space with realistic aspects from current tech. basically eliminate all the campiness from sci fi making it boring as fuck. make it happen mayne
I actually had a dream last night about a movie starring John Malkovich and Jennifer Lawrence. JLaw played a conservative young actress who runs into Malkovich's character after a play she starred in. He's also an actor and invites her to a play that he's starring in that opens the next day. In his play he plays the devil who's trying to seduce some young girl for whatever reason. It was a dream so details are missing. JLaw is not appreciative of the subject matter and lets Malkovich know about it but ultimately they end up fucking because Malkovich really was the devil and manages to seduce JLaw. I woke up right when he was about to stick it in her butt.
>start with the normie humour (lol virgin autist etc etc) >rattle off some statistics >dive into history, interviews about their upbringing, life changing events, bullying etc >build sympathy >end with a sad story (one of my wizards will have to take one for the team and soduko, i will be the only one at his funeral, with my camera)
Anna Kendrick ventures back into more dramatic roles in this movie about a CIA agent who is determined to rescue an American citizen lost in Southeast Asia in the midst of a violently anti american revolt. Imagine Argo but with Anna Kendrick and a lot more violence and tension. Predicted RT score 23%
>>64504057 do some world building. always the best step. >earth overcrowded and barren wasteland of skyscrappers and shit >everyone who is on good terms with government gets to leave for space station colonies as the slums and planets varying in quality for the richer folk >they plan to make old earth like australlia where its inhabitants are all ex prisoners. >dystopia on earth with shitty government elected by people that just killed and manipulated to the top >protags aren't good people just smart criminals who found a way to get off rock >found way to make living stealing from freighters
>A comedian/actor gets accused of rape by several women whom he rejected years ago. This turns into a media frenzy as videos of his angry rants about women receive attention. The film follows him on his tour as he breaks down as the world turns more and more against him. The movie climaxes with him coming out of the closet (which he kept a secret out of personal wish to be known for his comedy, not a label) but the damage is already done and nobody believes him. It ends with him getting home and falling asleep sobbing in the arms of his boyfriend.
They already made mine: Be Kind Rewind. Only mine had some kid running around with a magnet instead of Jack Black being magnetized. Then F is for Family took the idea of the kid in store with magnet, so now i don't know what to do. Guess i'll go gamble.
