>Build a 3d lightsaber and customize pommels, hilts, blades, switches, etc
It's fun shit, have at it nigs
Why don't you have some fun and make a saber anon
too much going on/10\
Did /tg/ invade? I remember that thread being there the last time I checked.
In a duel with another light saber, a two hand length hilt will always be better as it will give an advantage of leverage over a single hand user. Since the blades are weightless, this is necessary.

The point is that with that degree of control had by both sides, the difference given by a physical item such as leverage is negligible.
The force allows you to exert 1000 units of control over your blade. An extra ten or so from leverage won't make a real difference.
Then explain why they use light sabers at all. If their amount of 'force usage' is the only thing that matters then jedi and sith would just stand there force choking each other until one dies.
Yet as evidenced by the movies, and pretty much everything else, force users train extensively in light saber fighting techniques.
Why would they do this and make it their iconic weapon if it conferred no advantage beyond their regular abilities?
It does convey an advantage, the blade does. However, the amount of control exerted over the blade is another question entirely- and is a question that is easily answered through the force.
So why do they train in so many different techniques? If it doesn't matter, like you're suggesting, then a light saber duel wold never happen.
One combatant would sense the other is stronger in the force, and knowing he could not win, would retreat.
Technique clearly matters or else every jedi and sith who've ever trained with a light saber were wasting their time and are less educated on force usage than you are.
Yes, technique matters (Though strength of technique is often affected by relation with the force) but we're talking about control of the lightsaber, a separate matter entirely. And one can control the lightsaber with the force to a degree where all the leverage in the world won't increase your abilities. Technique, being a separate item, will.
>And one can control the lightsaber with the force to a degree where all the leverage in the world won't increase your abilities.
>Technique, being a separate item, will.
You're attempting to take away 'leverage' out of techniques. You simply can't. Its completely integral to combat with melee weapons. They are one in the same.
A 'technique' that follows what you describe would be one that completely avoids every blow and the weapons would never make contact. As evidenced by the movies, this isn't how light saber battles are fought.
>You're attempting to take away 'leverage' out of techniques. You simply can't.
But you can. One's understanding of how and where to strike is different than the physical capability to apply x many Newtons to a particular point on the blade. Physical capability and Understanding are the 2 main different points here- and they make the distinction between Leverage and technique, respectively. The physical capability to apply x many newtons is made so great by the force that the length of the lightsaber doesn't even make too much of a notable difference.
TL;DR: The force works in ways that are fucking inexplicable now let's end this the autism is enough already t. alberto barbosa
who needs a lights saber, just beat the fuck out of them with a stick
Here we go
I like it oldschool, elegant and simple.
>looks exactly like Anakin's, an edgy teen faggot
yeah. no. looks actually more like darth vaders.
>has huge grooves and tumors all over it
are you talking about yourself?
I am sorry that I don't have female hands.
Thank you, I am a simple man with simple tastes
Reposting my supreme gentleman at day but dark twisted psychopath at night sabre
I didn't want anything too fancy. Also, are there jedis with red sabers? I don't know why my favourite color has to be exclusive of the bad boys.
Kylo Ren only gets down with a CARBON FIBER Light Sabers
I tried so hard but in the end it doesn't even matter
althoug these look edgy, they look cool irl
I like the way they look, but I guess I'm just an edgefag. Here's one I made.
For a big guy.
Fuck that post your blaster-fu.
I really hope they're not gonna made orange a dark-side exclusive color now.
Had a Grey jedi in mind
silver master race reporting
thanks i tried to make it look aesthetically appeasing while functional. This saber would fit thematically in the original trilogy (i found the prequels to have a more eloquent and eastern style to them) as one of lukes students who gets killed by kylo. notice how i had the colors fade from bright to dark as it draws to the handle.
I always loved those ugly little brass knobs & boxes n shit on the original sabers.
I dunno i think with light sabers your just asking to have your saber diced the fuck up after a parry.
You also limit your range of motion in hallways like in fortresses, and spaceships where jedi/sith always seem to be fighting for control. you'd obviously gain an advantage in fighting out in the open.
How did I do? I wish there were better parts available for a handguard, I was considering using the graflex emitter for that reason but it looked too much like Luke/Anakin's design then.
i like lukes emitter part for some reason, always have
I really liked Obi-Wan's first saber and the Praetor hilt from Jedi Academy.
