Hasbrofags will defend this
I don't think he can form a dragon on his own.
>>6437127
Is this the dollar store toy thread?
What is the best TR deluxe?
>>6437147
Hot Rod
>>6437147
>>6437149
No its triggerhappy
>>6437156
Triggerhappy was hands down the best deluxe until a wave later when Topspin arrived.
>>6437127
What does the front look like?
>>6437144
Yes. Congratulations. You saw through the ruse. This is totally the dollar toy store thread despite the thread title clearly being labeled a "Transformers General"
Bravo. Simply, bravo.
>>6437127
>>lol effort.
Start up a third party production, then.
>>6437167
That is the front
>>6437170
Funny, it actually looks better from the back...
>>6437127
>Hasbrofags will defend this
I will. First of all, hollowness might be needed for transformation.
Secondly, filling it out would probably blow the budget for a Leader class figure.
>>6437127
That's the dragon combiner where basically the entire fucking dragon is one one bot and the tail is on the other?
>>6437175
Secondly, we had beast wars figures with hollow shit and nobody cared because we were fucking kids when it came out.
>ITT: poorfags who can't afford anything but dollar-store Hasbroshit, despite the other, far superior MP/3P options available in the market
>>6437168
Go home, Warden.
>>6437161

Gotta go with Triggerhappy or Hardhead

>>6437127
>Will there be other toys in the Slugslinger wave?
>Yes but they will all be repackaged characters. I do not remember which characters are repackaged however Slugslinger is the only new character in that wave and the final new toy from the Titans Return line

Fuck Warden
>>6437193
If not him, someone else.
>>6437200
Archer >>> Warden
Oh wait I'm talking with someone who loves babby toys
>>6437127
The hell we will! That looks like shit!
>>6437202
Archer was more hands on with Armada, which were babby toys. By 2009 he was more in a management position, not designing
>>6437199
It pisses me off he cancelled the other sets.
I still want a Frenzy and Eject....and Iron Bomber.
*sigh* I'll just get the Takara figure then.
>>6437206
Godbomber is proof that takara can also lose.
>>6437127
No we won't. Most of the movie toys are shit. We all know it. That's why people made such a big deal about the Megatron toys. Finally had a movie toy that wasn't complete rubbish.
>>6437127
what is that, a container robot?
>>6437208
You can't lose if nobody else is competing.
>>6437206
Well, we already got Frenzy. It's Rumble we're missing.
>>6437221
POINT IS.
I WANT THE BLUE DUDES.
Takara come on, give me the blue one.
i also want a Eject cause i think he's underrated.
>>6437204
I'd choose armada over all these shitty CWTRPOTPCHUG
>Last wave is just Slugslinger
>No clue on how we'll get TR Arcee (they'll probably repurpose the last box sets as Hascon exclusives to piss everyone off)
>No Eject and the blue one
Man, this line just fizzed out by the end, that's just pathetic. It doesn't help that wave 5 is barely including new figures as is.
>>6437147
When the heck is Masterpiece Bumblebee supposed to get a US release?
Anyone ask that at SDCC?
>>6437242
Supposedly a tru exclusive.
...that said its already in local Australian retail as a zing store exclusive (part of eb games/gamestop chain), don't worry you'll get your yellow camaro soon enough
>>6437244
I hope so. My TRU is scalper central.
>>6437229
>Hascon exclusive
Didn't think of that. And since Arcee isn't part of the standard retail wave, we can kiss any chance of her toy being heavily retooled good bye, expect Nautica 2.0.
WeiJiang KO Brawl
>>6437248
>>6437245
My TRU is empty shelves central. Don't know which is worse.
>>6437250
>>6437247
The card art showed that she at least had the two, I don't know what to call them, "obtrusions" on her back. That's something the Blurr mold lacks. Maybe they just plug in like the turbines on Nautica's arms?
So there's minimal retooling if anything.
>>6437254
In time. We're already getting Bonecrusher LC from another KO company.
>>6437258
To be fair they've only done extensive retooling with three movie characters. Megs was just OS'd.
>>6437229
>>No Eject and the blue one
This bothers the fuck out of me.
Is Takara gonna do a release of them?
Takara never even did a release of the red one. Only Rewind.
>>6437255
I'm just not confident on her turning out well after the art on the Velocitron set being completely inaccurate to Laser Prime (who's based on the original G2 Laser Rod OP), and Nautica who barely had anything of her toy.
>>6437253
>>6437258
Oh I see more.
>Possible moving treads
MY DICK
>>6437255
>not knowing how the blurr mold works
The shield is also the nose cone for brainstorm, yes the shield is removable, but you have the option of leaving the shield/vehicle on the front DURING transformation keeping blurr/brainstorm parts-form free if one desires.
Meaning an arcee retool would keep this feature as well by just changing that front end/shield section

>>6437265
Reminds me of their Hound's toes.
>>6437143
Twelve knights supposedly form one dragon. I would have liked that, but no, apparently that was too much to ask.
Is it time to give up hope on Blue (Rumble/Frenzy) from Takara?
>>6437268
That's possible as Legends class. I mean they DID do it with ROTF Devy and still had the bots as triple changers
>>6437268
It's 12 and 9, at the end, at least 3 knights are killed and they still form the dragon no problem.
>>6437269
Takara will do one first if Hasbro has no plans otherwise like Funpub they'll wait for Hasbro's to do it.
>>6437274
Takara might just do the Blue one eventually, Eject isn't really that popular so he might not get a release.
That being said, I never thought I'd see the day that even simple recolors that people wanted would not get released. That's laziness to a whole new level.
>>6437278
recolors cost money and Hasbro's tf division seems to sink more of their money into brand new molds over recolors so you have more repacks instead now. same deal with deluxes like mindwipe, perceptor, wolfire and rodimus or voy like galvatron.
>>6437274
I hate being that guy, i miss FunPub now.
I miss having more unique characters and repaints.
>>6437285
Maybe I'm just stupid because I don't get that. It's literally the same guy in new colors, the packaging could be exactly the same, save for the art character and figure being in new colors.
Cost wise redeco>retool>new figure, you just slap new colors and there ya go.
They could of had the blue guy come in during this wave and the current wave's legends just so people would get the artificial sense that they're getting a new figure same for eject and yet...they didn't, opting to just do a repack.
Wasn't hasbro the ones who said they were committed to completing sets, hence why we got kickback for the insecticons, they completed the leader seekers despite all else, so WHAT IN THE LIVING FUCK is happening, the only possibly sane reason why they have yet to happen is they're trying to spread out their releases so people would buy into the new lines, hence why POTP is reusing TR and CW engineering.
Its the only explanation that makes sense, initially I was gonna argue with an anon but he's right, redecos and recolors cost money and the best way to make people buy into newer lines is to just hold things back.
As for takara's purposes lets just hope they don't jump the gun and do an e-hobby release, we're thankful we got ravage and laserbeak (which are more prominent) but to deny the whole family is upsetting
>>6437248
Holy fuck. And here I was sad that i'd sold off my Hasbro Brawl.
>own platinum edition hot rodimus because I've always liked that outdated mold
>own mp hot rod because I like the design
>don't own mp rodimus prime because that's stupid
>initially skipped tr hotrod because of proportions but legends kup made me pull the trigger just so they match (i don't need another gen arcee or cw UM from their platinum sets)
>now a leader rodimus prime exist but apprehensive because muh trailer battle station gimmick
Someone, help me, I don't even like cuck rod, if only the voyager seeker was good so I can continue being a seeker fag
>>6437294
At this point I think it's clear the only money they have is to release old material (like Cosmos) and the money needed to recolor old product is just not there and that they have sunk most of it into creating new product which is by far a much more expensive and painstaking process.
>>6437295
>Cost wise: rerelease>redeco>retool>new figure

I really love the fact that RID Windblade's sword can attach to Hardhead like that. I think it can also attach to Laser Prime but it doesn't look as good.
Has a Grimlock ever been made from a BW Megatron type mold? It seems like a solid idea and something that people would buy.
>>6437364
Yes, T-Wrecks bio pretty much describes Grimlock, and that uses the BW Megatron mold.
Alright Artfire anon, I came into some money and now I want this guy. Since you are responsible for this, I demand you answer this:
>Where are any potential rub points?
>Is there any Diecast?
>Can he hold other Masterpiece accessories?
>Can other masterpieces hold Nightstick?
>>6437147
Hardhead/Quake
>>6437372
Not him but
>Where are any potential rub points?
Undersides of the feet are painted black and that's pretty much it as long as you're careful trasforming him
>Is there any Diecast?
None
>Can he hold other Masterpiece accessories?
Yes, he has the standard MP hand connectors
>Can other masterpieces hold Nightstick?
Yes, Nightstick has a standard MP gun handle
>>6437377
Not him, but does Nightbeat come with an alternate 5mm handle for normal figures?
>>6437391
Nope, he only has an MP gun handle and a special clip that lets him attach to Artfire's arm in place of a nozzle gun
>>6437377
I am him, and thanks pal
>>6437392
Damn.
i found a Leader Movie Megatron before a Voyager and i bought him. Should I have waited for the Voyager and saved $20?
>>6437242
>When the heck is Masterpiece Bumblebee supposed to get a US release?
>>TRU Exclusive
>>twice as much as Japanese versions
>>probably will never see it anyways
How are the American Masterpiece releases suppose to help us again
>>6437439
By realizing that it's 100% easier to just get the Japanese version and tell the Hasbro bean counters to fuck off.
Not entirely TF-related, but is there any chance in hell of Takara ever revisiting Brave?
I've been messing around with my Brave Masterpiece Exkaiser for the last hour and while I love that toy to bits it's really deteriorating. All the glue and seams have started to turn a kind of dirty brown all over, the chrome is ageing, little Exkaiser's joints are starting to loosen up, one of the feet on King Roader refuses to transform properly to form the trailer hitch, the paint on the diecast parts is chipping off. It's a crying shame watching a toy age like this, especially when it was bought directly from Japan unopened and stored in a glass cabinet, and really babied on the few occasions I did play around with it. Been considering buying a second in the hopes I get one that hasn't aged as badly, but even MISB I guess there's no guarantee.
>>6437287
FUCK YOU
>>6437458
Maybe I'm biased since I bought a bunch of BotCon repaints at TFCon last weekend.
Found this while looking at trypticon images because I'm a sadist using the sticker sheet.
How mad would you be if this retool comes true?
>>6437457
Pretty slim, they aren't that great at exploring their old IPs outside of Transformers. Most of the nostalgia milking in Transformers is also due to Hasbro's involvement. Besides, they don't wholly-own the rights to Braves, unlike Diaclone or Microman. And even for something belonging to them i.e. Zoids, they don't do much with it besides licensing it to everyone.
It's probably more realistic to hope for a Bandai SOC or those Vulcanlog Sentinel things.
>>6437350
Hey hey, good choice, good choice.
>>6437472
not even mad if they just fix the hips
>>6437466
Buying botcon toys make you stupid, not biased.
>>6437147
Hardhead. It's the only toy in the entire line where the headmaster gimmick is actually fun.
>>6437472
Only mildly upset because the idea of an Omega Supreme retool of Overlord is becoming increasingly appealing to me the more i think about it.
>>6437486
>SOC Exkaiser
I'd do unspeakable things for that to be a reality but honestly I just don't think there's enough interest in the old Brave series for it to happen. GaoGaiGar is probably the only thing Bandai are ever going to make in that regard.

I always liked the G1 designs the best but let's not pretend we wouldn't be all over an MP Armada Prime that gave the figure actual functioning articulation in both regular and combined modes.
>>6437127
Fucking Hasbro. This pretty much shows that the outdated "size class plastic content limit" paradigm needs to be consigned to the garbage bin of history where it belongs.

>>6437589
Fuuuuck my preorders can't come in fast enough. Where the fuck are they, Hasbro? Fucking asian countries have had this shit for weeks now.
>>6437601
Point of the design? You mean "robot geisha"? Because she looks a fuckton better with the TR geisha face paint. Besides, fat geisha are best for sheathing your meat katana into.
>>6437589

not really.
>>6437604
>strong female character
>make her resemble a woman whose sole purpose is to serve men in feudal japan

>>6437616
As opposed to the one on the left where her head is massive, right?
Also the head looks fine. It's the wings and shit behind her that make her torso look bigger in that picture but her proportions look fine to me.
>>6437624
You have no idea, man.
I made a mistake
>>6437633
Clearly, because your picture is sideways.
>>6437604
>acting like the TR is the only one with a a good face
People somehow forget that Takara fixed the fucked up Hasbro face, but I guess that doesn't matter when there is the"SO EXTRA THICC MEME AND MOE FACE UGUUUU" TR version
>>6437642
>but I guess that doesn't matter when there is the"SO EXTRA THICC MEME AND MOE FACE UGUUUU" TR version
Pretty much. Not gonna lie, I like my women a little thick, and the face is easily the best she's gotten so far. It's a good figure. Not perfect, but easily the best Windblade has had, other than a smaller-than-Legends-sized 3P figure with a real kawaii uguu face.
>>6437653
>3P figure with a real kawaii uguu face
I really really want to like that figure but her odd mushy non-nondescript animu face kills it for me. I wish they'd release her with a more realistic face too, then I'd be all over it.
>>6437659
Eh, I'm all for the stylized kawaii uguu face, especially on such a tiny figure. It's meant to be cute, and it is. Their Arcee has the same face, so it's just a style choice thing for them obviously, and I really don't mind that being a thing, especially since we're never getting stuff like that from official sources.
>>6437295
My guess is that they're planning to repaint TR Blaster and Soundwave for POTP, so they're saving those cassettes to go along with them.
>>6437571
I'm glad others liked this idea as well. Sadly, I doubt it will happen now.
>>6437598
>Minicon nopes the fuck out
Kek
>>6437161
Damn, is he worth buying? Are there any flaws?
>>6437682
Yes, he's worth buying. Easily one of the best Deluxes in a line filled with great Deluxes. Only flaw I've heard of is apparently, some people got some misassembled on the thighs, which doesn't actually prevent it from transforming, but the knee doesn't bend as far as a result.
Mine doesn't have that flaw.
>>6437690
Was there an image pointing out the difference? If I've gotta shelf-hunt for it I wanna go in educated.
>>6437629
>As opposed to the one on the left where her head is massive, right?
It's not "massive." That's the size her head is supposed to be.
>Also the head looks fine
No it doesn't. It's too small because they had to shove the shitty gimmick in.
>>6437711
it looks fine to me
>>6437693
I don't know if there is. It didn't seem like a common issue, either. Only heard about it a few threads ago and the figure has been out for a while now. Just look at the white thigh bits, they'll be reversed if it's assembled wrong.
Here's what it'll look like if it's assembled correctly, see the pointy bit on the inner thigh's hollow section, how they both point back? Thats the correct assembly far as I know.
>>6437720
congrats, you're blind
What's the most one should pay for misb Hasbro Fort max? this is the cheapest one on ebay. Would I fare better in B/S/T? I live in the netherlands and he never hit stores here
>>6437736
Same poster, he doesn't necessarily have to be misb.
Perfect thread, thought I'd give a heads up to the dads who buy their kid's love with toys: the 20 dollar boxed guys are cheaper shit than the normal 15 dollar guys.
>>6437720

>>6437741

>>6437771

>>6437775
It's one of those guys where they just fold up under a truck shell. The truck is a generic suv. After spending tons on the 15 dollar guys over the years, this one seems like the extra 5 bucks just went to the box. Thought it'd be like a smaller version of the bigger higher quality guys.
>>6437765
Looking with it, or at it? Gotta be careful since that Arcee debacle.
>>6437788

I really hope so, that'd be best case sceneario for me.
it's weird they didn't do them already.
>>6437788
I was considering getting one just because it's a generic SUV nobody would pay much thought to since I really like it when transformer have boring altmodes but it doesn't seem to be a good transformer.
Altmodes are supposed to be camouflage after all, makes no sense to pick an extremely rare race car like a fucking Lancia Stratos Turbo or a goddamn Concept Stingray when trying to pass unnoticed.
>>6437677

>>6437822

>>6437834

>>6437845
Some might have been pushed by scalpers to only get the TR/Legends but nobody stopped them from pre-ordering/ordering any of the Takara reissues through HLJ/Amiami/Mandarake/CDJapan/Amazon/etc.
>>6437855
Damn, Warden, you can't even excel at fucking up.
>>6435546
So I ended up getting Voyager Prime and what the hell, this is actually a really solid figure, at the very least for the miserable post-DotM standards. The robot sculpt is amazing, it really feels like the closest they could possibly come up with from the shortcomings of a design that's obviously not made considering his vehicle mode, the paintjob is far from being the worst in the line and the transformation is even surprisingly complex. If something the truck mode looks bland and cheap as hell, the lack of transparent windows and painted rims really hurt his alt mode aesthetics, but it's not like I'll ever leave him in that mode either.
Oh well, time to sharpie him up for those sweet extra details.
>>6437682
mine had really loose shoulders
>>6437604
the point of the design is to look like a stylized girl, not a brick with a lady face
>>6437472
I don't really see how the base mode would work
It would need a complete remold of the torso, and at that point, only tryps legs would be functionally present, everything else is new.
Retooling ft max and hiding the tracks in his legs makes more sense.
>>6437855
>It would most likely be box sets.
Hopefully they keep putting them out next year, nothing says they couldn't do more next year....right?
>>6437944
Stay tuned.
Anyone got Beachcomber pics
>>6437391
>expecting 3rd party thoughtfulness from takara
>>6437867
Aw man, it's almost insulting to see how much better a figure can get by literally just sharping a little bit of bronze, silver and gold on a few specific areas. Would it really be that hard to do that straight out of the factory, Hasbro?
>>6438006
>Would it really be that hard to do that straight out of the factory, Hasbro?
I'm gonna sound like a shill, but honestly, yeah. Small touch ups like that would require really precise, hand applied paint applications, which would raise the price and take more time to do. Granted, I'd also say its worth it.
So the leader class megatron has retarded down syndrome nubby weird hands which is awful because the rest of the mold looks pretty good.
>forced headmasters are finally gone
>new toyline that combines previous two gimmicks in a good way that's also ignorable

Sure, but there have always been movie figures with detailed paint applications, like just about every Decepticon from the first film. It doesn't have to be hand painted either, computers can do incredibly precise paint apps nowadays.
Also, have I dun goofed by painting the sword and shield with bronze and gold? I ran out of silver sharpie before getting there, hence why the legs are also so plain ;-;

I don't think most Brave fans would be on my side because they might have been spoiled by the SOCs but I'd love a simple-ish redux of Brave mechs.
I remember having the KOs of Might Gaine, Land Bison, and Sky Saber before having any transformer and I've been wanting new figures of them for a while for some reason.
A Genesic GaoGaiGar would be great if they never do that, though, I like that design way better than the normal GaoGaiGar.

>>6437457
>>6438092
I would love a Brave classics line. Somethin with the heft of the TF Cybertron figures, even the simplicity, with better articulation and some nice engineering for combining figures. Not even old designs, there could be a new Brave or Brave style series. I wish Takara remolded Combiner Wars, made them more robust(no gaps, better paint) and made a new Brave style line.

I ran into this via the retweets of Japanese users on Twitter. A men's comic magazine called "Young GanGan" has published a one-shot story about... a girl who's been buying too many Transformers off Amazom.com...?
https://twitter.com/yg_gangan/status/888358653031440385
https://mobile.twitter.com/yg_gangan/status/888352198467375104
Per automatic translations, the tweets go out of their way to promote TakaraTomy's supervision, and there's a (c) TOMY copyright stamp on the frontispiece. That's pretty official!
The kanji of the writer/artist's name suggests they're Yamazaki Doudou, whose work previously appeared in Young GanGan. I have no idea what the actual content of the story is, but the magazine did offer an apology on its website for an art error - a shipping box accidentally overlapped Drift's shoulder instead of him appearing in front of it.

I've been watching BWII, and it's kind of hilarious how blatant this show is about shilling the newest products. Seriously, it's like you can almost predict the releases for most of these guys.
-Initial guys are treated well, focus isn't blatant on any character.
-Insectrons show up, get an arc to themselves with a bit from the Autorollers... and nothing really came out of it (at least not yet), and the Autorollers haven't done anything since
-Then the Jointrons show up and it's all about them for a while and then they fuck off for some reason (didn't really find them as offensive as everyone said, the worst thing attached to them was DJ peeing himself, aside from that they just liked to party and take credit)
-After this the Pirate Seacons show up, get an arc to themselves... then they fuck off.
-Megastorm evolves into Gigastorm and suddenly everythings tense since he's really strong and the Maximals can't just beat his ass... then the Tako Tank shows up trashes him no problem.
Are all Japanese Tranformers this bad with shilling their products.

Something I also want to mention about the show is how the Predacons are a massive betrayal conga line. The Autorollers are decent folks but everyone else is just horrible.
Megastorm wants to kill Galvatron to take command, Starscream wants to kill Galvatron and Megastorm, but also wants to be seen as more competent than Dirge and Thrust (he straight up has BB shoot them constantly), and then Dirge and Thrust want to be seen as better than Starscream and BB (but they suck at it really hard).
On a hilarious note Galvatron and Megastorm are related, Galvatron being Megastrorms older brother. Even stranger is that Galvatron actually respects his brother and even holds him at high esteem (even if he scolds him every now and then) which is pretty shocking

There IS a new not-Transformers transformer, Brave style series by TakaTomy, under their Tomica Hyper Rescue line.
The toys use the same engineering as current TFs but are more hefty and less hollow. Unfortunately, the gimmick is parts-swapping the arms/legs and armaments (like many Braves) so all the Walker toys have the same transformation.
They even managed to squeeze out an anime for it this year. The theme is similarly centered around civilian rescue with robots, but it's more similar to the Eldoran shows, with a grade-school cast and non-sentient robots.
Check out the toys here

>then why is she cute and buxom, and not fat and ugly?
I will never understand where this stereotype came from, having been to 3 Botcons, and 2 TFCons I have seen many female transformers fans with only a small handful of them being landwhales. Most are younger teenagers I assume are getting into transformers from the comics or tv shows and they're plenty cute but possibly jailbait, hard to tell.
>>6438182
TFCon in particular dude has had maybe 40% girls showing up who were average to cute looking. They seemed shy though, couldn't talk to them to well as it seems like they always drop their spaghetti if you ask them anything.
>>6438507
That's not how those distinctions work.
Licenses are given with set limitations to produce a work using an IP for an agreed length of time. Commissions are for a specfic amount of something created with direct supervision or instructions.
It has nothing to do with if it's free or not.
>>6437220

>>6437258

Even Hound is supposedly a mess to actually handle, even in the 2nd version. Their dinobots and RID toys aren't anything noteworthy. I actually like their Battle Blades Bee a lot, but it's not something I feel like I need in my collection.

>>6438555
Getting TR Rod was a mistake. It's a shitty toy with nothing good about it. The only reason someone would pick it up is because of the character it represents, and the fact that there hasn't been a passable Rod for ages.

>>6438576
Can't they do a 180 and turn it into a horrific skeleton-tank with treads that look like they are made of ribs and intestine cannon?
>>6438576
Takara would have probably done something pretty cool with the concept, since their Pretenders were human size. Basically, just sell their robot, pack it with the Pretender, then remove the head and attach it to the Pretender whenever they need to be human sized.
>>6438585
So hellish abomination Pretenders? Fund it.
>>6438590
It wouldn't work very well with the Autobot ones though since they had their shells just look like power armor so would just be normal TFs with something like a flip-out fake face.
>>6438574
Pretenders out of TM Vehicles sounded like a good idea until I remembered muh partscount
>>6438574
Eh, I'd preffer if the preters shells were Repugnus or Fangry remolds were the inner bot inserts in headmode to allow leg movement, but these are fine, just a bonus like the Titanmaster vehicles, what I really want to know is what "skills" they'll unlock, going by the Warden interview on Seibertron, the Prime Masters will work like Cyberkeys or Powermasters, Starscream may need one to unlock his combiner mode.

>>6438527
It's because of the stigma against girls liking robots.
Even if they're only into it for the gay robot boys in the comics, they're still branching out into the toys and other media, so I think they deserve a chance.
>>6438607
Spending time in this thread will probably make people discover reasons to hate figures. Empty gaps, stress marks, loose joints, badly planned paint, partsforming, etc.
>>6438607

>>6438600

>>6438755
Not that anon but I've been tempted to get him simply because I can't stand to have Powermaster Prime as a Leader-sized Autobot on one side of my collection and no juxtaposed Decepticon on the other. Convince me otherwise.
>>6438752
>tr megatron's stickers are optional
No because without them he'll have no faction symbol unless you pay for a 3rd party set, a set you should never have to pay for, least cw megatron has one tampo'd onto him and an ACTUAL optional autobot logo is included should one take idw seriously, the mold was dedicated to be megatron from the outset and is one of the few tf's to actually be drenched in paint (although just one color) that isn't in danger to paint rub.
There are still better voyager megatrons out there than blitztron too, the bludgeon retool (and his takara silver repaint) and depending on your stand with kibble we have nerf-atron.
Do not settle for tr cheap-atron, the leader ain't the best but has more going for the tr voyager.
As for soundwave I've always viewed him to be same size as megs, but regardless even the hasbro version is sticker free and has a much more varied deco than tr megatron, even the fact the mold was made for blaster isn't as bad as how much the blitzwing design is for megatron.
TR did alot of good but we shouldn't have to settle for this
>>6438758
Hes alright, biggest issues are the thin looking shins and akward looking shoulder articulation, other than that he will dwarf your other Cons.
I'd say get either Skyshadow or Overlord to face PM Prime.
>>6437653
There is conflict of design. Transformers work best angular since they need to form vehicles while erotic forms use curves.
>>6437822
No a good alt mode should be intergrated into the robot itself, if berzerker could of used more of the shell he'd be perfect.
But remember its fiction, its how people in g1 not bat an eye seeing a volkswagon beetle rock up with a semi truck and 2 lambo's
>>6438735
The issue is that they gave him the cassette gimmick this time and he needed a legends sized chest to store the legend scaled cassettes, though they all look more like tape players than tapes.
>>6438779
If you mean it as in an altmode fitting a character, sure, that's better but there's an unsettling lack of effective infiltrators and scouts among transformers. There's been like three generic government SUVs and only in the movie lines, you'd think those would be more common with the whole "robots in disguise" schtick.
>>6438829
More like mp3 players, they all have headphone jacks that click when you plug a real one in.

>>6438600
I didn't want to touch Transformers 3 years ago when I got back into collecting power rangers/sentai stuff but I went for a vacation in California and I had nothing to do so I went to a TRU near a relative's place and bought a movie voyager Grimlock to fiddle and 3 years forward my shelves have more Transformers than Sentai/Power Rangers since I stopped hard on that to collect Transformers more exclusively. TR Soundwave/Blaster is both big AND small in size due to the TM aspect. The idea of them being communications officers overlooking a communications station isn't far from their character background either. It works better for Blaster though and I usually have him in base mode most of the time.
>>6438600
pray you dont fall into the third party hole
I'm a little concerned for the new leader rodimus prime in a few ways
>he's shorter than existing tr leaders which are smaller than earlier leaders case in point first edition movie prime dotm megatron etc
>the leader is going to contain ALOT of trailer kibble on his back
>unless the piece on display was mis-transformed the truck trailer is going to have some unsightly protrusions hanging off the back
>no way can it assume the battle station mode the original could
Its looking like the best point of him is going to be the fact he's the first rodimus prime PROPER toy in so long, and his deluxe mode actually seems decent.
Anyone else have anything about rodimus prime?
>>6438917
We have to wait until Hascon
They are blue balling us with SDCC this year which I don't think is a good sign.
>>6438917
Well he includes a deluxe so of course he's shorter than Overlord, who is also taller than the other leaders we got this year.
>>6438917
>>he's shorter than existing tr leaders which are smaller than earlier leaders case in point first edition movie prime dotm megatron etc
This is a good thing. The closer it is to voyager size the better. I hate how they keep making characters like Megatron/Starscream/Soundwave leader size.
>>6438917
Adjusted for inflation the original movie leader Prime is about a $50 figure in today's money. Add the rising cost of plastics and that goes up to about $60. The most I've paid for any of my CW/TR leaders is $44.99, which was for Black Shadow because I couldn't hold out to find him locally. The least I've paid for a leader was $34.99 for Soundwave at Wal-Mart. If you're in an area where prices are particularly shit I understand that you'd be concerned, but if you're in the US we're getting what we pay for.
>>6438921
Does that really justify the size?
>>6438922
Not good when you remember a size class gives you a certain expectation on who its meant to scale up to, pic related, they're meant to fight each other and yet its just not a good match up, same for the titan class transformers like trypticon and metroplex
>>6438924
