It's from the lyrics of some song, one retard would say it and then say something relevant to the thread.
>>
>>6336900
it's a reply to when people exclaim "Jesus!" as a sign of shock or digust. Christians are offended that the lord's name be taketh in vain this way, so they casually ask for jesus to be taken off the dashboard(off the table), out of the conversation. So he needn't be a part of your angry outburst.

That's what almost all of the movie 5 figures I've seen so far do. They're Cybertron Thunderblast with different vehicle shells.

only if you are good at repaint, because he is very dull looking without any additional paint. (especially in vehicle mode)

he have a very nice sculpt tho (minus all the kibbles), almost as accurate as his looks like in screen. As a note we rarely get a Voyager size movie OP toy that as accurate as this, Voyager HFTD ROTF OP come close if not for his tiny feets and thin arms.

This voyager is AWESOME. It manage to integrate the shell even more neatly than the leader and it's pretty fun to transform.

At full price, it too much. Especially since those TLK toys are 25% more expensive. I say wait for a sale to at least pay it at the previous full price.

When I say it at 30$CAN instead of 40$CAN, I took my chance and I did not regret it. It look pretty boss next to the HFTD Battle Blades Optimus.

Anyone is not too much of a hipster to appreciate the 1step or 3steps Transformers?

I recently bought Turbo changer Optimus on sale for two reasons. To try out the mold and practice painting.

That toy is pretty nice and the truck cab dosent stick out too much from the back. The mask gimmick is silly, but eh, it's a thing. The overall sculpt is pretty awesome but it's a shame that almost NOTHING is painted. Especially for the regular 30$CAN asking price.

Anyway, have a few pics of what I did. Pretty basic stuff.

Barricade is alright. He's a fun figure to mess with in robot mode with all of his accessories, and his car mode looks nice. Most of the car mode just goes on his back though, and if you're not a fan of shellforming that will bother you.

Still, he looks good from the front and he has good articulation.

>>6337050
It's good that it distributes the shell better across his body, and he does have a neat transformation, but I wouldn't call him awesome.

The kibble on his legs prevents a fuller range of movement, and he's not equipped to pose well with the weapons he has.

I'm impressed that they managed to design a better toy for the Knight design, but at most it's good.

Also I don't understand why you have FE Prime on display.
>>
>>6337066
No. It varies, especially considering that a lot of the toys in the first two waves are derived from figures released in 2014.

I hear that Deluxe Berserker, the Decepticon SUV, is a decent figure with a terribly finicky vehicle shell. Bumblebee is just the Age of Extinction toy with inferior paint. The Deluxe Dinobots aren't all great.

Which toys were you considering?
>>
>>6337073
>FE Prime on display.

I know that toy is considered bad, but I like that Platinum Silver Knight Optimus better than my ultra fancy Takara AD-31 Armor Knight Optimus Prime.

No, really. It may be considered blasphemy, but I think he look better and he's WAY more fun to play with.

I also like the Movie voyager Starscream WAY more than the ROTF voyager. Yeah, I'm weird like that.
>>

I really hope they show the last few waves of Titans Return, the three variations of the Trigger Happy mold would make a great Starscream, Thundercracker and Skywarp. Also they need to retool Leader Skyshadow into Megatron, he's just begging to resemble Energon megatron. I also hope they finally retool Chromedone into Bumblebee because he would make a perfect deluxe Bumblebee.
>>
>>6336988

Well, shit. Probably pass for now, even though that winged knight robot mode is pretty great. Sort of wanted to wait on a more interesting deco anyway, even though he reminds me a bit of Vector Prime. This shit where you practically have to slather your toys in acrylic straight out of the packaging is bullshit.
>>
I need help. A couple of years ago I got a transformer that was a pickup truck, and had a smaller transformer on the back which could turn into a gun, what set was it from?
>>
>>6337098
It's also really unfortunate that Titans Return is going for 80% of these no-name bots like Quake and Krok and busting out foreign G1 shit like Sky Shadow, Overlord, and Liokaiser.

You also have garbage fan characters like Blitzwing and octone who already had figures made of them relatively recently and the characters are just plain uninteresting. hasbro did the right thing by making the molds megatron and prime first but they really shot themselves in the foot by not regulating Blitzwing and Octone to a store or convention set because nobody is going to buy the literally who's at mass retail. At the very least they should have made the mold g2 megatron or Octone could be DOTM megatron or even turned the Voyager Megatron mold into the Seekers. Hell broadside should be a Seeker and it's a shame that the repaint is some nobody from a show made 20 years ago. he could be an excellent G1 version of movie Starscream.

Means that when they turn into their alt mode, those parts basically form a shell around the controverted robot, instead of transforming. Only spergs are really bothered by this. Beast Wars Neo Break is a perfect example of this.

I don't think we'll be seeing that much more out of Titans Return. It's already been announced that Power of the Primes launches in early 2018, and the typical release schedule for the past few years dictates that there should only be only more after W5.

But to answer your question, it really depends. Figures based on highly desirable characters or designs, like comic exclusives or masterpiece alikes with no official option in sight, will certainly sell out within a week or so of coming out. Really, I've only ever seen 3p combiner boxsets ever go down in price.

For Susanoo, I think he's going to last for 2 weeks in stock at most. Also most figures only get one run anyways, but DNA has a first distribution face, so he may get a second release. If so, expect to get him second hand only after this years end.

I'm genuinely amazed Takara haven't released Liokaiser yet, I was really expecting them too since he's the only original Japanese combiner to come out of CW. They changed so much on the Constructions and Technobots it's just weird.
>>
>>6337205
I guess it was made so late in the run of CW/UW that Takara didn't catch wind of it until they had already decided to conclude the line.

Like, it was so late that Hasbro put it in Platinum instead of Combiner Wars.
>>
>>6337205
Probably >>6337208 as well as, like you said, Takara's staunch adherence to toon accuracy. They made a deluxe Groove and Blast-off on top of the retools for Rook and Wheeljack for accuracy, so they would certainly try to make a torso out of two bots. Devastator's limbs are pretty small retools, while a totally unique and entirely nonretoolable torso would be too much work and too pricey before they canned UW.

Maybe somewhere way down the line, they'll release a totally unique Liokaiser, but I think that will have to be a Titan release with no CW compatibility. The breast force was just too odd a team to get into Combiner wars without all of the compromises they have.

>>6337191
I got him pretty early, being in Asia. Personally I think Liokaiser is best looking hasbro boxset in all modes, despite the complete lack of G1 accuracy. They gave all the heads remolds and gave all them lots of paint and tampo's, even the tiny micron arms weapon. It's like they actually put in effort in this set (I think it's probably initiated by the same Hasbro HK people that did YOTS Omega supreme and those GDO toys)

Now the problems. First the plane limbs are really loose, the combiner elbows have issues holding themselves up at a 90 deg bend. You can tell they've reused those molds a lot, nothing you can't tighten though.

Second, there are paint issues. There are paint in paint-rub prone areas. Also, I was unfortunate enough to have one of Killbison's horns fused at its hinge due to the paint. The funny thing that 3/4 of the new heads have horns on hinges, but all these heads are cast in hornless Gaihawk's pink plastic then fully-painted over.

Gory pic of the fused horn after prying it out. You can see the gold paint stuck to the hinge. Looks fine now after assembling it all back.

As for the loose plane molds, I heard from other anons that the later sets sold as shop exclusive (entertainment earth) in NA didn't have that problem.
>>
>>6337217
It's still possible that, when TakaraTomy does eventually do the Breastforce, they could design them with CW compatibility. Why not?

I'm still grumpy that Devastator wasn't the same size as everyone else.

Does anyone have the name of those silver sharpie pens that some anon used to colour in his Sentinel Prime's unpainted wheels?

Does it dry well? I was actually thinking of using the same thing on Tiny Turbo Changers Grimlock, of all things.
>>
>>6337239

Don't use sharpies. Ever. On some plastics, the ink can rub off by just touching it, as if it never, ever dry. For small details like tire rims, use a small brush and Tamiya water based silver paint. It does the job pretty well as seen in >>6337057

He's great if you transform Deathzaras differently and you spend almost as much as Liokaiser costs on 3rd Party upgrades. The hands are from TFC Toys Hades H-01 Minos, the feet are greyish-white bootlegs of the Perfect Effect PC-09 Bruticus feet, and I made the weapons into nunchaku to mimic the boxart.

TFCU News:
You may remember that Empire promised us an article on Transformers Cinematic Universe Writers’ Room. The article is out now and 2005 Boards Member Temenos was kind to scan it for all of us to read.

To sum things up:

Michael Bay met with the writers of TFCU during the principal photography of 13 Hours: Secret Soldiers Of Benghazi.
Ken Nolan, Art Marcum and Matt Holloway wrote the story for Transformers: The Last Knight.
Every iteration, every era was considered for the Cinematic Universe.
The story of TLK is a combination of Nolan’s pitch on a story based on Transformers and King Arthur and Markum/Holloway’s story based on World War II. However, the article states that three stories were consolidated into the movie.
Santiago Cabrera plays Merlin.
The Bumblebee Movie story is set in 1980s.
The Bumblebee Movie will have less robots and the main focus is [obviously] Bumblebee.
The tone of The Bumblebee Movie is pitched for the younger audience it seems.
An Animated prequel is in the works. The story takes place in Cybertron regarding the origin myth of the Transformers millions of years ago. Ant-Man writers are working on the project.
Transformers movie set is ancient Rome is also in the works.
You can read more via the attached scans on this news post.

I wanted WWII :(

>An Animated prequel is in the works. The story takes place in Cybertron regarding the origin myth of the Transformers millions of years ago. Ant-Man writers are working on the project.

Has there been any news whatsoever regarding Platinum Edition Headmaster box sets? The last information was from some event in Taiwan late last year. Was it all just bullshit?

>>

An animated project. Will it be a movie or a TV show?
I always did want Transformers to be well intertwined with Earth's past. The Arthutian and WWII plotline of TLK are awesome.
Ancient Rome would be an awesome setting. After all the Roman Mythology is awesome and there would be a lot of interesting places to feature like the Roman Collesium.
The Bumblebee Movie is gonna be dope. The 1980s is an interesting time frame and the younger tone would work well with BB.
Overall awesome things are coming. Can't wait for TLK. I pray for Berserker to be in TF6 so I can have a better figure of him. Hope Michael Bay moves on to do great things but no lie he probably will be back.

The guy who designed that Bumblebee(and probably Leader Starscream, since he infamously calls dibs on any Starscream toy design) is the same designer who launched the rebooted MP line with MP-10. If you look at that MP Bee mold, there's some early traces of engineering you'd see he'd apply in the MP datsun mold.

Detach from the roof, not his waist. It's just a friction hinge that will pop off easily if you just take the roof and pull sideways against the hinge.

I don't know that it's breakable at all...

I think MP Wheeljack is motherfucking perfect aside from a lack of storage for his pistol in robot mode. Prowl is another rock solid toy, but some people may dislike the hollows legs.

I'm very pro-Tracks. I think while he has some shortcomings, he's still great overall. Dead sexy in both modes with a uniquely slim build that helps him stand apart. He does have some hollowness in his upper torso, but it's extremely forgivable. The ratchets in his knees and elbows are pretty shit and limit articulation, but his ankles more than make up for it. They get wonderful horizontal movement and make for some pretty dynamic poses that the other carbots couldn't hope to pull off. Honestly, wanting better knee articulation is a bit of a moot point when most MPs don't have the front-to-back ankle movement to go with it anyway.

People complain about the torso not holding together, but a bit of futureshine on the chest tabs fixes that. And it wasn't even a problem for me on Loudpedal here. The backpack being loose is another complaint, but as long as it's tabbed in right, I can pick them up by it and there's no issue. Anyone who complains about an ankle gap is forgetting to transform the grill pieces.

I think the biggest potential issue with this figure is if you get a weak ratchet in one of the knee joints. It IS fixable if you're willing to tinker. If you split the shin apart, you'll see the tab for the ratchet doesn't fit as snugly as it should in the little compartment it slides into. You can cut a thin piece of plastic and wedge it in there to reduce the wobble.

NOT something you should have to do on a figure at these price points, but... these are the times we live in.

Also, I really kind of want Soundblaster to go with Loudpedal. Their similar colors and specialization in sonic-based weaponry gives me a boner.

Most likely. Here are the options.

Lately, I've been trying to avoid jumping on the first release of a mold, since I'm tired of the same old G1 characters that always get representation, and I tend to prefer the "literally who" repaints. It also doesn't hurt that the repaints usually come with tweaks to improve the mold, and better accessories.

Sadly, this time I'll probably end up with just Sunstreaker, since I don't really want any more red or police car autobots.
>>
>>6338557
It's a miracle Optimus turned out so well at all, since his robot mode practically has none of the details from his vehicle mode. He transforms better than the leader, even.

In >>6337999 left is the grill transformed and right is the grill untransformed. It's not a world of difference but it's a difference.

>>
>>6338711
Upon further inspection I found it. Like you said, not a world of difference, but still a "huh" moment when I find an additional step in a toy I've had for more than a year.

My main beef with this figure is still the cavity in the chest when looking from above, and how the head just floats on a tab.

Been out of the TFgame for the past few months cause of PC reasons and this is my first purchase since and I think I need Twin Twist as well if he ever comes out. Topspin's transformation actually made me smile; 18 steps on a modern deluxe with no hollow parts shown in bot mode is insane.

No recent ones. If he still had the old twitter account we'd be getting cool combination pictures...

>>6339119
Welp it flipped on the side. That sucks.

Hes included on the next wave.
>>
>>6336944

Yeah. Because Bakugan would totally be in a Transformers thread.

Idiot.
>>
>>6336973

Cooked what way?
>>
>>6339199
Oh, so he's a Perceptor redeco.

There are worse options. Also I guess that answers my earlier question about Perceptor's legs having tank treads on the inside parts.
>>
>>6336995

Most G1 toys had articulation. Little, granted but very few were 100% unposeable
>>
>>6337204

>Fireblast

Why?
>>
>>6339207
>a Perceptor redeco
Not sure if trolling, blind or high.

Hes a remold of his twin, Perceptor has tank treads because his original g1 toy has it for its third tank mode.

I have both Topspin and Perceptor, they don't share parts.
>>
>>6339214
Blind, apparently. I hadn't seen Topspin or at least hadn't scrutinized him. The way the legs were shaped had me thinking of Perceptor because I was looking too closely at him earlier trying to figure out his secrets (a lot of parts that move and change but with no clear purpose and no mention in the instructions)
>>
>>6339207
>>6339116
He does have a kind of tank mode.

Is it not in the instructions?
>>
>>6337394

Yes. Very good. He IS playing Solitaire. Did you figure it out all by yourself? Im sure no one could have ever figured it out by themselves untill you came along.

Thanks for the timely rescue Captain Obvious

Perceptor tank mode.
>>6339219
Nah, they leave it as a "secret" bonus.
>>
>>6339225
They probably just couldn't get it into the instructions because deluxes arbitrarily can't be triple changers.
>>
>>6339225
>>6339219
Thanks for the pictures, that was enough to help me figure it out. That's neat, though, never thought of that.

So... info on Hascon went up. It's... yeah. Can't say I loved Botcon, but I pretty much have nothing to look forward to.

I hate that tank mode on G1 Perceptor, because everyone does it wrong.

Perceptor blatantly has a wheel on his back that's meant to touch the ground. You're supposed to remove the dials from his arms and fold everything down to be a complete block of microscope tank instead of the weird half-assed thing they cooked up then by leaving on the dials.
>>
>>6339252
I'm suddenly imagining Perceptor just bullshitting new forms since people kept saying his Microscope was boring.
>>
>>6338592
That'd look rad as fuck along with G2 Sideswipe.

And because his current TR toy has it for his tank mode.

I've heard tons of praise for this guy but I just do not like his bot mode. He's very bland-looking, and the underside of those wings are just straight up ugly. Maybe based Takara will remold them...
>>
>>6339256
I just call the microscope mode an analytical mainframe
