That's not going to happen sadly with modern Medicos. Realistically and I've said this in past Josuke arguments is that we would see a recolor down the line after Part 7 and if they really cared then a new facesculpt will be the main draw but I can also foresee them breaking tradition again and just doing the next character and his/her respective stand. Medicos really doesn't seem to care on scale and focuses on other things.

I wasn't around at the start but it says a lot when they botched Jotaro 1st so much that they bothered to resculpt his face to the modern one we see now as re-release under "1.5". It's a little detail but I like how they used their number system to show it's more of a small update. And if memory serves right they even had a small run of Jotaro 2nd's having the updated Jotaro 1.5 head(s?) to help those who just wanted to keep the bodies since those never change.

With increasing costs and more unusual decisions being made by Medicos I'm just super wary on what will come in the future. The biggest change that caught my eye was just the new skin paint being used around Jotaro 3rd's/Jolyne 1st's releases and the latter reissues where everyone has lighter tones but I swear shots make them seem to lose the detail that the old shading offers.

Also I guess you can make an argument on accessories but it is very character specific on the qualities. I was sort of shocked to see things like Dio Black ver. packing those punch effects that Jotaro 3rd will later revive but when I moved to Part 5 you had Polnareff's wheelchair, Mista's entire effect set, I think Fugo's mirror, and so on.

Part 2 was a ride with all the pillarmen releases, Joseph's sheer accessory set, and Caesar's bubble effects. And Part 4 for packing some of the best color choices that Medicos has made though some are probably more favored than others (WF CD).

Though Medicos isn't exactly exempt from this issue of splitting releases of headsculpts into exclusives with colorways that not many like (they have a strong plethora of references but always aim as questionable colorways). And never reissuing the highly desired colorways people want because of this whole "Only SAS 1sts are reissued" rule they seem to have.

However the biggest change is just the pace of releases being slowed to a crawl. Never mind RWBY being a choice but the wait now is getting to people.

And I guess extending things, Medicos is just missed potential in some areas and making odd decisions like the whole SAS BIG line that saw a revival in Summer WF I think. We don't know what or how business decisions are even being operated but someone has made the greenlight on stuff like different series getting their own SAS and opting on bigger scale SAS maybe to enter or appeal to a different market of collectors looking into JJBA.

Johnathan is still a bit recent to get a reissue so lurk Mandy for him. WF is nice and for once they actually surprised me with the stripe pattern choice so I was pretty happy with that. If you can get him for around or sub-6k then go for it since he also has the "Sunlight Yellow Overdrive" soundplate to boot so pairing off with yellow Tamashii Lightning effects with the greens of Johnathan has a nice look to it.

Guy who ordered the 3.5k whitesnake here, he came caked in dust but otherwise flawless condition, all that was missing was the two blank cds(the stickers were still all there) I gave him the cd from RAH Jolyne but the scale makes it look like a laserdisc, good thing Pucci will come with a spare Cd.

He is a very large and solid figure, i'd consider him one of the better figures in the line considering he is one of the newest. The cloud accessories are great, the shoulder ones are dont restrict much but if you use the two arm clouds it sorta limits the amount of good poses you can put him in.

Just try not to snap the stand peg off inside the clouds like i did.

How? I loved the fact they added it in and made Star Platinum pose better even though the Part 4 design and headsculpt heavily divides opinion next to colors. It makes me realize Medicos can engineer good articulation into their figures but its always locked by design. I wouldn't mind if they borrow ideas from other companies if executed well. I'll probably enjoy King Crimson and Stone Free way more of they integrated the shoulder joint system from SHF for their shoulder armors (KC has a single ball joint setup)

Not him but there is a place near me called "Book Off" which seems to be an international extension of the ones that came from Japan. They opened up a whole figure and toy section on top of the actual book library, DVD/Blu-Ray, Electronics, and other assortments to the store. Depends which Dio, SAS's have a thing to name variants/colorways by "1st, 2nd, WF ,Limited Edition, and something like. COLORED Ver. You also have Awakened Dio which was his post-Joseph blood form. Same case with The World since he has 3 colorways but they are largely the same across the board with the fact The World 2nd packing the big "MudaMudaMuda" soundplate.

Dio has a good amount of accessories but compared to modern SAS he does look a little dated. If you picked up Dio Black ver. then hope you rolled one with good QC, at least he has punch effects to compensate, WF Dio is Red and Blue and packs a coffin papercraft. Someone im the last thread noted Dio has some wonky feet or something and you should be wary on handling those when manipulating them.

I live in Brazil, and the taxes here are heavy. So I bought a Jotaro part III 2nd version (the purple one) for U$45 dollars. And got taxed in more U$. How is Black Dio?

I've heard alot of people say he can be very risky cause of QC issues, he's probably one of the most notorious overall in terms QC.

Is there anything to worry about besides fucked up eyes? I swear I remember hearing his eyes are very frequently fucked up.

The World has that issue with the eyes.

Black Dio can have bad paint applications, poor joints that can break easily (the waist piece that lets you rotate and move the leg just broke after reposing it). The only reasons you would go after him is for collecting, the punch effects and accessories. The lowest you should aim for is 2.5k since that was the norm for him.

As a followup, is WF Gold Experience any good? I never see it discussed here. I think the green one looks horrible and personally dont like the gold one too much, from photos I've seen from other anons it just doesn't strike me as pleasing to the eye, but I never see anyone post about the White/Pink WF variant.

This is generally what Medicos aimed for when it came to both WFGE and WFGER. After adding WF Gio's head to Gio 1st it really brings it home to me that WF GER and WF GE are colored around Gio 1st but you can also work WF Gio into this also but I haven't bothered to shoot that yet.

As for the quality, it's standard but the elbow piece on mine wasn't glued or placed correctly so it comes off at the bend of the elbow and that was fresh off WF. Nothing off on the paint and he has held up well but the color scheme is understandable.

If anything WF GER just pairs off Gio 1st enough and WF Gio pairs off regular GE and GER.

Also I did forget to note, the one I got off Mandy did have one odd flaw and that WF GE's belt loop piece came out of the peg hole but a small dab of glue made it stable. It's a fine release overall and generally cheap if you can find it. I think I paid 3.5 or 4k on him on Mandarake.

I only recently got into Jojo and consequently the SAS line. I ordered a handful all at about the same time, but the first one I actually had in-hand was the first SC DIO. Despite being a bit dated, he's among my absolute favorite figures.

Following him I got a BT Joseph, Jotaro the 2nd, and DiU Star Platinum. And I still have a Caesar the 1st, The World the 1st, and a WF Jonathan on the way.

Loving the sculpt and paintwork on these figures. My only real complaint so far is limited articulation on certain figures and the occasional loose joint.

I was just getting into JoJo's and Part 4 was on Episode 8. In the span of a week I went through all of Parts 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. Two weeks later, and I was on Part 8. I got on a huge JoJo's binge and decided to purchase my favorite Stand, Killer Queen (Pink). It was between Killer Queen, The World, Sticky Fingers, and The Hand. I ended up choosing Killer Queen as my first figure ever, and I don't regret it. I plan on getting another one soon, but need to consider who to get. I can sort of defend S&W since they pushed out Part 8 for the anniversary and I think to also promote Jojolion during the time. Hell, one head is dedicated to the proto-version of it in an artwork and I'm impressed they didn't also do the one original art where S&W had a nose. They even bothered to get two versions of his hands.

S&W's sort of uniqueness seems tied to a situational sort of thing versus the norm of Medicos since Stand User SAS are tied to having accessories.

You can't really defend the neutral/yelling head thing but either it comes down to cost or profiting by adding it to another SAS. Also by going by the othet series they've done like Parasyte and Drifters I'm sure they are aware on how they treat JJBA in terms of expressions since Shinichi has a serious and scared face and Toyohisa sporting that "crazy" smile next to Nobunaga.

Starting at Part 3 is a good idea for general popularity but with the pace of releases with the regular scale SAS there's no way to tell unless we see the price bracket they aim for. I mean, the only competitor is just the old RAH figures if the scales are similar with the biggest difference being the loss of clothing in favor of sculpt and better articulation.

They are super standard in terms of SAS quality. Paint is good but the colors on Kiss is the big divider next to the shitty choice of accessories like that back plug that is a sticker for the peg hole so you can display her from the back as a full sculpt (I would imagine almost no one ever did)

Articulation is average across the board and Hermes is a similar case but slightly better accessories (The ring and the bracelet pretty much brings back Medico's desire to have really small details to figures but rarely ever used)

Part 6 to me is a line that has huge potential but only touches it with Annasui's effect parts and White Snake's quality. It's marred down by questionable color choices and the lack of anything super tempting. Not to mention Weather Report doesn't even have his own Stand SAS.

If anything Kiss should've rolled better colors and at least an accessory of her duplicating an item from one of scenes to make her marketable but Medicos chose the worst outcome and I love Kiss's overall design.

I'd say White Snake is probably the clear winner of Part 6 for the most detail with a really clean sculpt and Stone Free is the best in the articulation category for Part 6. It's a shame you don't like Annasui because he comes with some of the coolest accessories and really knocks it out of the park in that respect in a part where Medicos consistently missed oppurtunities for cool accessories. I only keep him around because I have bad taste and like the way that he synergizes with Hermes and WF Jolyne due to their fuck-ugly neon hues; but he really needed to be a different color to help break up the colors of the part 6 cast since it results in a blue/purple shitfest with Hermes and Kiss standing out super hard as a result.

Then you're solid if the lot goes for about $100+ if a good number of them are there and with that sort of condition. An SAS boxed should be $30-$45+ if its regular common/easy to find releases, reissues should be a little less, more limited and high demand would go higher.

Loose per figure maybe starting less than $20 per but if it's like a loose WF Killer Queen then bump it a bit. That's just my really rough guesstimation and I'm sure someone can roll up better numbers.

If the whole lot is decently sized then $100 is a good starting deal. If each figure didn't have the accessories and hands and came bare boned then $100 isn't so hot.

I'm pretty familiar with what color schemes SAS' are based on, I just meant I wasn't sure why those colors were used on awakened DIO in particular.

I know medicos likes to arbitrarily avoid re-using certain colors between variants, but high DIO could've definitely benefitted from green highlights to match up with the normal one; especially considering A. DIO 2nd has a nearly identical shade of blue highlights that are only slightly more teal.

Johnny should be decked out with bullet effects and one effect for him when he transfers his hand to another space but that's really reaching out for Medicos to do.

They are very small compared to later figures, and have really tiny heads. Also articulation is not really good, with kak being the worst of the bunch due to the skirt.

If all you have is a duplicate head (at least that's what I got from that angle) then not much. Mandy goes out of their way to note issues on a figure but something like that must've slipped through and at the very best they will just offer you a small shipping discount. A lot of stuff is 2nd hand to brand new and you never know what can fall through the cracks. I've only seen one case where a storefront really bothered to help and that was due to them sending the wrong version of a figure and offering a full refund.

It was my first purchase from Manda, Fugo went for 2500, and I thought that was really cheap, so when he got here I assumed I misread the description and it was my fault. The missing mirror being the reason he was so cheap.
Now I know 2500 is the average price, or at least used to be, for Fugo.

Yeah, that mandarake dump got me pretty mad. You can find him for 5k on Yahoo Japan but in the end with all the fees it'll be the same or even more.
This is getting surreal by the way, everytime I lurk for weeks for a figure and it always gets sniped, i then bite the bullet, and there it is, the figure starts popping up consistently for 500-1000 less yen and no one snipes it for hours.

Yeah I've just resigned myself to being patient. All the Purple Haze's on Mandarake were bought up for the past month or two and then all of sudden 2 were posted in the past week and I was able to grab one. I'm nervous to keep trying to force it since it seems to be doing me bo good anyways. I'm in the same situation, been trying to figure it out but I'm afraid I might be out of luck. As far as I know the ps3 version got a physical release only in Japan, but I think it may be available digitally in the US and Asia, so if you're in Europe like me you might be fucked. Seems like the only possibilities for Europeans are to either order the Japanese version or jailbreak your ps3 and download it or to fucking buy a ps4. Pretty sad.
